Very different layout. Feels like staying inside a ship. Very few outside windows.
Positives: Funky decor and layout . . . train cars are inside the building.
Negatives: Unimpressive lobby.

Very great parking worse problem.
Positives: Very friendly.
Negatives: Parking very high priced.

The pipes were old and rusty. When I ran the water it started out brown. Garage feels unsafe. Food was good and reasonably priced the rooms were clean. Need more variety in the stations on television.
Positives: Staff was very nice and friendly.
Negatives: You could feel the trains going at all times of the night.

The people in pool sounded as if they were in our room screaming out of control, room was fairly small but clean, room dark and needed lights, statues are nice but kind of earie. A refrigerator would have been nice.
Positives: Location and clean.
Negatives: Pool very loud and cost of parking and small rooms.

I have stayed several times at this hotel. The room on this trip was the quietest that I have been assigned. Avoid the pool or spa area - very noisy and humid. I found the staff very friendly and helpful on this visit.
Positives: I like the location, close to the Downtown shopping, etc.
Negatives: You can hear the trains from underneath and the thunderstorms overhead.

The hotel is a bit older but the train station theme is cute.
Positives: The location.
Negatives: The water pressure in the shower.

The star rating for this hotel is perfect.
Positives: The room was first class. Clean with a terrific king size bed.
Negatives: The TV could be updated to flat screen.

I stayed on the third floor and the windows only rattled a little. The original train station is attached to the hotel. It is well worth the time to view this beautifully restored elegant train station.
Positives: The hotel is historic and beautiful. Staff is very friendly.
Negatives: Parking was too expensive for downtown Indianapolis.

Negatives: No free breakfast.

If you like trains you will like this hotel. We heard trains the first time and never noticed them much at all. They do supply earplugs!
Positives: Was connected to the Convention center where my daughter graduated by a walkway!
Negatives: Old and worn.

This was the worst hotel stay I have ever had, hands down! The room apparently backed-up to a conference room/storage area of something. I could hear doors in the hotel shut so loudly that it sounded like the door to my own room was being slammed shut. The floors and walls literally shook (from what I never completely figured out) and combined the amount of noise I thought that an earthquake was happening. It was so bad that I checked out early.
Positives: Location.
Negatives: Comfort.

I think the hotel was nice, but as I said needs a laundry room. I was there for National Golden Gloves and I am sure with the Convention Center and all it rooms there are people from all walks of life. A laundry room would definitely be utilized. If my son had won I would have been there until Sunday. I like that there was WiFi and a computer available for use.
Positives: I like the history of its location, the Union train station and the fact that it was connected to the Convention Center.
Negatives: I didn't like that it didn't have a laundry room especially with the train-rooms,this would seem to be much more family friendly.

The hotel has a lot of character with the train cars rooms. The location is great for downtown activities. The parking fee of $25.00 per night for self parking is too high and should be included in the bid price they accept.
Positives: Quiet, great downtown location. The train cars were very interesting to see.
Negatives: I feel that the parking fee should have been included in the price bid.

Loved the idea of staying in a historic train car. Too bad the room was dirty, the floors, walls, remote and bedding. The towels looked like John Philip Sousa used them himself, tattered and dingy! Loud and hard to sleep.
Positives: Cool train cars.
Negatives: Dirty and loud.

It was extremely pleased with hotel stay. Location is convenient to dining and attractions. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Lobby and halls were very clean.
Positives: Convenient location.
Negatives: Outdoor valet was too expensive.

OK hotel, but not 3.5 stars. First room had water backed up into bathtub. Second room was very nice. Although I was warned at the front desk, you should not underestimate the impact of trains running through the hotel, (also a former train station) at all hours. I was on the third floor and it still shook everything in the room, including me. Valet parking still leaves your car outside all night.
Positives: Good location.
Negatives: First room was dirty. Trains run through the hotel, rattling everything in the room.

Crowne Plaza Union Station is a beautiful hotel with a very nice ambiance. The train car rooms are amazing. Very nice exercise/fitness center and beautiful pool and whirlpool. I wish we had more time during our stay to use the facilities more fully, but our days were packed with other activities.
Positives: The historical aspect of being part of Union Station.
Negatives: Cross walk to Convention Center was closed due to constructions.

I will definitely stay at this hotel again. It was a very enjoyable stay. The pool is very relaxing and quite. There is a running train station and there was some rumbling from that, but not enough to wake you up in the night. Parking is a little crazy, but hopefully that will be something that they can work on. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
Positives: Service was great, room amazing, pool very relaxing. Right downtown close to everything!
Negatives: Only con was the parking. There is no hotel parking have to use city parking and for one day it was $20, would be nice to have free parking!

I would recommend this hotel to anyone, young and old. Its whole atmosphere was very unique and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Its right in the heart of downtown Indy, so anything we wanted to do was within walking distance. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I felt like I had stepped back into time when I entered the hotel because of the train station theme.
Positives: It was located within walking distance of all the downtown activities.
Negatives: Nothing.

Positives: Luxuriously comfortable bed.
Negatives: My complimentary newspaper was taken from outside my door.

This hotel is interesting and ecclectic. It is located in an old train station, and you can occasionally hear a train going through.
Positives: Interesting layout.
Negatives: Non-smoking, concern about safety.

We did not see anyone else until Friday morning when we checked out & then it was just the people that worked there. We even had the entire restaurant to ourselves for breakfast. Made us wonder why.
<BR/>
Positives: Staff was friendly & helpful.
Negatives: Small rooms, no views & sits next to railroad track. Trains do run all night.

Positives: It was attached to a train station and had old train cars as rooms.
Negatives: Need to upgrade the TV in the room.

They gave earplugs on the bed and relaxing CD for good reason. The train sounded like a tornado or a terrorist attack. My non pillow top bed sloped from wear. Overall looked and felt clean and 3 star. Very cheap and conveniently located to circle center. Expect another $25. for parking in this location. Good staff and they even let me check out an hour late. The trip was so fun and inexpensive that the drawbacks paled and I would have stayed again in a Heartbeat.
Positives: Looked nice, close to circle center and restaurants.
Negatives: 2 loud trains and worn, non pillow top mattress sloped.

The Crowne Plaza is a clean, beautiful, comfortable hotel with friendly staff. The location is perfect, right in downtown Indy walking distance from shopping, restaurants, night life, etc.
Positives: Location in downtown Indy.
Negatives: Not all rooms have windows to outdoors.

The hotel was ok, but not to my standards for a 3 star hotel. The rooms are way to small, the bathrooms are bigger in jail.
Positives: The beds were awesome. Great sleep, we over slept.
Negatives: Way too small. No public parking, valet parking was outrageous.
Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 08 Aug 2008 rated 8 out of 10.
Overall, this was a decent hotel experience. However, the first night, things nearly got a bit ugly. There was a large, noisy group outside the room until 4AM, including a woman who was drunk/lost knocking on our door at about 3:30. Plus, we were unaware that it was on active train tracks, with trains running through at all hours. Although we only noticed them first night. Room was nice, if a little on the small side. (That's pretty standard in a downtown big city hotel though, no?) Pool was decent. Valet parking was $24/night, plus tips on in/out. I'd like the opportunity to see inside one of the train car rooms - I bet my kids would love it!
Positives: Convenient location with downtown access.
Negatives: Noisy (parties, trains), expensive parking.
Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 04 Aug 2008 rated 10 out of 10.
Based on our experience, traveling with one child, we could recommend it to other families, but it also could be a great place to getaway for a romantic trip and quite a few areas to shop in right around the hotel.
Positives: The hotel was built inside the old train station, which gave it a lot of character.
Negatives: Does not apply.
