Shawn’s Hideaway is a 3rd generation family owned business that started in 1962 by Edward “Whitey” Rodgers. It consisted of camping, mobile homes and a marina with a campground store. In 1972, it was sold to George and Geraldine “Gerry” Mumford who was the Rodgers youngest daughter. They continued to expand the park to the current size that it is today with 150 mobile home lots and 120 seasonal camper lots. In 2010, Gerry became ill with cancer and passed away in August of 2010, passing the park to the current generation. Therefore, my family goal is continuing to improve the park for all people and starting the next generation in proper business management ensuring that Shawn’s stays in our family for many generations to come.
