The rooms were exactly what we needed and the hotel staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. Our only complaint was that the WiFi Internet never worked. This caused problems for my husband. The staff immediately removed the charges for the service and they also removed the charges for the phone calls to TMobile to try to fix the problem. We ate breakfast in the hotel twice and it was delicious, but really expensive. Breakfast for 4 was over $100. Be aware of that.

Positives: The location was perfect, and the rooms were very nice for the price.

Negatives: The WiFi Internet never worked which caused problems for my husband. However, the hotel staff removed the charges for the service immediately.

The newly renovated rooms are hip with small touches that make it feel less like a hotel room and more like a NYC studio apartment. However, they make it a lot of work to get your sheets changed at night - instead of a placard or sign- a guest must telephone the front desk to request fresh linens. The line at check-in was long but moved very quickly. They made late check-in a breeze, and we were upgraded from a Queen to a King Room.

Positives: We were upgraded from a Queen to a king room. Conveniently located next to a 24 hour Duane Ready (pharmacy/convenience).

Negatives: The lobby feels dated and they don't change the sheets every night.

The Hyatt is a large, extremely well-located hotel in midtown. The lobby and restaurant area is elegant but uncluttered. The hotel feels classy, but unpretentious. Our room was very comfortable and fairly sizable; the king size bed was wonderful, with crisp fresh linen. Bathroom was quite adequate, not tiny, the shower very nice. The staff is friendly, and customer service is excellent.

Positives: Friendly, with excellent customer service in an elegant but unpretentious atmosphere.

Negatives: I don't like the fact that I can't afford to stay at the Hyatt without a Priceline deal.

The hotel exceeded all expectations. The rooms were a great size, clean and soundproof. The location was excellent, and the staff could not have helped anymore.

Positives: The hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating.

Negatives: The lobby was very crowded.

Great hotel, great, friendly, and attentive staff.

Positives: Super attentive staff. Noticed it was my friend's b'day just from looking at his ID on check-in, and arranged for special dessert.

Negatives: I

The hotel is in a great location. It is close to the green line which can take you anywhere you want to go. It is reasonably priced for NYC. The hotel is modern, well decorated, and clean.

Positives: Great location. Close to subway. Nice facilities. Clean room and spacious room.

Negatives: Nothing. I liked it.

Wonderful staff, one of the bellhop particular took time to talk with me about the city, clamming on Long Island, beaches in the summer that are a must see, Canadian musicians he's seen locally, gave me so much info about walking around the city, it's within walking distance to everything, comfortable beds and very clean.

Positives: Fast check-out with a staff member on her iPad and very clean!

Negatives: Lobby is dark.

Unfriendly check-in staff, borderline rude. Poor attention to detail in rooms (i.e.,: shower curtain on backwards). Will not stay there again.

Positives: Comfortable bed.

Negatives: Weird set up, poor view, shower curtain on backward.

The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful and the market was excellent.

Positives: The hotel was close to Grand Central.

Negatives: No complaints.

Great location near grand central and whilst the room was nice, I was very disappointed by the lack of welcome and explanation of the hotel and facilities given by the reception staff, the ironing board had white powder all of it which then got all over my shirt and an extra charge for wifi I thought was a bit much considering the price of the hotel, especially considering there is a Starbucks across the road with free wifi.

Positives: Gleat location.

Negatives: Reception staff not very helpful, reception understaffed so queues were unacceptably long, and ironing board in room was dirty.

We came to NYC for our annual ladies holiday shopping weekend. We were very happy with the great price we got for this 4-star hotel through Priceline just two days before our arrival. We couldn't believe our luck. Upon arrival, we were nicely greeted by the bellmen. The lobby was large and cozy; perfect to wait for friends. The room was big enough for 4 adults and were very clean (no bed bugs, yeah!). We would definitely stay again.

Positives: We arrived earlier than expected and were able to check-in. Huge convenience. Check-in was a breeze.

Negatives: Had to request more towels, very minor issue.

Positives: It was awesome and truly met my expectations.

Negatives: We loved everything.

Lobby and concierge were very good. The room, while clean and nicely appointed, was terribly configured and felt uncomfortable. TV channel selection was horrible, and you had to pay to receive HD, which is ridiculous in 2010. Stay very far away from the Commodore Grill - the service and food quality was horrendous. Location was excellent.

Positives: Nice lobby; great staff except for one; excellent location.

Negatives: Room configuration was terrible; commodore grill - food and service terrible;

Great location, small room and
cheap-feeling bed. Found a roach in the bathroom. Hotel bar was adequate. Staff was accommodating.

Positives: Convenient location.

Negatives: Roach in the bathroom. Bed size/comfort below expectation for hotel quality.

Great location, great room size, but bathroom was small. Also, be aware that the 18th floor is really the 8th. A clever way to make you feel special, but overall it was a great stay for the price we paid and once again the location was awesome - right next door to Grand Central, Park avenue, etc. cannot be beat.
Positives: Great location. It was raining, but Grand Central being right next door saved the trip.

Negatives: The bathroom was cramped, even though the room and even closet were spacious for New York.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 16 Mar 2010 rated 7 out of 10.

Convenient, comfy and all staff professional and kind.

Positives: Price, location and

Negatives: Pick up of room service tray in hall was slow.

Wonderful decor, great location.

Positives: Great location.

Negatives: Needs some sound proofing features added to the lobby.

Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 25 Feb 2010 rated 5 out of 10.

Room service tray stayed in hall for over 24-hours. There were stains on carpet, bed covers, and chair. Maid did not provided me with new wash linen after 1st days stay. The manager was really the only one who was there for the guest. And I should not have had to speak with her anyway.

Positives: The price I paid and thats the only salvation.

Negatives: Noise, generally the place is tired.

Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 22 Feb 2010 rated 9 out of 10.

No complains for the price. Just recommend a little more attention to the room cleaning.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: The room had lots of stains on the floor carpet.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 19 Feb 2010 rated 7 out of 10.

The public areas of this hotel were very nice and the level of service was great as expected. However, the room lacked polish and I was especially disappointed that there was mold in the shower grout and caulk- not up to par with this level of hotel.

Positives: Very friendly, helpful and competent staff.

Negatives: Mold in my shower.
