New River flows north instead of south their is 37 miles of new river located in Giles county it has several major class 2 and class 3 rapids and it also has flat water to please motorboats.New River is considered one of the best fishing rivers in Virginia it is known for its bass, muskee, catfish and rockbass. Many record fish have been caught out of New River.
