Roast ( Dining / Steak ). Located at 1128 Washington Boulevard. Michael Symon's Roast is an 8,000 square foot restaurant on the street level of the Westin Book Cadillac Detroit, at the corner of Washington Boulevard and State Street. The 200-seat restaurant has three sections: bar/lounge; main dining room; and a semi-private area which has the capacity to open for over flow seating and blend seamlessly with the main dining area. Rich reds, amber, copper and gold tones, along with plush fabrics will provide a warm color palette. A rustic and modern theme incorporates dark wood, metal, glass and fire elements to highlight the roasted meat concept. Wright & Company ( / Gastropub ). Located at 1500 Woodward Avenue. One of Detroit’s most beautiful spaces is located in the heart of downtown with panoramic views of Woodward. Designed by Gordon W. Lloyd, 1500 Woodward was built for the F.J. Schwankovsky Company, a retailer of musical instruments. It was completed in 1891, and sat on the growing fringe of Detroit's Woodward Avenue, between Grand Circus Park and Campus Martius Park. In 1916 Gaetano "Guy" Rocco left a small town in southern Italy with nothing more than a few American dollars and shapely mustache. He was five-years-old.
