Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and pool was wonderful. At first they gave us a room that was absolutely terrible with no view, dark and cramped. We asked for a different room and were given a better room tho I was expecting a better view and higher quality. Overall however, the experience turned out better than we thought. Location was excellent, the beach was stellar and the "sun" made everything better.
Positives: Location was great. Clean and friendly tho room had no view and outdated. Experience overall good tho.
Negatives: Room had no view and was somewhat outdated.

I am sure there are some nice rooms in this complex. The rooms are very dated (1970s) and kind of dirty.

Sandwiched between more upscale resorts, this hotel is a cheaper alternative in Ka'anapali. If you're happy to do your own cooking, kitchenette units are a great choice.
Positives: Great location.
Negatives: Highway side can be noisy.

The hotel is in a good location. On a very nice beach, and close to Lahaina. The external appearance is nice and well kept, but the rooms are older and run down.
Positives: Location is good.
Negatives: Rooms older and run down.

My family with my wife and two college age children recently spent eight fun filled days at the Maui Westin Ka'anapali Villas. I can honestly say it exceeded all of our expectations for a active, yet restful vacation. The combination of sun bathing by the pool, snorkeling right outside the resort, or going for a short trip to the mountains for Ziplining, or going to the Whalers Village to eat at Hulas Grill (try the Hula pie), Luaus in Laina, Parasailing, etc. The amenities on the resort (outside grills, health clubs, onsite restaurants, general store, frog hunting at night.) made the vacation one that will be talked about for years to come. In fact, by the time we left, we became vacation owners ourselves. Would highly recommend a stay for anyone looking to great time in Maui.
Positives: Very friendly hotel staff(concierge, vallet service), great location (close to beaches, restaurants, Whalers Village, water sports), great pools, health clubs.
Negatives: Both ATM and DVD Rental machines in both north and south lobbies were out of order all week.

Very good deal for the money. Nice pool, restaurant satisfactory, good for teens.
Positives: Good location, pool, nice landscaping, good price.
Negatives: 2 rooms we reserved were on separate floors. would have preferred on same floor and not ground.

Everything was undergoing remodeling at the moment. (Hallways, lobby, painting the railings, etc). There was a small temporary lobby set up. They have Internet access, but it is 20 cents/ minute. That being said, the location is nice and convenient to Lahaina. We enjoyed the pool and the beautiful Kaanapali Beach. The restaurant was just OK, but there are plenty of food options in the area. It's a good location if you're traveling on a budget.
Positives: Pool was nice. Beach location was great.
Negatives: Everything was under construction. Some rooms may have been redone but ours was not - therefore did not live up to status.

Positives: Great location and
Negatives: Needs updating.

Hotel geared towards very mature patrons. I would not recommend to anyone and would not go back again. Very outdated and needs to be renovated. Some staff members were friendly some were not.
Positives: Room was OK and close to the beach.
Negatives: Facilities were just horrible. Hotel itself and facilities were very outdated especially the gym.

Over all I enjoyed it. The only thing was that it was under construction before we arrived. Also we had maintenance coming into our room to work on the air conditioning while we were trying to eat our lunch. Other then that everything else was good.
Positives: Close to the ocean, dining and shopping. Very convenient.
Negatives: Was under construction near room. Was noisy at times especially in the mornings while trying to eat breakfast on the patio.

They charge you a daily maintenance fee plus charge you for everything from the towel they leave in your room to a chair by the beach! Half the people that work there are nice. The man at the front desk, daytime, is extremely rude. He hung up on my twice and my daughter once when we called down to ask him a question. The rooms are dated and the beds are very uncomfortable. The only good thing I can say about this place was that the area was fantastic but you might as well stay at a decent hotel next door!
Positives: Liked the area but would've rather stayed at the hotel next door.
Negatives: The man at the front desk was entirely rude!

When we checked into the hotel because the staff was so helpful and the accommodations so nice. They let us check in early and hit the pool. Our room was huge. The kitchen was great and everything was so clean. We took advantage of the free shuttle too. We liked it so much, we decided to extend our stay and the manager graciously gave us a discount without any haggling. It was our anniversary and we had a fabulous time!
Positives: Free shuttle, good beach, cheap lunch, nice pool, helpful staff.
Negatives: Bug spray in our room/expensive cabanas.

During our stay parts of the complex were under renovation so all areas were not accessible. The one bedroom lofts were very nice and had a pull out bed for the children. We found it odd that we had to use our bath towels from our room for the beach but once we kept the first day's set we always had extras to take to the beach. The property had great beach access to a nice beach (Kahekili) and a newly remodeled main pool with a bridge that visually separated deep from shallow ends, a kiekie pool, a 7 foot deep end and a hot tub.
Positives: The beach, the main pool and the view of the sunset.
Negatives: We had to use our bath towels from the room for the beach and room.

Excellent location with amenities.
Positives: The interior furniture was top grade plus the bed was comfortable.
Negatives: The lanai was kind of smallish.

Would not stay again. Great location but that's all!
Positives: Friendly staff but hotel needs work.
Negatives: Hotel needs a major face lift.

We checked in and received a room with a king sized bed, which was fine. I am diabetic and needed to store my insulin. The refrigerator was not working properly and the freezer needed to be defrosted. There was no way to get ice since they don't have an ice machine. I was told to make my own ice with the freezer. I asked if someone could come out and defrost the refrigerator to make ice and was promised they would. No one came. Finally on the 2nd day of our 3 day stay, I insisted on a new frig. That was finally brought. There was a large hole in the wall in the room and the bathroom was small and old. The people at the desk were rude to us. Upon checking out, I was told I had to pay a condo fee, which I refused to do. The desk person (man) through the bill and said he was not arguing with me when I refused to pay it. This place is by no means a 3.5 star. It is more a 2 star.
Positives: The hotel lobby was attractive.
Negatives: The place was nothing like in the picture. Nothing!

The people at this motel were the worlds best ambassadors for making your stay a perfect delight. We were totally impressed with the hotel, the staff, and the services. The restaurant was a great place to eat. We ended up spending the rest of the week at a condo in the same hotel.
Positives: The whole atmosphere was total godliness (if there is such a word) Pure beauty and comfort.
Negatives: Nothing.

Our room was spacious, clean and had an ocean view. The beach was great and we were next door to the Westin which had a nice beach too. The staff stored our luggage while we went on the Haleakala bike ride and was very nice about letting us take a shower upon our return even though check out time was 15 minutes later.
Positives: Location and the fact it had a kitchen, free parking and no extra hidden fees!
Negatives: There were not any towels by the pools for 2 days.

This hotel surpassed my expectations! We were given an upgrade at no extra cost and were always treated warmly and courteously, with the greatest hospitality. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary on my dream vacation to Hawaii. This was absolutely a dream come true. I loved every minute of my stay at this picturesque hotel! In every sense, it exemplified the ALOHA Spirit of the Islands.
Positives: They gave us an upgrade for no extra charge. It far exceeded my expectations! The hotel, personnel, restaurant, & beach were all fabulous! Loved it!
Negatives: It was a little far from the airport. Everything else was superb!

Our room was ok. The carpet had a few stains. We had a ground floor across from the laundry which I loved 2 lanais lots of storage, 5 minute walk to the beach, friendly staff, great trolley service to shopping as the parking in Lahaina is terrible! Great vacation planning on coming back with some Alaska friends.
Positives: The villas were convenient to shopping, quiet; staff was always aiming to please. We had a great vacation.
Negatives: We wish our room had a toaster and a microwave as the restaurants are very expensive in Maui. We found it hard to find parking at the hotel.
Reviewer: Not provided on Sat 23 Feb 2008 rated 9 out of 10.
Clean accommodations, pool and grounds nicely maintained. However, there is some sign of wear and tear to outside of buildings; that is to say plaster chipping and bubbling due to exposure to weather.
Positives: Staff was polite and other guests at hotel friendly.
Negatives: We were assigned a room near the highway some traffic noise.
