The Algonquin hotel is in a class by itself. It is an old, charming, well furnished hotel, still looking as it did in the 1900s. It is clean, comfortable and in a great midtown location, near theaters, restaurants, shopping and many tourist attractions. The staff is helpful, friendly and very professional. There is also a real cat in the lobby.

Positives: The service: front desk, waiter in lobby and

Negatives: I could find nothing wrong with the Algonquin hotel.

It was a great experience staying at the Algonquin. Although the room was on the small side, it was clean and the bed comfortable. The staff was very attentive and pleasant. And my daughters loved Matilda the cat!

Positives: Room clean, bed comfortable, towels great.

Negatives: Not entirely sure bathroom was fully cleaned before we checked in.

I was only there for a short time, but was pleased with the service and cleanliness of the room. The room was extremely small, but comfortable. Overall, a good experience.

Positives: Excellent location and friendly staff.

Negatives: Smallest room I have ever stayed in, especially for 4 stars.

They give you the least desirable room. For the second time, there was no hot water for the shower and the stopper in the sink was not fixed after notifying the front desk. The last review<BR/>I stated that this hotel should not be a 4 star, but downgraded to 3 stars. That way I will not get this hotel again.

Positives: Breakfast.

Negatives: No hot water in the shower.

The staff was courteous and above helpful. The location is fantastic - walking distance to many of the places we wanted to visit and good access to busses and subway.

Positives: The concierges were fantastic. All the staff was friendly and helpful.

Negatives: A coffee maker in the room would have been nice.

Stay away. Run for your life. For this type of accommodation you can get much cheaper places and for what you are paying you can get decent accommodations elsewhere.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Extremely poor maintenance.

Great place to stay for a weekend of Broadway plays, museum tours, fantastic restaurants and shopping.

Slow elevators when they are working. No bath in the room only shower. No dresser or drawers in the room. Certainly not 4 star hotel. Barely 3 star.

Positives: Poor elevators.

Negatives: Small room, no dresser drawers, barely adequate.
