I've lived in Louisville all my life and have dealt with most hotels here either as a musical entertainer, guest and lately as a trip advisor contributor. My husband and I celebrated an anniversary with a dinner and night at the Marriott. It was an Iron man weekend and the hotel was busy. The first room they assigned us had no air conditioning. Not wanting to wait for maintenance we agreed to stay in a conference room with a Murphy style (pull down) bed. We snuggled in and rented a movie. My husband got up to get the remote and tripped on a protruding part of the frame which couldn't be seen with the covers down and lights low. Later, barefoot, I got up to use the bathroom and ran into the metal protrusion which sliced my big toenail in half. I bled a lot , had extreme pain and lost 3/4 of my big toenail. The next day, I wrote to the Marriott via their website and told them of the incident and the dangers I saw in that bed. Corporate Marriott wrote me the next day saying the local office would contact me in 3-5 days. It's been 12 days now, even after I wrote a second letter attaching a picture of my mangled and painful toe. <BR> I have yet to decide how to pursue this, but I will caution anyone from booking here based upon this experience. God help the person who may suffer a life threatening injury!
Positives: Good location.
Negatives: No entertainment, no follow up on customer care (injury).

The hotel is nice - a very large lobby with the parking garage under the hotel. The rooms were clean and luxurious, but the pillows were way too soft. Parking and Internet access were extra and should have been included for the price. The pool is nice and there is a large spa.
Positives: The folks at the front desk were friendly and there were no lines.
Negatives: Internet and parking charges.

The lobby gives high hopes which were dashed by the undersized, very plain-Jane room. The guest services were very nice and seemed to like their work. Often complimentary services come with a fee here which is fine if the rooms are exceptional, which these are not. There is a touch of elegance, but it is offset by the lack of going the distance; nothing special.
Positives: The lobby and restaurant area were modern and impressive, though rather small.
Negatives: Not geared toward families, no freebies (continental breakfast was $14. I have two young children).

This is a very nice Marriott with a lovely restaurant and comfy bar area. It's proximity to 4th street means you don't have to take a taxi to get to all the fun things in this area. My room was clean and the bed was so comfy. The bathroom is spacious and everything was well maintained. Front desk was so friendly and helpful.
Positives: Its walking distance to all the fun things at 4th Street.
Negatives: $21 for parking.

Positives: Location and the lovely Asian girl at the desk.

It was just what you would expect (and hope for) in a downtown hotel.
Positives: It felt clean. Duvets with covers are definitely better than yucky bedspreads.
Negatives: Nothing, it was just fine.

Clean, better than expected, rooms were nice and beds were very comfortable. Enjoyed the toiletries in bathroom.
Positives: Location to downtown activities.
Negatives: Hotel staff at check in tried to charge us for the room and didn't want to listen.

This is the full service Marriott in downtown Louisville, well- located for downtown activities and attractions.
Positives: Good location and
Negatives: Parking was expensive - $21.00 for a stay of less than 24 hours.

I checked out and the young lady at the desk told me to just swipe my room key to exit the parking garage. It didn't recognize my room key, and I had cars behind me, so I was forced to insert a credit card to exit. The charge was $22 for 1 night, which was outrageous but I had no choice and did not have time to go back upstairs to the front desk. The hotel was great, but this kind of surprise will cause me not to return.
Positives: Look at how I rated the hotel.
Negatives: They stuck me with a $22 parking fee.

Overall a very pleasant experience.
Positives: Hotel gave me free parking for becoming a Marriott rewards member.
Negatives: $21/day to park is outrageous.

I loved how there is a Starbucks downstairs in the lobby with a nice restaurant pub right by it. Walking distance to many attractions downtown.
Positives: Great customer service, the room we stayed in had a beautiful view of Louisville downtown.
Negatives: The hotel was great, there were just a few things that I expected from a 3 star hotel. Microwave, a better coffee maker.

In the past I had always stayed at the Hyatt Downtown. This property exceeded the expectations I had become accustomed to while staying in Louisville. The Marriot Downtown is a very nice weekend getaway or business friendly location. Property is located within a short walking distance to a huge variety of restaurants, entertainment, and riverside attractions. One disappointment was the earlier than normal check out time of 11 AM and no option for a later checkout. Our room was a corner room with magnificent views of the city. I will definitely stay at this property again when I return to Louisville for either business or pleasure. Major attributes include: decor, friendly staff, excellent room service menu, dedicated parking garage, location.
Positives: The decor, lobby area, and staff are all major selling points with this property.
Negatives: Parking was overpriced for the area and was a hidden cost in staying with the property.

Everything you would expect from Marriot, a bit more excitement and style.
Positives: Hotel lobby. Blu restaurant.
Negatives: Nothing.

I will stay there again. The best room service I have ever had. Awesome food.
Positives: Everything was perfect great service.
Negatives: The keys did not work I had to get them changed 2 times.

The Marriot in Downtown Louisville is located near a predominant night spot where I was going to celebrate my birthday.
Positives: Nice rooms.
Negatives: The hotel staff was intrusive and unprofessional.

Had it not been for our room location, this would have been a great hotel stay. It really is a very nice hotel, very clean, friendly staff, classy. But we were put in a corner room on the sixth floor that appears to have very poor sound insulation. Not only did we hear street traffic all night, including sirens, but there was a large night club across the street from us (6 Clubs in one block or something like that). We had to listen to the music and base till after 3 AM. It turned a great experience into a night of sleeplessness.
Positives: Classy and clean. Great hotel.
Negatives: Loud night club across the street that kept us up all night. Stay was ruined by lack of sleep.

Beautiful entry way, great valet parking service, it was close to the attractions downtown but if you wanted to leave you could go just a few miles to the other destinations.
Positives: Beautiful hotel & service was great. Close to all of downtown attractions.
Negatives: Loud banging noise was heard above us, either kid bouncing a basketball or hammering.
