This trip was booked for an employee. Instead, they charged the employee's card and denied receiving the authorization form. When confronted with proof to the contrary, front desk staff was very reluctant to rectify the error and was actually rude. We escalated the complaint to the manager. He returned our call promptly, apologized and assured us that charges would be taken off the employee's card and applied to the correct card.
Positives: Location, cleanliness, and security.
Negatives: Front desk staff needs additional customer service training.

Problem 1: the card-key to access the hotel room door did not work for me or other people staying at the hotel. Problem 2: the temperature/pressure control for the shower did not work and the water was ice cold which meant that I did not get a shower. Comments: best western needs to evaluate the training of their representatives at the front desk. The entire representative I encountered never made eye contact, was never pleasant, and didn't care about how they came across or how they provided the service. No solution was offered to either me or the other occupant regarding the cardkey not working. I had to make sure to come in at the same time as others coming into the hotel room area. It was obviously a problem because people were propping the security door open. When I brought forward the problem about the shower not working, all they told me was that they would report it to maintenance. There was no consideration at all for my discomfort or offer for me to take a shower in another room at the hotel. Best western may be the largest hotel chain but they sure aren't the best!
Positives: Pleasant enough room with a decent bed.
Negatives: Lousy customer service. Card key access problems not addressed.
