Room was good but policies were deceiving, I won't use this chain again.

Positives: Clean and reasonable price
.

Negatives: Added fees-won't stay at red lion again.

The top sheet was missing on the bed. We were moved to another room and the light bulbs were missing and the lamps unplugged. Not as clean as I would have expected. When checking out, there were other travelers who had missing sheets as well.

Positives: Convenient location.

Negatives: The bed was missing a sheet and no light bulbs in lamp.

The noise at 3 a.m in the parking lot was disappointing, but the lack of a satisfactory handling of it by the staff was even more disappointing. The parking lot and entry way needed to be swept and cleaned up.

Positives: Good location

Negatives: The bathroom needed some extra cleaning-mildew on caulking.

Clean, friendly, needed Internet, there was a charge, I found out later that I could ask for some kit, if I have wireless, seems like a lot of trouble. Their bus room had a computer with no free Internet, very inconvenient, nothing within walking distance, I was with my 87-year-old mother.

Positives: Clean, room was nice.

Negatives: Internet charge, difficult with no charge, no coffee to walk to, or anything else in walk dist.

Beware of the parking lot at night. Our car was broken into we had been warned it was risky to leave the car in the open---they were right!

Positives: It's location.

Negatives: The parking lot - my car was broken into - the lot should be more secure.

Quite a disappointing experience. The jacuzzi is broken. The hall has a bad odor of mildew and smoke. The heater in our room was mangled and very loud. The sliding door was hard to open and the lock broken. The arm chair was horribly soiled, both on the arm rests and the seat itself (grime from a lot of use, not simply due to a recent spill.) No lotion is provided, even after requesting. After listening to the dog in one of the rooms bark and howl for over an hour late in the evening, we learned from the front desk that other guests had already complained. Unfortunately, it went on for another hour and the front desk seemed uninterested in solving the problem. Finally at around midnight we were offered another room away from the noise.

Positives: Convenient location with a well known name that usu sally stands for quality. Shampoo, toothpaste, an additional pillows were provided upon request.

Negatives: Poor quality for price and star rating. Broken items in room. Disinterested front desk personnel.

I would not want to pay more a night for this hotel. Its OK for a 1 night stay. They definitely need to update the TVs in the room.

Positives: The price I paid was the right price for this hotel.

Negatives: Some TV channels were fuzzy. Dog barking a few times late at night. Pillows were very uncomfortable.

Very run down, not clean. This is second chance we gave hotel, because we were assured our first bad experience was not the norm. It<BR/>is the norm for this hotel! Very disappointed; the Days Inn &amp; Comfort Inn are far cleaner and nicer than the Red Lion!

Positives: Wish there was.

Negatives: Lots of hair in bathroom &amp; dirty carpet.

This hotel has everything! Lovely clean rooms with many amenities. In hotel restaurant and room service. A pool and spa well heated and open in November. All within walking distance from the shore line.

Positives: Check-in was quick, staff was lovely, and the pool was warm and clean. Nice room too!

Negatives: Room service was a little cold.

Nice hotel overall. Exterior is very old, but interiors were nice. The bed was very comfortable, with refrigerator, microwave and free Internet being very nice additions. For the price I paid, I would definitely stay here again next time I head to Humboldt county.

Positives: Rooms very comfortable, seemed newly refurbished.

Negatives: Poor service in bar.

Negatives: The pool was dirty.

Good place to stay one night in a very moderate older hotel. Breakfast buffet was above average in morning for a reasonable price.

Positives: Rooms are very large.

Negatives: Walls are thin we could hear walking in room above us.

Positives: The location is easily to find day or night.

The hotel was clean and family friendly. My boys loved the heated pool outside. Room service was quick and resonably priced.

Positives: I liked the location and the heated swimming pool.

Negatives: I could never connect to the wireless internet.

This was a nice hotel. There were about 3 hotels in this same area. Busy hotels, the rooms fill up fast. Probably, because they are then only town for miles with hotels.

Positives: Friendly staff.

Negatives: Smell of the hallways.

Old building, over priced. Outdated. Would not recommend.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Not friendly staff. Old facilities.

This Red Lion has a great location. Was expecting the food to be better - has a fancy feel to the restaurant, but the food was obviously from a box. So, if you don't eat at the restaurant, this is a great place to stay.

Positives: I liked that the pool was warm!

Negatives: The room smelled musty.

Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 15 Jun 2009 rated 1 out of 10.

This place is worn out. Stained carpets, 1 little bar of soap for the room, no garbage can for the bathroom, vanities are too short, burned out light bulbs in the vanity light, mold in the grout in the shower, etc. I won't stay here again.

Positives: Nothing really.

Negatives: Stained carpets, 1 little bar of soap, burned out light bulbs.

Overall, clean and comfortable. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in. Hotel claimed to have wired high speed internet but I never did find where I was supposed to plug my cable into. The TV had less than 20 channels at times not much to choose from.

Positives: Comfortable bed, modern amenities, good water pressure and shower head.

Negatives: High speed connection hard to find, few cable channels, no movies available, no phone-book.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 01 May 2009 rated 8 out of 10.

Clean, friendly staff, large rooms and easy to get to traveling south.

Positives: Very accommodating offering variety of rooms.

Negatives: Long hallways: if you don't like walking ask for a room close to the middle.

The Red Lion needs to step up. the old days of it being a quality hotel are in in the past. I won't stay there again.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Hot tub turned off for the season.

I would not stay in this hotel again or recommend it to anyone I know. Hotel staff does not care about comfort of guests. Some traffic noise from street behind hotel but tolerable.

Positives: Nothing.

Negatives: Staff would not help with noise from many teenage guests in adjoining rooms. Noisy all night long.
