This is bear country; practice safe food storage techniques. Elevation 8,500 feet. Big Piney Ranger District. 8500-foot elevation. 5 camp sites on the eastern shores of Middle Piney Lake. Trailhead from western end of the lake leads past a lovely waterfall and deep into the Wyoming Range along the Wyoming Range National Recreation Trail (open to hikers, mountain bikers, horses). Non-motorized boating only on Middle Piney Lake.

Nearby restaurants include Los Cabo's Mexican Family Restaurant, Rio Verde Grill, Rio Verde Grill, and Bench Resturant.

Location details / directions

Location: From Big Piney, go west on WY 530/ Middle Piney Road about 25 miles. The last 15 miles of this road are not suitable for trailers.
