Berret's Restaurant ( Dining / Seafood ). Located at 199 South Boundary Street. For 20 years Berret’s Seafood Restaurant and Taphouse Grill has offered two dining choices in one convenient location.
We are located in Merchants Square, one block from the Historic Area of Colonial Williamsburg and across from the College of William and Mary.
The Seafood Restaurant has been voted by locals as “Best in Williamsburg” for over 10 years. We actively seek out the freshest in regional seafoods and produce.
Our proximity to the York and James Rivers, Chesapeake Bay, and offshore Atlantic waters provide a variety of fresh seasonal catches: shad roe, softshell crabs and sea trout in the spring; flounder cobia, tuna, wahoo and bluefish in the summer; and rockfish, red fish and sea bass each fall. With the availability of local natural oysters and clams and the advent of aquaculture, we offer shellfish year-round. For the unfortunates who wish not to eat seafood, equal care is taken with our steaks, chops and poultry entrees. Children are welcome with special menus and in spirit as well.
Our full beverage service includes a newly expanded 80-bottle wine list with 20 wines by the glass, local micro-brews and full bar service.

Food For Thought ( Dining / Other ). Located at 1647 Richmond Road. Food For Thought Restaurant should be a destination for any Williamsburg VA trip. The décor features biographical pictures of inventors, scientists, and social leaders while the walls display thought-provoking quotes used to set the tone for a positive and enjoyable dining experience. Discussion cards are placed upon the tables to help spur thought-charged conversation. Food For Thought’s menu is as diverse as the great thinkers themselves.
Our diner’s choices vary from classic American dishes, to more ethnic dishes to healthier vegetarian, vegan or one of our nightly seafood specialties. We also provide a gluten-free menu, a kid’s menu with healthy options, and our “Magic 55” senior’s menu.

Old Chickahominy House ( Dining / Family ). Located at 1211 Jamestown Road. We started in 1955 in an old one story building near the Chickahominy River. At that time it was a tea room serving ham biscuits and homemade pie as well as selling antiques, gas, and cigarettes.
After a robbery, Miss Melinda found this property on Jamestown Road. The bank hesitated to give her a loan because it was too far out in the country. They now have a branch a block away!
The building was ready in 1962 and was constructed of new materials and architectural salvage from the area. The paneling in the back of the shop was from the plantation home Carter's Grove, acquired when the owner did some remodeling.
Not only do we serve great southern food, but our 3-story antiques/gift shop has furniture, lamps, pictures, mirrors, unique gift items, and jewelry as well as handbags, jackets, and seasonal merchandise.
