We had an anniversary dinner reservation at their top of the line restaurant which they canceled at the last minute - Conney dogs for dinner. Inexcusable.

Positives: I liked the athletic and swimming areas but they were set too far from the room in the business meeting area of the hotel.

Negatives: The rooms have not been updated in more than ten years - no flat screen had? - pay for wifi.

This is not a 4 star hotel - it may have been 25 years ago - it is now out of date. The water was hard, the room was dry, the TV was 20 years old and WiFI cost almost as much as the room. Noise from floors above and below kept us up through the night. If you are traveling in Detroit, stay downtown or at the Westin Southfield.

Positives: I did not like anything about this hotel.

Negatives: The room was out of date. The hotel was very noisy. WiFi was very expensive. Parking lot was out of control.

Nice hotel in a good location. The room was average even though the lobby and common areas are well above average. Front desk staff was very professional. The bathroom was small and the TV was oddly placed in the room. There is a $10 charge for internet use.

Positives: The common areas of this hotel was beautiful and the front desk person was very nice.

Negatives: The bathroom was extremely small.

It's easy to see, when approaching this hotel, why it should be a four-star hotel. It's pretty magnificent on the outside, and the lobby is impressive. It's pretty much downhill after that, though. The rooms are tired, the bathrooms tiny and outdated, and the beds really uncomfortable. Our family of three (mother, father, college-age son) had a choice of one king bed or two doubles. Neither works for a family. My husband and I shared a double that was sunken in the middle. We're not oversized people, but this bed was much too small and worn out for two adults to sleep in. It was a miserable night.

Positives: It has free, convenient parking and a very high end lobby.

Negatives: The beds are miserably uncomfortable

, and the bathrooms are much too small.

Great value for what I paid.

Positives: Nice facilities, friendly staff, and clean.

Negatives: Small bathroom.

Very large. Has professional staff. Nice coffee shop, but it's not Starbucks, they just sell Starbucks coffee.

Positives: Beautiful hotel and very kind staff.

Negatives: Rooms are a little dated. No flat screen TV and must pay for wi- fi.

Nice hotel the bathroom are on the small size and they do not offer free WiFi.

Positives: Very close to the mall.

Negatives: In comparison to inexpensive hotels they offer free WiFi and this hotel don't offer.

Pool could not keep towels stock, too many without supervision, and pool was too small.

Positives: Room was very nice.

Negatives: Bed was not comfortable, need to be bigger, and better grade of mattress.

Really not impressed with this hotel especially in terms of our room. Although very clean it definitely needed some updating. Didn't realize that breakfast was not complimentary.
Positives: Staff very friendly, and lobby very nice.

Negatives: Have stayed at hotels where the rooms were so much nicer and breakfast was free with free snacks.

Overall experience, fabulous, clean,
roomy
and very nice.

Positives: Great price for a high quality hotel.

Negatives: Nothing.

Friendly staff greeted me at the front door, and that level of courtesy and professionalism existed in each person I encountered throughout the stay. As a vacationer to Detroit, I did not pack formal clothes and was concerned the hotel was "too upscale" to be wearing shorts and a tee shirt after a long drive. I was assured by the desk staff person that the hotel is used by vacationers and business people alike. The hotel itself is modern and clean, and a great value for the rate I paid. The room was spacious and comfortable. I was surprised to see an older television, expecting flat screen would be the norm. Based on the number of floors and rooms in the hotel, this may still be a expensive undertaking for Hyatt to take on. The stay was exceptional - I would go again!

Positives: I found the hotel to be modern and sophisticated from the lobby to the room. It was formal but guests could be seen wearing vacation-wear also

Negatives: I wish there was a complementary breakfast at a reasonable price, but I understand the hotel attracts a upscale clientèle.

I really liked this hotel, and I am very happy with Priceline. Thank you.

Positives: Clean and quiet.

Negatives: No safe box in the room.

Do not stay at this hotel! You will not be able to get any sleep. People walking around and talking and yelling till 3 am everyday with no exceptions! The manager did not do anything about it!

Positives: Not much to like when you cant get any peace and quiet sleep inside your own room!

Negatives: Unhelpful manager on duty. I am a Hyatt gold passport member and almost always stay at Hyatt and I am very disappointed in this very bad experience.

Bug on bed (on top of covers between pillows) of first room, got another room called the refresh room, but still small room, poor quality. Hotel appears to be business oriented.

Positives: Location

Negatives: Bed bug, small room, and low quality room.

This is one of the better Hyatt's I have visited. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful, the best I have encountered at Hyatt. The in-room dining was prompt and pretty good. The bottled water was the only inconvenience, I had to keep going to lounge, where it's cheaper. No microwave or refrigerator in room. Valet is $15/d, not bad compared to other 4star hotels. Although, they do NOT provide 24 hour valet service.

Positives: Appearance very nice. Comfortable room/bed. Lots of outlets. Friendly staff.

Negatives: Small bathroom. Old TV. Valet is NOT 24 hours. Bottled water priced from $2 - 5!!!

I remember the days the Hyatt had the tram to the mall. Those days were great because one could shop, return to the hotel conveniently with packages and to freshen and return to the mall. I was expecting this hotel to have declined since the late 70s, but
I found that it was very nice still.

Positives: I had a sense of nostalgia as I stayed at this hotel over 30 years ago.

Negatives: Everything was great.

We were very pleased the the service, and the friendliness of the staff. We asked our bellhop what other restaurant he'd recommend and he took the time to draw directions for us. They took very good care of us and the hotel was attractive and well maintained.

Positives: Staff made our anniversary special, with complimentary breakfast and champaign and

Negatives: Room service dishes remained in hallways awhile.

The hotel was a good location to all youth hockey areas and close to shopping.

Positives: Very clean and lot of room for the kids hockey team to Rome.

Negatives: The wait at the elevators.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 01 Oct 2010 rated 9 out of 10.

Have stayed there before and would stay there again.

Positives: Lobby and elevator area is lovely.

Negatives: Kids running around.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 17 Aug 2010 rated 10 out of 10.

This hotel was very nice - but the lack of free Internet was rather bogus. The pool area seemed too cool. For it being a 4 star hotel, I expected a little more -- and didn't get it. Don't get me wrong, the stay was pleasant, and the room clean, I guess I just thought it would be even fancier. And again, the lack of Internet was bogus.

Positives: Beautiful lobby.

Negatives: No free Internet.

I would recommend this hotel to family and friends. Great place to stay while in DTW.

Positives: The staff went out of their way to help.

Negatives: Hard to find after dark.

Great hotel; loved it aside from the bed size.

Positives: Great place to stay, fairly central to Detroit and points of interest.

Negatives: Double beds were quite small for a family of four.

The hotel was pretty and all the staff we encountered were exceptionally nice. The room was really nice, but for a 4 star, I would have liked the
TV to be bigger.

Overall, I was pleased with my stay there.

Positives: I liked the bed and the room decor.

Negatives: There was a wet spot in the floor for 2 days. The shower drain was slow.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 30 Jul 2010 rated 10 out of 10.

This place is beautiful. I asked for 3 things to be brought to my room on separate occasions and they were always there in less than 10 minutes. Staff is really friendly and attentive.

Positives: Everything was beautiful. Everyone was nice and helpful.

Negatives: There wasn't a trash can in the bathroom so I had to leave my trash on the counter.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 23 Jul 2010 rated 9 out of 10.

This is a very nice hotel, certainly have no complaints. I would have liked free WiFi, but I was not there to do computer work so all is well. If you are looking for something really romantic, this is not it. This is a really nice, clean and quiet place to stay.

Positives: Everything you need is within a 5 minutes drive.

Negatives: Would have liked free WiFi.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 15 Jun 2010 rated 10 out of 10.

Even though the hotel is over 30 years old, it feels very modern and elegant. All staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable, clean. I cannot think of anything negative to say about my experience.

Positives: Everything.

Negatives: It can be confusing to get to.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 04 Jun 2010 rated 10 out of 10.

Overall, this hotel was a great place to stay. The facilities were beautiful and the rooms were very clean and planned in a way that seemed to maximize its space. I would definitely use this hotel again if I was in the area.

Positives: Air conditioner was on a thermostat and very quiet.

Negatives: Could easily hear noise in the hallways.

Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 20 May 2010 rated 8 out of 10.

The room was very clean and well taken care of, I was surprised that they still had older Televisions and not flat screens yet, but we did not watch much TV. The staff was very attentive and very friendly. The pool and work out facility was in strange location, you had to walk past the conference rooms to get to the pool, other than that very nice.

Positives: Clean and very nice.

Negatives: The restaurant, room service, and bar were expensive.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 21 Mar 2010 rated 10 out of 10.

This hotel was very nice. It was in location that was close to eating and shopping. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The rooms were nice, except for the tub faucets were old and one even fell off at one time. The AC/heating did not work well. They actually moved us to another room because the
AC was not working, but the room they moved us to was not much better. To compensate for the inconvenience the manager allowed us to order room service that night, which was nice since we had two small children. The bellman also gave us coupons for breakfast. I thought they went over and beyond to make up for the bad AC. Even with having to move, it was a great stay and that was due to the great customer service we received!

Positives: I liked the fact that it was very nice looking and had an elegant entrance.

Negatives: Tub/shower and AC.

Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 28 Jan 2010 rated 6 out of 10.

While the hotel is beautiful, and the bedding is comfortable, the seating leaves a lot to be desired, I was surprised.

Positives: In the mall parking lot.

Negatives: Walls are paper thin, could hear traffic in hall, and other rooms.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 19 Jan 2010 rated 10 out of 10.

We had no problems finding this beautiful hotel. When we walked through the front doors, my mood changed with romance in the air. We both had an amazing weekend.

Positives: The design of this hotel was truly amazing. Made my weekend fun and romantic.

Negatives: The parking lot walk was too long and cold.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sat 16 Jan 2010 rated 7 out of 10.

Longtime 4-star hotel that really is about 3.5, as the rooms need upgraded (at least the bathroom, anyway).

Positives: Rooms and hallways extremely quiet, doors don't slam.

Negatives: Poor water pressure, water could be hotter, bathrooms dated, pay for internet.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 15 Jan 2010 rated 8 out of 10.

The hotel staff was excellent. The overall experience was good, but the rooms (two that I spent time in) seemed to be just a bit lacking in maintenance/upkeep.

Positives: The atrium arrangement of the hotel was nice.

Negatives: Extra cost for internet access.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 27 Dec 2009 rated 10 out of 10.

Anniversary date with my wife. A wonderful place to relax in comfort. Staff went out of their way to be welcoming.

Positives: A great room with great amenities.

Negatives: Cost of valet parking was high $15!

Reviewer: Not provided on Sat 26 Dec 2009 rated 5 out of 10.

Rooms were just about average and not to Hyatt standards. They charge for holding packets (small ones) also.

Positives: Public places in the hotel were nice.

Negatives: Hidden costs and not so great room.
