The Old Mill Art Colony In 1932, Wayman Adams, international renown portrait painter, was traveling from NYC to the Lake Placid Club, where Adams had been commissioned to paint a portrait. Wayman and Margaret Adams spent the last night of their journey in Elizabethtown. Falling in love with the area, their search for a summer home and art studio ended with the purchase of the Mill property consisting of the Mill Studio/Gallery, Cottages and the Main House.The Old Mill was Honored with the Adirondack Architectural Heritage Award in 2009!!
