The hotel is very nicely appointed and well located. Everything was clean and met my expectations of a Marriott.
Positives: Good location with easy access to down town and surrounding areas. Quality is up to Marriott standards.
Negatives: Parking is an extra charge because of the downtown location.

While this was a nice typical Marriott, it was really disappointing to find that they has a wedding band playing right outside our window on the 6th flour until 11:00 pm. There was not escaping the noise. We should not have been sold a room close to this wedding. Also, very disappointing that there is a charge for the Internet.
Positives: Typical Marriott.
Negatives: Charge for Internet, charge for parking, no free coffee in lobby.

Like most Marriott properties, this hotel was designed for business travelers. That's fine when I travel for business (and I do), but not in this case when I was traveling for leisure. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful -- nothing against them at all.
Positives: The bed and linens were excellent.
Negatives: Lack of free breakfast or wi-fi. Cheaper hotels have both of these things.

Very nice hotel for the money and staff is very friendly. Free wireless Internet.
Positives: Very nice room and staff. Close to downtown and shopping.
Negatives: Parking was expensive.

While overall I enjoyed my stay, at check-in the gentleman showed no interest of my needs such as local map, dining options, etc. His only concern was to make sure I was charged the daily parking fee of $10 which is reasonable for a downtown location. This was only after I asked him about the hotels parking policy and availability. I would stay again simply because of its location.
Positives: Convenient location.
Negatives: Some front desk staff not attentive to needs of travelers.

Located in downtown Charleston, WV making it very convenient to financial institutions, professional offices, restaurants and shopping. The hotel and parking area is very well kept and secure. The hotel staff is very professional and friendly. Well above average restaurant and lounge. I highly recommend the Charleston, WV downtown Marriott.
Positives: Location, convenience, and cleanliness.
Negatives: No issues.

Will not stay here again in Charleston, WV. We have stayed a Marriott's previously and love them; however, this on was not like the others. The staff was unfriendly and the rooms are very outdated. After booking with Priceline, I called the hotel to reserve a king room. I was assured it was a king, but when we arrived, late, we ended up with a double. The staff was very rude and offered us no other options, just said it was all they had left.
Positives: The charge to park was only $9.
Negatives: Unfriendly staff who didn't solve the problem.

While this may have been a top notch hotel at one time, it is now somewhat run down and in an area that is unattractive at night. Beds were comfortable and towels were nice, but our overall impression is that this is not a 3-star hotel. Restaurant was overpriced as was the onsite gift shop.
Positives: Beds were comfortable.
Negatives: Hidden fees, old, bad location.

Charleston Town Center Marriott has an excellent location in downtown Charleston with convenient parking and easy access to local amenities. They charged extra for Internet and parking, but the rooms were clean and very comfortable.
Positives: Clean and comfortable.
Negatives: Charged $12.95/day for Internet access.

Positives: Nice water pressure.
Negatives: Parking fees.

Courteous staff, clean rooms and lobby. We had a very pleasant stay. They also were running a promotion where this hotel provided free Internet access which was very convenient. The only additional fee we paid was for overnight parking in the garage which is typical of downtown hotels.
Positives: Downtown location and close to interstate.
Negatives: Additional fee for parking.

The hotel was a great value and a nice place to stay I only had two complaints one was my daughter started running a fever and I called the front desk they had no children's medication only adult strength when I ask where the closest place to get it they wouldn't recommend me going because it wasn't a safe place which I did appreciate them telling me that. Also I've stayed at this motel before it is so hot at night you can't hardly sleep the first time I stayed I thought it was just the room I was in however I heard lots of people on the elevator complaining. Hopefully they can make some adjustments.

Negatives: Pillows are horrible.

The Marriott is an older hotel, but still a very nice property. However, they are somewhat slacking on maintaining the building. The pool was very cold, and shouldn't have been. There are holes in the skylight in the pool area, and the phone in the pool area doesn't work so you can't call anyone to get them to come fix the heat issue. They also try to charge $12.95 to access the internet, whether it is wired or WiFi in the rooms. Somewhat ridiculous considering this is not exactly a cheap hotel to being with. Then you have to pay $9 to park. Better to unload your belongings and park in the mall parking lot across the street for $1.75.
Positives: Nicely appointed rooms.
Negatives: Pool was ice cold, phone didn't work, internet costs $12.95.

Hotel had very friendly and accommodating staff. The public areas were much nicer than I expected and the rooms were clean and comfortable. I was able to check in 4 hours before stated check-in time and check out 2 hours late (both without prior approval from the hotel).
Positives: Very friendly staff, very nice public areas, and clean.
Negatives: Had to pay for parking in garage, no short term parking.

Over priced for what is received.
Positives: Facilities.
Negatives: Value.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and have found it to be a very positive experience. We live approximately 100 miles away and travel to the area for entertainment. We always arrive very late and appreciate the fact that there are no disturbances to prevent our getting to sleep quickly. In addition to the quietness, our room has always been clean, well decorated and we appreciate the fact that a most comfortable king sized bed has been available.
Positives: Staff was extremely helpful and friendly and there were no negatives regarding the facility.
Negatives: Really did not find anything.

For what I paid through Priceline - it is a great value. Less expensive hotels in Chicago are far more luxurious then this place.
Positives: Room and bed was very comfortable.
Negatives: Expected more luxurious appointments.

This was a nice, clean hotel with excellent staff. The food was good in the on site location. Felt safe at the hotel. Big mall right across the street. The only real complaint that I have is that they charged for the in room internet and while they had a business center you could use it only had two computers and was always occupied. Also charged for garage parking and there was no valet.
Positives: Staff was very friendly
Negatives: In room internet was not included

Over all for the amount we paid it was OK. The rooms are just as nice and you don't have to pay for parking and they have breakfast for free and you can stay for a little less using on-line or road side coupon books. But the location is great I have stayed at many Marriott resorts and hotels and this one was just not so nice.
Positives: The bed was OK.
Negatives: Had to pay for parking and inrernet use and the room does not compare to the Marriott resort

This is a really nice hotel. We stay there often. It is very convenient - easy on and off to major roads, walking ability to lots of downtown restaurants and activities. I have used their restaurant in the past and it was expensive and only fair - did not attempt this time.
Positives: Proximity to downtown - the Mall there is great.
Negatives: Paying extra for parking.

Overall, I was very pleased with the hotel and the price. I wish the room temperature issue could have been solved. Our friends staying at the same hotel experienced the same problems. I would stay there again though given the opportunity.
Positives: Location.
Negatives: The room was too too hot. No way to control temperature. Very uncomfortable to sleep in the heat.

Positives: The staff was very friendly and seemed to genuinely care about our experience.
Negatives: I thought that the beds were very hard.

Overall this was a pleasant experience. The bathroom had hair in the sink, and mold in the corners of the tub. The pool area and sauna were not clean.
Positives: The food and service.
Negatives: Bathroom and pool area could have been cleaner.

I was pleased with the room (especially the bed and shower) but there was no internet connection unless you are willing to pay $9.99. I find that to be ridiculous. Also, there was no continental breakfast, only overpriced room service.
Positives: Very comfortable bed.
Negatives: Had to pay $9.99 for internet connection.

Easy access to Mall & Restaurants. Upscale hotel at a reasonable price. Will visit again.
Positives: Location, pool, and gym.
Negatives: Paying to park car.
