Lodgecliffe on the Choptank
Cambridge, Maryland
Lodgecliffe on the Choptank is a bed & breakfast located in Cambridge.
Built in 1898, Lodgecliffe is a gracious turn-of-the-century country home perched on a bluff overlooking the wide expanse of the lower Choptank River, the setting for James Michener's book, Chesapeake. Owned and operated by Sarah Richardson, Lodgecliffe opened as the first bed and breakfast in Dorchester County in 1986 and quickly became a haven for locals and travelers alike. After Sarah's passing in 2005, the home was lovingly renovated by her son Dawson.
Each guest suite was beautifully redesigned and a large deck and screen porch were added taking full advantage of its stunning river setting. In keeping with Sarah's tradition of hospitality, we invite you to experience the delight, charm, romance and relaxation that is Lodgecliffe.
Places to eat within 5km of Lodgecliffe on the Choptank include Bistro Poplar, J.m. Clayton Company, Jimmie & Sook's, and Snappers Waterfront Cafe.
