I was first checked into a room that was extremely small. It only had one bed for four people. They brought a roll away, but the room was so small that you had to crawl over the bed to get to the bathroom with the roll away in there. After firmly complaining, I was given an acceptable room with 2 double beds. As far as the other aspects of the hotel, it was very interesting and educational. It was certainly a unique place to stay.
Positives: This hotel is a historic landmark that offered a unique experience for my family.
Negatives: I was first put into a room that was unacceptably small and had to complain in order to get another.

Positives: Staff were very helpful.
Negatives: Small room.

Great atmosphere, great architecture, great service and overall great location. The staff was wonderful and the accommodations met our expectations. We tried to upgrade from a two double bed room to one with a Queen, but were told we could not<BR/> (they were very nice about explaining the reason for not upgrading). The room was comfortable and quiet. Very nice experience overall.
Positives: We loved the nostalgic feel of the hotel. It was like stepping back in time.
Negatives: Not so nice seeing neon and hearing loud music outside the hotel as it is located near 4th Street Live.

If the bathroom was larger and internet was free, I'd have given them a 5 star rating. The Seelbach fits the definition of a grand old hotel well and only needs a few minor tweaks to meet the criterion completely.
Positives: Great traditional Southern Ambiance and luxury atmosphere.
Negatives: Bathroom much too small, 9.95 charge for internet.

Very nice with a warm and classy feel.
Positives: History and closeness to entertainment.
Negatives: Bathroom.

Very old fashion and traditional; however instead of looking vintage the amenities in the room appeared a little old and dull. The "queen" bed was actually a double but the location is great and the staff was friendly enough.
Positives: It has a great location and the staff was helpful and enthusiastic.
Negatives: The bed was too small; the amenities in the room are not what I expected from a 4 star hotel.

The hotel is great; it is your service that is in question. I paid you for 3 nights and you received your money but denied the hotel their payment and now they have charged me an additional fee for the unpaid balance you were supposed to pay.
Positives: It had a beautiful atmosphere and was a pleasure to stay at.
Negatives: They over charge on the parking garage, they charge $5 more than just paying the garage directly.

Overall it was a wonderful stay. Both the closet and bathroom were a little small, and the internet access was a ridiculous $9.95 per day, but the overall experience was very good. The staff of the hotel were VERY attentive.
Positives: Historic feel
Negatives: Internet Access was $9.95 per day

An incredibly neat and historical hotel with classy lobby and restaurant areas. We requested a refrigerator and was told by the front desk it would be sent up. It never arrived during our 4 days there. We had a family of 4. The first day one of the housekeeping staff offered extra towels. We accepted. Even though the housekeeping staff always collected 6 towels each day they would only leave 2. I would have assumed that they knew our reservations was for four persons. Why only leave 2 towels. The bathrooms were very small and the bathroom location was quite inconvenient for a family.
Positives: Historical, Classical
Negatives: Small bathrooms

Beautiful hotel and 1/2 block from 4th Street Live (Louiville's new downtown entertainment spot). I will stay there again when I'm in town.
Positives: Close to main attractions downtown.
Negatives: Promised an early check-in that didn't happen.

While steeped in history the Seelbach is not a four-star hotel due to its very confining rooms and clumsy arrangement. The staff, however, makes staying there bearable as they are very attentive and good-natured.
Positives: The staff is excellent.
Negatives: The rooms are waaaay to smallI mean teeny tiny and not 4-star.

Amazing staff - very friendly and most helpful. If you stay duing summer between wed and sat ask for room away from 4th street. 4th street is turned into burbon street during this time and can be loud till late in the morning.
Positives: Excellent staff. Very friendly and helpful.
Negatives: A/C poor in room.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Seelbach, but it's probably not the best place for a family. The rooms are tiny, and the TV is blocked by the posters of the four poster beds. That said, it was very clean, and well-located, and was a good deal for the price.
Positives: The staff was wonderfully helpful and friendly.
Negatives: The rooms were very small and not entirely user-friendly.

It was a really neat hotel. The area didn't feel extremely safe at night, but the parking garage behind the hotel led directly to an entrance.
Positives: It had a great historical feel
Negatives: the sink in the bathroom backed up and filled with water we could not empty

Excellent hotel, historic and clean. Great restaurants and food.
Positives: Great food, friendly staff
Negatives: Shower door leaked

This hotel should definitely not be a four-star hotel. It should be listed separately as a historic hotel. To list it as four star is very misleading, since it was cramped and uncomfortable, with no luxuries like a pool.
Positives: Convenient to Fourth Street Live""
Negatives: Tiny rooms, claustrophobic, no pool or hot tub, tiny old elevators

Lovely, 100 year old classic. Rooms are small.Louisville is a quaint place. Makes for a fun weekend.Would only stay at the Seelbach or The Brown. Both Excellent. However, I paid way more than I should have.
Positives: historic old school tasteful
Negatives: The bar food was bad. The concierge hospitality was cheesy.

When we arrived the hotel was pretty inside the lobby but the service wasn't what I expected..the room didn't even have a bathtub...I would NEVER want to stay here again...
Positives: The price I would have been more dissapointed if I had paid more!
Negatives: It didn't have a bathtub and I was dissapointed ...expected a nicer place for what they charge
