The hotel wasn't the best, but it was clean. And the staff was super nice and helpful. It was conveniently located off the freeway as well.
Positives: The staff was the best!
Negatives: The bathroom was small.

The staff and room were great but the E entrance was scary. The people there were waiting for something.
Positives: The bedding smelled very clean.
Negatives: The unsavory people outside of Exit E where we had to enter.

We arrived at the hotel at 11:30 pm there was a leak and one of the ceiling in a room collapsed. An older couple was injured and their belongings damaged. The staff was horrible at taking care of its customers and answering questions. After waiting an hour and still unable to check into my room. One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at.
Positives: Nothing.
Negatives: Bad and unfriendly customer service. Not clean.

We have stayed in the Econo lodge in Wichita one weekend every other month for over a year and had excellent service and a near perfect room each time so we undoubtedly thought this time would be the same here. Let me just say all hotels of the same chain are far from alike if this one is your example. The only good thing about this place is the location near the interstate and there is an all night Denny's nearby. We asked for a non-smoking room only to find not only was it a smoking room but apparently had been a long time tenant that smoked in it. I took my shower second and when I grabbed my towel off the rack it was stuck partly to the bar (not a good sign I assure you) and it was so full of smoke it had turned an ugly yellow and smelled like a smoker had worn it for a month. I was so peeved it wasn't even funny. Did I forget to mention that their computers were down and the poor girl at the desk was lost at what to do and jotted my husband's card number on a piece of paper to run when it came up. Still down when we left so we thought it will be a couple days. I go to MI once a year sometimes two. But I will never stay there again my car with 3 kids is more fun than that hotel was.
Positives: Location was good.
Negatives: Terrible room and terrible conditions around it.

I would never recommend for anyone to ever sleep or actually pay to sleep here. The quality of cleanliness was non-existent. The one person running the entire place seem to not care of any of my concerns. I remember walking into the room and there was the trash shoved under the bed from the previous person, I pulled back the sheets and there was hair left from who knows how long ago. It was so disgusting. The shower was covered with soap scum, dirt and hair. When this was brought to the attention of the attendant, I asked for an extra sheet set so I could at least get some sleep. An hour later she brought one flat sheet to me. I did not get any sleep, I felt like little bugs were biting my legs all night. The next morning I voiced my concern to a different attendant at the front desk. And she laughed at me and said sure someone will call you back. Haven't heard anything. This business should be reported to the better business bureau and should be shut down.
Positives: None.
Negatives: Very rude and non helpful staff, very dirty.

It was hard to tell which when I entered room 131 at the Econo Lodge in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I've been told that the authorities, when investigating the report of a met lab in an apartment or room, often detect the telltale odor of cat urine in a place that was used to make met I don't know. I arrived at about 10:30 on a Friday night. It was a warm evening. The air in the lobby of the Econ Lodge was even warmer, more humid, stifling. The man gave me a room key and vague directions to the room. I drove my car to the inside of the courtyard, the motel being roughly U shaped. I noticed that the parking lot was quite in need of resurfacing with small weeds growing up through the cracks. It looked as though I could reach my room by going through the outdoor pool area. I opened the gate to find a tarp pulled over the pool with putrid water pooling on the surface of the tarp. A pool skimmer and some other implement were tossed carelessly on the concrete surrounding the pool. Metal umbrellas, maybe once used back when the pool was in use (seeming long ago), sat idle, bent, sad on the ground. A drinking fountain stood dirty and unused at one end of the pool. I found my way past this and into the building. Dingy hallway, dirty carpets. It was creepy. I found room 131 and entered to smell the cat urine. I rolled back the bedspread and found hairs (pubic and otherwise) scattered on the sheets of the bed. 'I'm not sleeping here,' I said to myself. I called the desk and told the man what had awaited me when I had arrived. He seemed to care little for my plight but said that he would try to find another room. Room 127 was open. We walking to it together and found that it didn't smell like cat urine. Excellent! I did find, however, that there was food left in the refrigerate.
Positives: There is nothing good about this place.
Negatives: Dirty, smelly place with bad service.
