Elegant, upscale hotel with great pricing from Priceline. Very comfortable room with adequate space considering it's a downtown hotel in a circular tower building. It was quiet and our room had a desirable view of the Lake. One drawback was that I was charged $25 for parking and received that notice under my door by morning, when I did not use hotel parking. The front desk staff removed the charges. Parking overnight is challenge in downtown. Bell hops pointed to a few options, but did not know about the more economically-friendly parking 1.5 blocks away. I found a public garage that was $10 less than the hotel. When I left in the morning, I was only charged $5 by the public garage rather than the listed. $14. It must have been an overnight special.

Positives: Lovely decor.

Negatives: They charged me for parking I didn't use.

Loved this older majestic setting for my lady and myself. Would highly recommend to others.

Positives: Older, beautiful, romantic setting.

Negatives: Restaurant did not appear to be open.

Great hotel. Food in restaurants doesn't offer a lot of vegetarian choices, and all is fatty. But that may just be because its Milwaukee.

Positives: Awesome location, interior, staff and 23rd floor bar!!

Negatives: Wasn't advised on parking.

Best hotel in the city of Milwaukee.

Positives: Holiday decorations were beautiful.

Negatives: Hair in bath tub.

The employees are extremely attentive as soon as you drive up, treating you with total respect. There are roses changed out on the tables in the lobby lounge bi-weekly, adding class to the setting when you first walk in. The hotel is decorated exquisitely. I loved it and wish I could live there and be treated like that every day!

Positives: They treat you like a king and queen.

Negatives: The food in 2 restaurants, just OK at best, but priced high.

This was a very nice historical hotel. The staff was very friendly, and the rooms were comfortable. Everything was a bit outdated for my personal taste, but some people might completely disagree. Overall it was a decent experience aside from one grumpy maintenance man who had to come to our room to clean the bath tub!

Positives: The historical value.

Negatives: The old, outdated decorations.

I thought the room was very comfortable. Beds were wonderful. Amenities were nice.

Positives: Beautiful ambience. Comfortable rooms.

Negatives: Some street noise, but I guess that is to be expected.

Room was small but nice. Expected larger beds. Location was absolutely perfect for our needs. Fortunately we stayed on night where on street parking was possible - otherwise it would have cost nearly as much as the room.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Expensive parking.

We loved the hotel, it was breathtaking to walk through the lobby. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We did not like that the bed was very lop-sided and neither of us were able to sleep. We also didn't like that for the cost of the room, free Wi-Fi was not provided and it seemed like there were charges for just about everything "extra" you might normally expect to receive for free. With that said, we cannot wait until we can stay there again!

Positives: The atmosphere was by and far the best thing about the hotel.

Negatives: The bed was very uncomfortable (lop-sided) and it was in need of several cosmetic repairs.

It was a beautiful hotel and a great value. Very expensive for food and drink. My room carpet was stained and I suggested that they shampoo it for the next guest but instead they graciously moved me to a small suite. Right in the heart of downtown and accessible to everything.

Positives: Hotel staff was very attentive to my needs.

Negatives: Bedroom carpet very dirty.

We had no idea how elegant and lovely this hotel would be. We loved every minute of our stay here. The rooms were beautiful and the beds Oh so Comfortable! From the check-in at the reception desk to our waitress at the piano bar, everyone was so kind and so efficient. I've told all of my friends about this dream of a hotel.

Positives: This hotel exudes elegance. We felt pampered from the moment we walked in.

Negatives: The steak house is way overpriced and needs to post a menu outside its entrance. $25 for overnight parking is too expensive.

This is one of the great hotels in downtown Milwaukee. Walking distance to the Milwaukee Arts Museum and the historic 3rd Ward (too far to walk to the Harley Davidson Museum). Spectacular lobby, excellent rooms, quiet. The staff is very friendly. The hotel consists of the historic part; try to stay there, and a newer tower. Don't miss to have a cocktail at the bar Blue on top of the tower and see the Sunset over Lake Michigan. Very good experience. I recommend the hotel.

Positives: Fabulous grand hotel in an excellent location. I added an upgrade of additional $40 for a suite with king-size bed, free internet and great breakfast.

Negatives: Their parking is expensive, try nearby cheaper garages.

Overall a very nice high end hotel. Be weary of $25 parking and $10 WiFi charges. Those charges make this hotel less than a bargain.

Positives: Cleanliness.

Negatives: Outrageous parking charge.

The hotel is simply elegant. Right in the heart of downtown Milwaukee. Close to the waterfront and many activities and night spots. I would most certainly stay again.

Positives: Beautiful hotel. Great history and architecture.

Negatives: $25.00 overnight parking.

The Pfister hasn't changed much in 20 years. It has a beautiful lobby and the cafe has very good food and service. The decor and bathrooms are dated looking. The bathroom fittings could use updating. The style of the hotel is a bit old fashioned for my taste, but I can see most travelers enjoying the old world elegance. Just not my style but a great hotel.

Positives: Old world friendly service.

Negatives: Dated bathroom.

There were two major down points to this hotel for me. The first was the room we got was smoking, and smelled extremely bad. When I called the front desk, they said their hotel was completely smoke free. Odd, since there were ashtrays with the hotel logo in the room. The other was that I asked a couple people about a local attraction and both people said pointed me to the concierge; however, it was obvious that the concierge was already closed for the evening. Since the event I was hoping to go to was for that evening, and the staff refused to help in place of the concierge, I ended up having to find something else to do.

Positives: The rooms were elegantly decorated.

Negatives: Put off by staff.

The Pfister is a beautiful historic hotel in downtown Milwaukee. It's within walking distance to many attractions, so it was very convenient. There is also an amazing view from the 23 floor martini lounge "Blu". The only drawback is the price.

Positives: Great location.

Negatives: Pretty expensive.

If you want a cushy stay at a lovely landmark hotel, the Pfister is the place to be. Every question and need is met with a smile and friendly service. However, amenities normally found for free at budget hotels - such as internet access or free continental breakfast - are missing, and the carpet in some suites is old and smells dank.

Positives: The staff was friendly and attentive to every need.

Negatives: No free internet access, no free continental breakfast.
