Condos in Aspen Grove are older, but very functional. Gas fireplace is nice. Amenities are basic (e.g. coffee packs but no tea bags, no hair dryer unless you ask). Internet was a little erratic, but always came back, and wireless where we were (some areas don't get the wireless--resort supplies Ethernet cable). Kitchen well-equipped with pots and baking dishes, OK on gadgets.

Positives: On-demand shuttle service to village. Roomy for studio apt.

Negatives: Crummy mattress. Maid threw out my insulated food bag. No on-site hot tub.

North star needs to differentiate between the different quality facilities they have available. I probably will not come back because even if reservations say it is better, I wouldn't be sure.

Positives: If I were skiing, the kitchenette/studio would be ok.

Negatives: The Murphy bed was unexpected and not appreciated. No daily room cleaning. Old.

Almost all businesses closed too early. No air conditioning. Our sons would like to come back during the ski season.

Positives: The queen beds were better than what most hotels provide. Very comfortable.

Negatives: Hiking trail for hikers only under construction.

The hotel has great location and surroundings. It's excellent for skiing or other recreational activities. Their condos are superb for larger groups.

Very poor location to where we wanted to be. We wanted to be near Tahoe City. We were checked in and verified that the room was paid for all nights of stay. Then after going out one day, we went 40 miles to meet some relatives and when we returned. we found all of our personal items removed from bathroom, clothing removed, toiletries removed and all food removed: drinks, tomato juice, breakfast food we brought, milk, and a bottle of vodka we planned on having a drink. This is what we returned to that night! Of course, no one is on site or in office and I called and got a woman who said she'd try to contact someone but she was taking the call from another state! We made the best of it but crawled into the bed and got up early the next morning and waited for office to open and the clerk did not know what happened and then said the things must be in housekeeping and we had to go to a Trailer at another location to get our things! All bagged up in a garbage bag! Do not recommend this loser place to anyone and by the way, nearly every building was under construction repairs and the roads around the place were also torn up!

Positives: Quiet.

Negatives: Dirty carpet. When problems, only contact was a person in another state.

Positives: Beautiful location.

Negatives: Was not there when we checked in and there was nobody could help us get checked in.

Nice location, nice facilities with access to gym, heated pool and spas. Romantic and calm area. Comfortable bed. Roads and trails well maintained. Nice mountain top restaurants. Shuttle service to slopes could be more efficient in the morning. No ski or boot rack. Cleanliness could be better. Very limited storage space. Technologically challenged when it comes to wireless internet! Restaurants in the village, which is under development, are substandard, even their hailed Timbercreeck restaurant.

Positives: Serene, nice trails, nice units or condos.

Negatives: Noisy, dusty, phone in room uses call back, hard to make some phone calls.

North Star at Tahoe exceeded our expectations. We stayed in a 1 bed room condo with a gas log fire place. There was no reason to leave the resort. The skiing is great with shuttles from condo to slopes every 20 minutes.

Positives: Great location at the ski resort.

Negatives: 1 bed room condo could have been cleaned better.

This is a resort. One rents privately owned condos in small buildings. The setting is gorgeous but not especially convenient to neighboring communities.

Positives: The resort is in a beautiful wooded setting.

Negatives: The only bed was a Murphy bed with a thin mattress and awful pillows.

Hotel is in a great setting. Suites provided a nice kitchenette with full cookware. Construction was going on but wasn't too bad. No place to buy groceries except for town 6 to 8 miles away.

Positives: Great surroundings.

Negatives: Construction going on during our stay.

Nice quiet condominium facility in beautiful mountain setting.

Positives: Beautiful setting, great recreational facility.

Negatives: Late check-in was tricky due to poor lighting & signage along with road construction, however security personnel was very helpful.

Northstar at Tahoe is a group of dilapidated units far from the shores of Lake Tahoe and without views of the lake. The carpets were dingy, the bathroom was dirty and there was no maid service. There was zero possibility on any scale that the unit was worth 2.5 stars.

Positives: The unit had a kitchen.

Negatives: It was not in the location I selected.

i really like how it's so close to the northstart resort. the rate was great for a private condo. if i'd known there's a kitchen, i would've planned to cook more. next time....

Positives: it's pretty quiet since it's private.... better than a suite.

Negatives: poor bathroom ventilation; found 1 spider
