Wow, just wow! This resort is actually owned by the girls scouts and has been since the 1920's. It is only in the last 2 years that they have opened it up to the general public as a conference center and hotel. There are a number of buildings that host visitors; we stayed in one called the tree house. We had a gorgeous room with 16 foot, post & beam ceilings. The room was very modern (including the satellite TV service and large flat panel television) and spacious, as well as warm and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The resort is a bit off the beaten path (we thought we were lost before we found it), but it made the stay very quiet and natural. It boasts 400+ acres with lots of trees and trails. We were only able to stay for a single evening, but had we stayed longer we would have loved to explore the property further. This place certainly beat my expectations, and was no more expensive than the other area hotels that we looked at. We will definitely stay at Edith Macy again if we return to the area.

Positives: Very quite, off the beaten path setting with beautiful buildings.

Negatives: The parking lot is pretty far and you must use the provided shuttle service.
