Nicely appointed but could use some updating. Still, the service was excellent and I enjoyed my stay. Hope to visit again!

Very nice. Luxury rooms and bathrooms. Great location near Grand Central station. Excellent staff. Weekend price was right for the quality of the room.

Negatives: Air conditioning did not work fast enough. Might have been user error on my part.

NYC landmark, historic & glamour, excellent 4 the price and space, would have more amenities. It´s excellent located at walking distance (6 long blocks) to central park. Test the Sunday brunch ($100) at the lobby.
Positives: Historic and glamour.
Negatives: Some things would have updated renovations for the price.

This is an historic and elegant hotel in a great location. That being said, it does show it's age in places. Some rooms are about shabby, and heat is not controlled by individual room. Ours was very hot even though temps outside were in single digits. If you are looking for modern, this isn't for you. However, if you like history and elegance the Waldorf is a great hotel. Rooms are spacious enough for families, and location is ideal.
Positives: Location. Opulence and history.
Negatives: Booked room was shabby, shower didn't work, and had unpleasant odor. We were moved to a much nicer room without hassle.

The Waldorf has an amazing reputation, but the cleanliness of the room was not up to par. The carpet had obvioulsy not been vacuumed for some time. The bathroom tub had dust build-up on the outer part and an unused sanitary napkin was found by the hair dryer in the closet.
Positives: Convenience to metro, central to shopping & tourist sites.
Negatives: Room was not very clean for the level of hotel.

Nice old hotel with lots of history. Has now become more of a tourist hotel instead of a luxury hotel. Discouraging to see poorly dressed tourists in the lobby wearing ball caps, wife-beater shirts and flip flops when you are paying exorbitant price/ night for a luxury experience.
Positives: Beautiful lobby.
Negatives: Mattress too soft.

Waldorf is convenient to 5th Ave. shopping, grand central, and many good restaurants. art deco lobby is beautiful. Would not pay extra for concierge level as club was overcrowded and not available for lunch or cocktails.
Positives: Excellent location and facilities.
Negatives: Concierge, room was very disappointing, breakfast only. My suite was maybe 400 sq ft.

Encountered the manager while I was checking in. What an inconsiderate and condescending person. She rudely cut short information that she was providing and engaged a conversation with another employee. No excuse me or pardon me, just turned away to a customer who was paying big bucks! What happened to the customer comes first philosophy? The owners should consider her contribution to the hotel.
Positives: Old World charm.
Negatives: Over priced, stuffy, outdated and the employees.

Very comfortable and luxurious, a walk to central park and many midtown venues. Many elevators so you never had to wait. Airport shuttles directly to the hotel, saving on cab fare. Concierge staff were extremely helpful, looking up little destinations and helping with directions
Positives: Every employee was helpful. Lovely and comfortable.
Negatives: Sunday brunch made the whole lobby situation a disaster.

Service was great. Bathrooms were large and well planned. Double beds were small to share. The overall decor is starting to look weathered, but the rooms were very clean.

Classic NYC experience at the Waldorf Astoria - although it seems to be overrun by Midwesterners in shorts & sandals. The clientele is a little less classy but the lobby looks like a movie set, old Hollywood. Rooms are small but quite nice, great bathrooms & products. We left early but our room seemed to be very quiet.
Positives: The room was really nice, although small. Comfy bed.
Negatives: Expensive for the room size but it was nice, quiet.

The Waldorf was a dream come true. It was absolutely beautiful. They had every service that you could possibly need. It is located in the heart of New York which made it a wonderful choice for a short vacation. The Staff is wonderful, the room service is extremely pricey, but all in all we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Positives: The Waldorf is a top hotel with outstanding staff and exceeded our expectations.
Negatives: The room service price was extremely inflated.

It was nice to get away and be in a hotel that had uniqueness to it. The staff made us feel welcome ant were available to answer questions, give us directions, and even lent us an umbrella to go out in the rain.
Positives: It had personality. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Negatives: I can't find anything that I didn't like.

The hotel and the location were very good.
Positives: The room was very clean and nicely presented.
Negatives: The hotel gave us the smallest room with the poorest view available.

On my arrival, they gave me a terrible dark dingy small room with mould smell. I requested a better room and only then, they provided me a great room in a very high floor. It was a day and night of difference experience. I did this evaluation on the basis of the second beautiful room.
Positives: Beautiful hotel, centrally located.
Negatives: I won't tale breakfast from the hotel restaurant. Too expensive for the quality of the food they serve.

Loved the location. The suite was old and tired. Old style furniture and amenities. Old style TV etc. Should have been much nicer.
Positives: The history and grandness.
Negatives: The suite was not up to today's standards for luxury.
