The room was very clean, and smelled nice. The microwave and refrigerator were helpful. Bathrooms were clean and towels were fresh. My family and I were very pleased with the condition of the room and its amenities.

Positives: Hotel is on a main street in Espanola, moments away from downtown and restaurants.

Negatives: Our stay was for 2 nights our key card worked 1st night, not 2nd. Staff was helpful in fixing the matter.

The table was broken. The bathtub faucet was broken. I had to physically hold it in position while turning on the shower to keep it from falling off tub. The worst is yet to come. The next morning when I got up there was a very large stain on the box springs which was under the covers and I had not noticed it or I would not have stayed in the room. Very bad experience.

Positives: Nothing.

Negatives: The nasty stain on the box springs and all the broken furniture.

Convenient at a rather high price for what you got, even with your discount.

Positives: Fairly clean and convenient.

Negatives: Nothing worked; no batteries in remote. And wireless internet didn't work.

On May 8, 2007, my wife, granddaughter, and I stayed at the Days Inn at 807 South Riverside Drive in Espanola, New Mexico. Originally, we were assigned room #113 but the sink in the room was plugged and drained very slow. I complained to the front desk and we were moved to room #115. A few minutes later, another guest was assigned the same room that had the sink problem without any corrective action from the front desk. The person at the front desk seemed to have a problem answering the phone when called. After five or six attempts, I finally walked to the office and voice my complaints. There was no new check-ins and the front desk clerk was preoccupied in the back room. I guess that is why he never answered the phone. The carpets in both the first and second rooms were extremely filthy, smelly and dirty. The carpet in our room (#115) appeared to have several dog urine spots near the front door area. The bathroom had a spot of blood on the wall behind the door. The room also had a terrible odor and musty smell. We dared not walk bare footed in the room other than the shower area. We went to the store and bought spray room deodorizer and hang up deodorizing trees. I complained to the front desk and he advised they were in the process of cleaning and replacing carpets in some the rooms. I asked for one of the rooms where the carpet had been cleaned, and he said the carpet was still damp and refused to assign me another room. Of all the hotel chains that I have used over the years, this is the dirtiest motel ever that I have ever stayed in. I have used Days Inn in other locations in the United States and have never seen such disgusting conditions. I booked the reservation online and the charges were none refundable. My wife complained so much that I was seriously considering finding another motel at another location. We only spent a minimum of time in the room. In the future, I will think twice about choosing a Days Inn for my accommodations. I usually get my money's worth staying at the Days Inn facilities, but in this case, I think my value was lost in the accommodations.

Positives: Rates.

Negatives: Old disgusting dirty carpets and blood on the bathroom wall.
