We have stayed at this hotel before and feel it is the best in the area. Because it is rated at 3-1/2 stars it gets put in the same category as the Concord Inn which is certainly not in the same class. As a result we can't negotiate a price to get this place or we end up in the Concord Inn.
Positives: Very clean.
Negatives: Parking.

Great for athletes or anyone who enjoys sports and fitness. Not a romantic destination.
Positives: Great indoor basketball court.
Negatives: Rooms were small, no late-night room service.

A very nice property with helpful staff. During several stays at this property, I have never had a single poor experience.
Positives: Very new and clean. Staff eager to please.
Negatives: Rooms on the small side.

It's true that valet parking is mandatory and costs $19 a day not including the usual $2 - $4 a day tip. While the attendants were very friendly, I would've preferred to park my own car. I left my phone in it and couldn't get it because I had no idea where the car was parked. I had to wait until they could find the time to go and get it for me. The room was a king room, not the suite so it was smaller than some of the other hotels we've been in. The food was over priced and because it's supposed to be healthy, normal things like sausage, didn't taste like sausage. The chicken wrap tasted like dirt. The location wasn't too bad. There's a nice walking trail that will take you into downtown Walnut Creek but it's a hike. The fitness club isn't just for hotel guests so it's always packed. People were waiting to get on treadmills. My husband said he would stay there again.
Positives: The walking trails.
Negatives: Everything is over priced.

We always love to stay here. We are gym rats so the sports club attached to the hotel is the best! The BART station is just across the street, very convenient. Walnut Creek is a darling town, great shops, restaurants and entertainment for any age.
Positives: Great workout facility.
Negatives: Bathroom amenities could be a bit better.

World-class gym attached to the hotel.
Positives: Kindness of staff in dealing with a family death.
Negatives: Nothing to eat after 10:00 pm.

Excellent hotel. Convenient location, clean and friendly. The facility is integrated with a Sports Club which has a gym, exercise and weight rooms.
Positives: Sports facility.
Negatives: No parking. Only parking available was by valet at $18/night.

Overall, this is one of my favorite hotels for business travel. It is tough to keep up on my physical fitness routine on the road. The Renaissance Club Sport makes it easy and enjoyable. It is as high of quality as the facility I belong to at home. The rooms are what I have come to expect from a higher end Marriott. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in the San Francisco East Bay area.
Positives: I loved the fact that it is connected to a major fitness facility.
Negatives: The price of the parking.

Negatives: Liked it all.

Positives: The gym is fabulous.
Negatives: Parking is tight.

Beautiful hotel, with great health club/spa on the premises (included with room). Top Quality all the way. My only complaint is that the only parking is valet parking at a very high price.
Positives: Beautiful and comfortable.
Negatives: High priced parking.

Great 24 hour stay! Used most of the facilities, restaurants and some services - all good. Really enjoyed everything. No views or balconies which we generally enjoy but services make up for that. Noon check-out was nice.
Positives: Health club, restaurant, pool, food.
Negatives: Slow registration, missing staff from front desk (no one there when we arrived - waited 5 minutes with another group, had to ask valet to find someone).

The hotel is clean, well run, friendly, and obviously operated by professional who do an excellent job. Everything I experienced was top quality.
Positives: Reception was very friendly, smart, and professional.
Negatives: I like to order hot chocolate made with milk for breakfast and it wasn't on the menu, but the server did make it for me. Thank you.

We have stayed here many time mainly because of the gym attached to the hotel. It is a great bonus to a gym rat couple who travel.
Positives: Great workout facility attached to hotel.
Negatives: Could have a better dinner.

Great concept if you know anyone interested in blending hospitality and fitness. I had the opportunity to enjoy fitness classes that I would not usually take and equipment I have not used. My room was right above the children's play area so I know they had fun too. Excellent staff and good attention to the details that make a difference.
Positives: Great concept if you know anyone interested in blending hospitality and fitness. Access to fitness classes & fantastic sports club!
Negatives: Valet parking only!

I normally would not have stayed at a 4-star hotel. Walnut Creek is not the most happening of places, but there is a nice little downtown area to explore as well as Mount Diablo State Park nearby. The hotel itself definitely lives up to it's 4-star rating. There is a very nice gym with tons of elliptical, treadmills and free weights. I didn't use the studio workout rooms or the basketball/volleyball courts though. The lockers were very posh and the Jacuzzi and sauna rooms were a plus, though the outdoor pools were a tad small for my taste. The only bad thing about this place is that there is required valet parking at either $15 or $18 per night (I think Friday and Saturday nights are $15 each and all other nights are $18).
Positives: I really like the gym and workout facilities.
Negatives: I did not like that there was mandatory valet parking.

A nice business hotel in the middle of Walnut Creek, CA. The sports center gives the lobby a sportive look and feel. The restaurant needs a lot of work on food and service.
Positives: Rooms are small. Bathrooms are large and very nice.
Negatives: The view of the wall from the window.

I have stayed at this hotel for several visits. The beds are very comfortable, the staff is always friendly, and it has a convenient location to Bart.
Positives: Hotel Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Negatives: Only double beds, should be queen size.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed in. Check in time was 3:00 PM and we got there at 8:00 PM for them to tell us that the room is not ready because they had no linens for the beds.
Positives: The location.
Negatives: The Staff.
