Staff is not friendly from the gate guard to the hotel check-in, not a good first impression, Hotel is 30 miles from Kona, nothing around it, not even a gas stations. Traffic backs up from miles when you do try to drive the 30 miles to Kona.

Positives: The beach is great.

Negatives: Staff is arrogant and unfriendly.

We never would have been able to afford to stay at this property otherwise. I highly recommend the property, along with virtually all of the others on the Kohala Coast--Mauna Lani, Waikoloa Hilton & Marriott, and of course Hualalai.

Positives: Incredible location, particularly enjoyed yoga classes.

Negatives: Front desk staff were not particularly friendly given overall hotel quality.

Over the years we have been to Mauna Kea 18 times. It is perfect!!!

Positives: Tennis,Golf,Beach.Food All are wonderful

Negatives: Having poor weather.Which we haven't had so far
