Staff, unfriendly, not helpful, liked adding extra charges for hotel fees and parking. Everything was dirty. The room, the pool, landscaping was poor, can hear every one in the rooms next to you. A/C was horrible. I will never stay at Chaminade ever again. Embassy Suites is a way better hotel for its price.

Positives: Location. Easy to get on and off freeway.

Negatives: Dirty. Claims to be a 4 star resort I would give it 1 star.

Did not meet my expectations of a 4 star hotel. Upon arrival, our receptionist was a little cold and answered other calls while assisting us. There was a wet bath towel in the bath tub and our toilet paper roll was not stocked (showed they didn't do a good job cleaning it). We were on the 1st floor with a patio that was not enclosed and sliding glass doors opened to the woods, which was a little scary.

Positives: Conveniently located, close drive to many things.

Negatives: Was not clean.

Friendly staff amazing location, Has a really nice gym with free weights, the beds are very comfortable but the rooms are not quite for stars. Not far 5-10 from boardwalk.

Positives: Beautiful location, relaxing.

Negatives: They charge an additional $20 resort fee above the priceline price.

This is a nice hotel. It would be good for a retreat. The surrounding woods are stunning. The hotel is not, however, the stunning spa. It is much more run down, fabrics and fixtures are worn. The separate buildings give a motel feel to the actual rooms. The halls smelled of cleaning chemicals. The first day we checked in, someone had left their half-eaten tray from breakfast room service in the hall. It was not yet picked up when we returned to our room at 9 that night. In all, it's a nice hotel. It isn't the resort experience it is billed to be. I would not likely stay there again.

Positives: The location is beautiful.

Negatives: The hotel is much more run down than it appears in site photos.

This hotel would be a great place to stay if it cost about half the price.

Positives: I like the hiking trail at the hotel.

Negatives: I did not like how plain the room and bathrooms were for the price and star range.

Easy access to and from main road for this large-group conference center with nice amenities, including spa availability, tennis courts, comfortably appointed rooms with comfortable bed.

Positives: Beautiful setting.

Negatives: Unexpected charge for what I thought was included internet access.

The Hotel has been established since the late 60's and is situated in an area of both serenity, tranquility and affluence. It caters to both business, family and leisure. Its rooms are very accommodating and comfortable. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have slept in. The hotel was recently renovated so everything both inside and out is sparkling and very well kept up. All of the staff was very courteous and had great customer service skills. I will be returning again in the future and will also recommend this Hotel to my friends and family.

Positives: Very accomadating with all the amenidies including spa, first star dining and views

Negatives: The hotel tried to charge me for some sort of fees that I was never advised about to the tune of $38.00

Needs to be upgraded.

Positives: Location - beautiful setting.

Negatives: Rooms amenities and attractiveness not great.

This hotel had nothing above a 2.5 star hotel. Pool area was shabby and small, only 1 restaurant which was more of a bar was open (they said they open their facilities based on the number of guests), wallpaper was peeling in the hallways where ants were visible. TV programming was very basic. Definitely not a 4 star and did not get what I paid for. Dogs are apparently allowed as the common grass area near a volleyball court.

Positives: Comfortable beds.

Negatives: Bathroom was small, very poor lighting, shower not updated at all, very poor resort amenities, coffee maker did not work.

We stayed in the mid-week. It was very quiet, calm and the panoramic views from the main terraces were spectacular. The room was large and very comfortable. The grounds were beautifully landscaped. It was a great getaway. I enjoyed the serenity.

Positives: The location was wonderful, quiet, calm, with panoramic views of Santa Cruz and ocean.

Negatives: After our credit card being charged, hotel applied additional $16.00 per night. Unlocked hallway doors.

Chaminade is a great place for a conference but not what I'd call a luxury resort. Our room was just okay - small with minimum amenities. The walls were thin and noise from neighbors was distracting. The view from the room and from the patio was of the parking lot so we didn't sit outside and kept our shades drawn. It would have been nice to have wine glasses in the room. The area was heavily wooded and beautiful. Quiet and serene (except for the noise at night from our neighbors).

Positives: Lounge was comfortable and had great view.

Negatives: Room was small with view of parking lot.

Older facility but nicely renovated. Large room with dining area but no refrigerator. Very comfortable bed with nice linens. On a busier stay noise could be an annoyance as the walls seemed thin. Hot tub was clean and hot! Situated just inside the forest
- we saw deer grazing by the pool.

Positives: Very comfortable bed, nice linens, nice hot tub.

Negatives: Walls were thin, no elevator.

The hotel staff, view, grounds and and room decorations were excellent. We changed rooms because my husband wanted a forest facing room. They gave us a handicap room which had mold and mildew on the bathroom floor tiles and walls. Totally unacceptable.

Positives: Staff very friendly and accomodating.. The setting and grounds, excellent.

Negatives: Mildew on the bathroom tiles and walls. The feather bed had quills sticking out into the sheets making it very uncomfotable to sleep,

Negatives: The bathroom was a little small.

Loved that it was a very secluded resort. Scenery was remarkable. Great place to stay with kids. Enjoyed sitting on the back porch with the family. Comparable to a home away from home. Very relaxing and would absolutely go back again.

Positives: Spacious, great scenery, quiet, and secluded.

Negatives: The hotel staff were rather pretentious.

This hotel has a lot to offer its guests. The fitness facility and spa are very accommodating to guests. the heated salt water swimming pool is great.

Positives: The location is secluded but easily accessed, very well run, friendly and helpful staff.

Negatives: There was some renovation being done at 8:00am which was ab noxious.

I am upset that I was not told upfront that there was a resort fee of 16.00 per night. I asked if I was all paid up and the registration assistant said yes, I was all paid up no more fees. Then I get a charge on my credit card of 40.30. I would have been fine if someone told me upfront.

Positives: the staff was excellent. It was quiet.

Negatives: The rooms had spider webs. we had to ask to have the room cleaned every day.

Excellent and classy decor and clean! though you have to pay for a hotel service fee, the pool and exercise facilities are more than
I expected.
My wife also had an excellent facial experience except for the receptionist who wasn't as friendly, otherwise, overall the total experience was 5 star!

Positives: Surpisingly luxurious and felt like you were staying in a private villa.

Negatives: Should have a fridge a

Very nice accomadations - the workout area was one of the best. Quiet room and friendly staff.

Positives: Quiet, off the beaten path resort with a nice spa.

Negatives: Can't think of anything that I didn't like.

The hotel is a spa and resort and has all the items that you expect with that. There are hiking trails, good restaurants, a bar with a great view overlooking Santa Cruz, tennis courts, beautiful decoration, etc.

Positives: It looks over the city of Santa Cruz. Great views, spa and resort.

Negatives: Had to pay for the Internet.

Fabulous hotel especially for spa people. Kid friendly but not in the restaurants. This place has a fabulous view and is located close to Santacruz and capitola. Water pool and tennis courts. Would definitely stay again.

Positives: Beautiful surroundings, serene and relaxing.

Negatives: Breakfast buffet was a waste of money and the service was poor.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay here. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The setting was beautiful.

Positives: The area it was located in was very beautiful.

Negatives: The mattresses were worn out and need replacing.

We had a fabulous romantic getaway. The staff is so friendly we ate breakfast at the restaurant on site is was wonderful. Every night we had cocktails, fabulous staff in bar/lounge. Even in the rain it was so beautiful. The con was the hall was very noisy, you could hear everything going on. Also, the charge for everything, for instance to park there. The resort is up in the hills, where else are you to park ($16.00 a day)!

Positives: Super friendly staff.

Negatives: Charged for parking, charged for everything, noisy.
