We attended a funeral on Monday and decided it was not worth traveling in the snow at night so we talked it over and thought this hotel was the best choice even though it was pricier. It was worth it.
Positives: Comfortable, quiet and the elevators worked!
Negatives: Getting into and out of is sometime challanging.

This was our first stay at the Doubletree in Durango. We dined at the hotel and had a wonderful experience with the service, waiter and quality of food. The location of the hotel is very nice.
Positives: We like being able to sit on the balcony and the access to the River Walk.
Negatives: The bed was too hard. It said sweet dreams bed but once you took the comforter off it was pretty hard.

Dingy, underwhelming, low-grade and truly over-priced.
Positives: The view.
Negatives: Everything besides the view.

I would recommend this hotel if you are staying in Durango. It is nicer than most in the area. It's time for some updates and remodeling. The bathrooms have recently been updated and are very nice.
Positives: The king room was spacious. The newly remolded bathrooms are very nice.
Negatives: Needs remolded. It's old and shows a lot of wear in the common areas, hallways and rooms.

The Durango Doubletree is quite nice, though a bit too long a walk to the main tourist district for younger children. Its convenient to a grocery store and easily accessible. When the indoor pool was closed for maintenance during spring break, they provided free passes to the local recreation center which was a fantastic bonus, the best pool I've ever experienced.
Positives: Very nice rooms and prompt service when requesting extra towels in the morning.
Negatives: During spring break for many public schools (including the local ones), the pool was closed for maintenance.

Nice hotel, great location. Especially helpful airport shuttle drivers. Airport shuttle service quite valuable. Saved me from the expense of renting a car or expensive taxi rides.
Positives: Good location, attractive, comfortable rooms.
Negatives: Can't think of anything.
