Overall, this hotel was beautiful. The room was large and very clean, the bathroom was nice with excellent water pressure in the shower, and overall it was a good stay. The location is also very close to the nightlife area, though it is a long walk or short cab to some of the downtown high rises. I also had breakfast in the hotel restaurant and very much enjoyed the food. The only complaint I have at all is the fact that the thermostats in the rooms cannot be set below 68 degrees. For some that might not be an issue, but I am a bit of a polar bear and found it to be a tad stuffy in the room, particularly at night. Fortunately, I was able to cool the room a little more by keeping all of the window shades open and letting the cooler temps outside seep in a little through the glass, (the windows do not open), but if it had been summer conditions outside I may not have been happy about the tight thermostat restriction. In most places I stay one can turn down the thermostat a lot lower and I found 68 to be a little unreasonable. But nonetheless, overall is was a very nice hotel.

Positives: The staff members were excellent and the hotel was beautiful.
Negatives: Not able to cool my room enough.

The walls are extremely thin and you could hear everything that was going on. The hotel restaurant staff told us that their kitchen was not working properly. For the breakfast buffet, they offered eggs, toast and muffins. They charged my husband and I $38.00 for it! For a nearly $40 breakfast, I would expect to be able to at least be offered toast, pancakes, waffles, etc. They should have offered the guests a discount since they provided very little choice and variety.
Positives: Location
Negatives: Little privacy.

This hotel is in a wonderful location downtown. Once a month my fiancée and I get a way from the kids to relax. We stayed at the Pfister and the Hilton. This time we tried something new Intercontinental Milwaukee hotel. During check-out, they told me that the housekeeper stated we were smoking, which neither one of us do, and they automatically charged my card $200.00. I disagreed and request someone goes up there and check the room out or do what they normally do to find out if someone was smoking or not in the room. They then stated they will send the head of housekeeping up there to check it out. Once it was checked out they told us the housekeeper that brought us towels told them that we were smoking. I said never again will I go back because of the disagreement we had and also when I checked my bank account, I now see a $4.00 charge for no reason. I will be calling that hotel. I won't stay there again, I'll continue to stay at the Pfister or Hilton. Maybe the Iron horse next time.
Positives: Comfortable and
Negatives: Charging fees without notifying customer first.

Would never stay here again. The room had filthy carpet, the room looked old and smelled old. The view was awful. The hallway was noisy. We checked out early at 11:00 p.m. and the front desk never asked if we enjoyed our stay.
Positives: Location
Negatives: Room was too small, view was awful, carpet was dirty, halls were noisy. We left early.

We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back to this hotel.
Positives: We really liked the chocolate bar set up in the evening.
Negatives: Parking ramp -- but at least there was one.

Very quiet hotel, centrally located for activities in Milwaukee. Friendly staff was happy to give directions and restaurant recommendations.
Positives: Centrally located for everything we had planned in Milwaukee.
Negatives: There was not anything that we did not like.

Love Milwaukee, love this location but it has started to feel like the Wyndham again. Great decor in the lobby but it is starting to fade into outdated. The staff is kind but there were no towels in the main area of the exercise room. One of the pillows looked unchanged and a lack of shampoo and conditioner the first night had me running to Walgreens to buy my own. Apparently it was missed by housekeeping because it was there the next day. Needs more vegetables/healthy alternatives on room service menu.
Positives: The front desk staff is very professional and kind.
Negatives: No Shampoo/conditioner and loud next to service door.

Very nice hotel that is close to attractions and restaurants with excellent concierge service.
Positives: Great concierge service.
Negatives: The Sea Gull that was squawking all night outside my hotel room window.

Great hotel and location. The lobby was beautiful and the room was very nice. However, the bathtub drain did not work and about 4 inches of water filled up the bathtub after my brief shower. I had to call the front desk for service. Also, the TV didn't work at first and I had to call the front desk to fix it too. Overall, I think the hotel was great, but not quite worth 4 stars.
Positives: Great location and beautiful lobby!
Negatives: The bathroom was tiny and definitely not worthy of a 4-star hotel.

Good location within walking distance to Riverwalk .... this is definitely not a "family" friendly hotel
Positives: Price and great comfortable beds.
Negatives: Sparse / stark rooms, not very "friendly" feeling.

Was great for a weekend getaway. I loved the 12 foot ceilings (or were they 14 feet?), the lobby bar, the restaurant, and the modern, sleek feel of the hotel. I noticed that the room was slightly worn (a spot on the carpet here, a ding in the soap dish there), but nothing major, and it still felt very clean and stylish.
Positives: Beautiful modern decor.
Negatives: Slightly worn.

I have stayed here before, hotel is starting to look more worn, bathroom was dirty.
Positives: Location, price, and decor.
Negatives: Bathroom was dirty when we arrived, mold in tub, hair on toilet, water glasses dirty.

The hotel lobby and lounge/bar were very clean and modern. Front desk staff very nice. Room was great (really 2 rooms--a sitting room with 2 couches and a flat screen tv, and a bedroom with a flat screen tv). Women's locker room had a great steam room and sauna (not sure what they had for the guys) but the gym was somewhat outdated with old machines and not many of them. Can pay extra fee to use YMCA close by, though---better option if you are serious about your workout. But hotel room, lobby, staff, and location: no complaints and would definitely stay here again!
Positives: The lobby was clean and modern, as were the lounge and bar areas. The room was spacious (2 couches, 2 tvs)---really a sitting room and a bedroom.
Negatives: The gym was not 4-star quality (old machines, not many machines and room not very up to date). Also, vanity area outside of bathroom had no door.

Nice hotel but not 4 star. Rooms needs to be kept up and maintained better. The wall paper was actually peeled off the wall and hanging there. They are due for some updates like a normal size coffee maker for a hotel room-needs at least a 4 cup, not a 2! It forces you to purchase it in the lobby. Also some of the lamps are very old and out-dated. And for what they charge, they should be able to build a pool.
Positives: Helpful and friendly staff.
Negatives: Room was worn: wall paper falling off, lamp stained, drawer broken; coffee maker small (2 cup); no pool.

Nice hotel in downtown MKE, close to River Street restaurants and bars. Beautiful rooms with nice views. Top floor rooms have high ceilings and great views. Employees are friendly and helpful, good attitudes. They have a bar that is open Friday and Saturday from 8 to 2, kind of a waste. A casual restaurant, breakfast spot would be better in that space.
Positives: Nice downtown location, nice rooms, comfy beds, newer.
Negatives: limited lobby bar/lounge hours, no casual restaurant

Room was nice - not large, but not small either. However, it didn't seem deserving of the Intercontinental name. The beds seemed older with pillow tops put on recently, definitely not the Starwood - type bed you'd expect. The lobby is nice though and great color scheme throughout.
Positives: The lobby was trendy, modern but warm.
Negatives: You might get a mattress spring in your back when you turn over.

This hotel was beautiful and clean. The location was convenient to just about anything you could need. A short cab ride took us to Miller Park where we watched our visiting team win! Bonus!
Positives: Rock star treatment and
Negatives: No complaints!
