Allegheny River Island Wilderness Area is a campsite / RV park located in Tionesta.
Seven islands in the Allegheny River, totaling 368 acres, are part of this Wilderness. All are of alluvial origin, which means they were formed by water-carried deposits of sand, mud, and clay. The islands are located between Buckaloons Recreation Area and Tionesta. Camping is permissible on all of the islands unless otherwise posted.
