The staff was excellent. They provided a wonderful dessert for my husband's birthday, above our expectations. I dealt with the front desk, who was very professional and she went above and beyond the call of duty.
Positives: The view.
Negatives: Expensive parking.

Great staff and very clean also safe. My only complaint relate to price, for as much as you pay no free WiFi, refrigerator in room, and option for breakfast seems steep. I would like to point out again though the staff will go above your expectations and the hotels volt bar is quite nice and has a awesome view.
Positives: Amazing staff go out of their way for you.
Negatives: Over priced.

I was very impressed with the hotel but not as impressed with the room itself.
Positives: Very nice atmosphere and location. Not as impressed with the room in comparison with star rating. Beautiful view from room.
Negatives: The room wasn't as big as expected.

We stayed on the 65th floor suite big and view was outstanding but thats where it ends furniture was old Flat screens small not worth the price, a room facing the river would have been better and cheaper than a suite but other than that this hotel has everything it own gym, restaurant, movie theater shopping center I was amazed more downstairs than up.
Positives: Everything else.
Negatives: Small flat screens in suite, and old furniture.

The hotel was fantastic. The room was very nice, nothing extravagant, but very clean and had everything we needed. The building itself has a food court and lots of places to explore. We stayed here to see the Bears play the Lions and the Bears were actually staying in the hotel too so we got to meet a few of them. Definitely the best place to stay in Detroit, without a doubt!
Positives: Great location, very cool surroundings.
Negatives: Free parking would have been nice.

My husband and I stayed here because we were attending a concert at Joe Louis Arena. We rode the people mover to Greek town for dinner- very easy (.50 cents each.) Our room was not cleaned when we arrived. Was cleaned by the time we returned from dinner, thanks to the housekeeper on the floor. (not the front desk).
Positives: Location..proximity to people-mover. Parking cheap across the street.
Negatives: Our room was not cleaned when we checked in at 3:20pm. Went to dinner and returned to clean room.

Pleasant from the speedy check-in until we checked out the following day. Room was clean and comfortable, we had a great view from the 58th floor, quiet. Efficient delivery of additional towels to room. Nice bar and restaurants.
Positives: Very quick to deliver more towels.
Negatives: Confusing building layout.

We stayed at the Marriott Renaissance Center with our son and daughter-in-law while in Detroit to see a Tiger game. We enjoyed the attractive rooms and public areas, and the river views were beautiful! We found the Renaissance Center a bit confusing to navigate, but eventually found our way to the people mover elevated train to get to the ballpark. Excellent late night room service! Breakfast buffet was acceptable. Although, a bit pricey for the quality and service. Views added to the experience. Staff seemed rather overwhelmed by the number of diners. All in all a very successful stay, we would recommend!
Positives: Fantastic river views from the restaurant, would have thought you were at a beach resort, not downtown Detroit!
Negatives: Room must not have been used in a while; dusty nightstand & phone.

The front desk lady was rude when I called to confirm room, and the money that I had to pay to park at hotel.
Positives: The room was clean.
Negatives: Front desk staff. $25.00 to park at the hotel and there was no fridge in the room.

Clean, modern and great views of the river. The Thai wings at the Volt bar are to die for, and let's not forget the People Mover to get around.
Positives: The river view and bar was great.
Negatives: Nothing.

Beoutiful rooms, flat panel TV, lounge located on main floor. Lower floor has air of excitement, friendly staff and bartender. Revolving restaurant on the top floor overlooking the City of Detroit as well as the Canadian skylight.
Positives: Food was excellent, open space, Valet parking.
Negatives: The hotel removed the pool and sauna.

Positives: Fantastic views, great amenities.
Negatives: Everything was great.

We liked this hotel, probably the best view of both Canada and the Detroit skyline ever. Rooms were nice, though the carpet was a bit worn. The TV had only "Marriott TV", OK for one night, but if I stayed for business it would be costly.
Positives: Beautiful view, breathtaking!
Negatives: The TV had only hotel channels, no local channels.

Very conveniently located, the Marriott provided above average accommodations and amenities in a unique environment.

Great place to stay. I parked in a ramp connected to the hotel for $6.00 per 24 hours, much cheaper than valet parking. Rooms were great and perfectly appointed. Restaurant selection was poor, though, so plan on going out for dinner.
Positives: Elegant and sophisticated with tremendous skyline views.
Negatives: No swimming pool.

Overall, I was very happy with my experience with this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again in the future. Unfortunately, we had to wait in line for 45mins to check in which was the only disappointment. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
Positives: The hotel was beautiful and clean with lots of security staff.
Negatives: The check in line was HUGE - 45 min wait.
