My wife and I loved this hotel, it was beautiful with a very friendly atmosphere.

Positives: Great appearance with very helpful staff. Great value for money.

Negatives: Surcharge to empty bar fridge for personal use and no WiFi in room.

Barclays are always beautiful, but this room location was like an armpit.

Positives: Lobby and location are excellent.

Negatives: The room size this time was too small and confining.

In comparison to boutique hotels, this hotel lacks personality, but the location is very convenient, the beds are SUPER comfortable and the staff are very helpful.

Positives: Very close to Grand Central station, friendly/helpful staff, and great beds.

Negatives: Lobby could use to be updated.

Very nice hotel, would go back.

Positives: Good location, nice room and public areas and good exercise facilities (except for lacking a swimming pool.)

Negatives: Wish it had a swimming pool.

The only complaint I have is the concierge. One gentleman was helpful at the end of our stay. When we first arrived at the hotel, there were 2 gentlemen who didn't seem to want to give information about restaurants and attractions. We felt like we were pulling teeth to get information. Moreover, having never been to New York, we could have used helpful information from the concierge. The one thing that was great is the bellmen. They knew exactly the best places to have breakfast and dinner. Hats off to the bellman!!!

Positives: Hotel was very clean. The lobby was impeccable and the hallways were clean.

Negatives: There was an unusual smell in the lobby when we first got off the elevators and in the business area.

I would not recommend this hotel because it smelled old and bad. The restroom in my room was very cramped and ugly. The towels were very rough, the beds were sagging terribly and there was nothing more than news to watch on TV. There was no WiFi available in the whole hotel and any form of Internet was very costly and charged by the half hour.

Positives: The location was good for me as it was central to any/everything I did while staying in the city. I was able to walk everywhere.

Negatives: The hotel had a strong bad odor and they were mean and dishonest.

Beautiful lobby, great bar, breakfast was excellent at the lobby restaurant. Worth every penny.

Positives: The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable.

Negatives: Really had no issues that would be negative in anyway.

Was an excellent hotel, in an excellent location in Manhattan.

Positives: Was a beautiful old building.

Negatives: They did not have free

The hotel is beautiful and old, the beds are beyond comfortable, and the staff is on their toes to provide the best service possible. That said, the hotel is old (no WiFi, Ethernet cable instead but there's a charge to access the Internet, Zenith TV may have been purchased at a garage sale.

Positives: The staff (across the board) provided outstanding, impeccable service. Awesome bed, too.

Negatives: No robe, no wireless, and you had to pay for Internet! Crap TV.

Excellent location, staff very friendly (bellboy, doorman, bar, waiters) except the front desk(very cold people all of them and<BR/>I saw at least 5, not smiling, give you the info fast and bye-bye).

Positives: The lobby and the bar.

Negatives: The beds too high, my 5 year old daughter could not climb without help. The bathroom outdated, old look, the carpet old, the TV old, the coffee disgusting!

Beautiful hotel. Great service and good location.

Positives: Room were comfortable.

Great location, clean tidy (but small) rooms, close to most places and public transit.

Positives: The beautiful lobby/warm feeling.

Negatives: Small rooms.

Very nice. This double room was not as pretty as when I stayed before. I think they need rooms with two queens. Bathroom VERY small!

Positives: Lobby.

Negatives: Double room was not as nice as I remember.

Good hotel, nothing special. Lobby area is very classy and clean with a nice atmosphere. Staff was great especially the doormen, they got us a cab before we even asked for one upon checkout. We were there the weekend of UN national assembly so very tight security and secret service around as the hotel is in close proximity to the UN. The hotel staff was very accommodating and cared for their clients during that time. The room was clean but the bathroom had a few spots that were overlooked. They came up and cleaned while we were out. No biggie but the room was descent size with good cable channels and spacious for 2 with a king.

Positives: Check in staff, baggage check in area employees. Concierge were all great . Very friendly and great service.

Negatives: We got upgraded to King Delux. Room was on the small side but bathroom was extremely small and uncomfortable. Bedding was uncomfortable as well.

Find a better place to stay. Other hotels in the area are cleaner, more updated, with friendlier staff.

Positives: Location was good.

Negatives: Disappointed overall, please don't waste your money. There are better, cleaner, more chic places to stay in this New York area for this price point. I will not be staying here again.

Staff was helpful, food and drink over priced. General appearance needs some updating. Stayed here 4 or 5 years ago and the place looks the same. Carpeting could be replaced in rooms, hallway carpeting looked new.

Positives: Location is good, room was clean.

Negatives: Doors had holes that were not fixed but just painted over.

For NYC I suppose it was good. Clean &amp; comfortable. 4 stars or greater I expect a nicer, larger bathroom, robes, and a bit quieter. Seemed like a bunch of school kids were running around.

Positives: Staff very helpful

Negatives: Very average, but comfortable and cleanI

The Barclay location is very convenient and the room was large and comfortable. The bathroom however was very small and the shower lacked water pressure but the shampoo and conditioner were very good.

Positives: Quiet room with comfortable bed &amp; good shampoo.

Negatives: VERY small bathroom, poor shower.

I could not reccomend it. Even for the 160 Priceline proce, For $40 more on Expedia I could have stayed in a beautiful Thompson hotel, In fact i did this the next night. The room was badly maintained, tiny with old fixtures. It had literaly no char,. The common space felt more like an airport waiting lounge than a foir star hotel

Positives: Only the lobby ceiling reaaly

Negatives: Tv didnt work, several lights out, small cramped and smelled damp

It is on very good location in NY and much better hotel than I expected.

Positives: I like this hotel.

Negatives: Nothing.

This hotel met all of my expectations except for the third-party parking garage people. They put a nice sized scratch in our vehicle. The head of Security and a hotel manager assisted us during our complaint. The hotel lounge is very nice and had god food. Overall, I can't wait to stay at this hotel again. Also, my handicapped mother was treated very well.

Positives: The hotel staff members were all great!

Negatives: Our bed was comfortable on one side but had a tilt on the other.

This hotel was excellent. Lobby was very attractive, bar was not too noisy. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. Easy to get taxis.

Positives: Location and very upscale.

Negatives: Not best shower.

Great staff. Helpful and friendly. We had a car with us (which is always fun in New York) and they had a great system for valet parking with a flexible pick up time on the last day of the stay.

Positives: Awesome staff.

Negatives: Nothing, it was terrific.

Loved the place, everything was great. Except no ice bucket in room, could not get a cup of coffee to bring back to room. You had to use room service at an astronomical price or go out.

Positives: Very accomodating, beautiful.

Negatives: Expensive.
