Remember it's not a chain and it's extremely outdated. It was fine for the time I was there, but I would not stay there ever again nor would I recommend it to friends. In fact, I won't admit that I stayed there. The parking was good though, safe, secure and only $3. But it was at the hospital garage down the street. Not a bad neighborhood.

Positives: Good location for my purposes. Safe, secure, cheap parking.

Negatives: Old, musty, run down.

I would rather pay twice the amount than stay here ever again.

Positives: Nothing.

Negatives: Parking 2 blocks away in public parking lot.

Not for the uptight or luxury seeker. This place has old world rustic bohemian charm and the employees are friendly, warm, and laid back. Rooms are very clean albeit a little chipped paint here and there, no big deal. It's a walk up building and hallways and staircase are a little creaky, the courtyard is really cozy and sweet, it can only really be appreciated by creative people. I found it very homey and comfortable. Conservatives would think it's appalling I'm sure.

Positives: Bohemian, charming, laid back, old world, friendly.

Negatives: Had to ring bell to enter at all times.

Other than the cat, the place was lovely, the historical setting of the building was amazing. The clerks were very knowledgeable and accommodating.

Positives: It was close to the hospital.

Negatives: I had just had a kidney transplant. They had a cat and I could not be around animals.

To boot, the owner would not comp for us staying in this filthy place, neither would he Walk our reservation to another facility.

Positives: Nothing.

Negatives: The room was nasty, holes in the wall, bed bugs in/on the bed, never ever recommend this place to me again.

For the price, that's the cheapest hotel around the area with basic commodities such as wireless internet and free coffee in the room. I'm young and fit, but it was a pain to have to carry the suitcase up the stairs, and the 3rd floor they call is actually on the 4th level, so it's quite a climb. Surprisingly they had a cooker as well, but no pots/pans so guess not much use. The water in the bath takes about 10 minutes to warm up, but it does get pretty hot so I had no problems. I walked around the area and it didn't feel too bad although not very sure. The staff was just normal, not too friendly or rude. I would stay again for that price!

Positives: Price, access to Univ of MD, wireless internet, warm.

Negatives: 3rd floor is actually on the 4th level, late breakfast (7 am start).

Nice and cozy like a bed and breakfast.

Positives: Nice, not far from downtown.

Negatives: Had to go outside to get to room.

The wonderful architecture of this hotel compliments the exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. Though the Biltmore does not offer what most would consider essentials for a hotel, like WiFi or a plethora of electrical outlets, it retains an old world charm that makes this location my preferred stop in Baltimore. Each room is individually decorated and appointed with a spacious cabinet fridge, a microwave and an electric burner, along with plates and tableware.

Positives: Victorian architecture. Excellently decorated.

Negatives: No elevator, only one room on first floor, no parking (must park in nearby pay lots).

In addition to being a bit musty and dusty, our room was a third floor walk up with no assistance to carry bags. The walls between the rooms were not sound proof, allowing our neighbors fighting and young children crying to waken us at 2 am at which time we called the front desk and complained. Some attempts had been made to brighten up the room with new curtains and stenciling on the walls, but the overall feeling was drab.

Positives: Historic building, interesting architecture.

Negatives: Sheets & bathroom clean; some attempts at improving decor; room and public areas dusty.

While I expected a nostalgic feel to the hotel as the building was built in the 1800s I did not expect to see dust from the 1800s. The room was not very clean. A broken TP dispenser was on top of medicine cabinet covered in dust. The old mount brackets for multiple towel racks were still on the wall. Had no heat or hot water my first night in hotel. Elevator was out and I had to carry bags up 8 flights of stairs. I booked 3 nights but only stayed 2.

Positives: The staff was polite and helpful.

Negatives: Limited on street parking or parking garage 1.5 blocks away.

The hotel is beautiful, the architecture is fantastic. It has however seen better days and they were quite a while ago. The room was clean and spacious with our free suite upgrade decorated with colors and furniture that reminded me of the good old days, but the mattresses were very old and very soft. The staff was helpful and courteous. It's advertised as in the "Inner Harbor" neighborhood, but the inner harbor and ballpark were a 1.5 mile walk away through a neighborhood that made me remind myself to put my money in my sock. Being the adventurous don't really like the cookie cutter hotel chains types that we are, we'd probably stay there again. If you're fond of the Holiday Inn and Ramada I'd recommend shelling out the extra few dollars and stay there.

Positives: Beautiful architecture, stunning details.

Negatives: Definitely seen better days.

Positives: Nothing.

Interesting place, lots of history but room was in disrepair. Tables and nightstands had many burns in them and looked bad. No hot water and room is rather small.

Positives: Interesting neighborhood, close to museum.

Negatives: In disrepair, no hot water.

The hotel is nice and it's very clean. The staff was good, very friendly, knowledgeable about Baltimore and where to go and what to see. Very helpful. The neighborhood can only be described as ghetto. Boarded up buildings, homeless people, etc. If you're out after dark, as we planned to be, it's a big risk to life and wallet. After touring neighborhood in daylight, we checked out and went to Days Inn. I would never go there again.

Positives: Very clean and well kept-friendly helpful staff.

Negatives: Terrible neighborhood-likely to get mugged.
