I liked the location and decor. Right on the water. However, when I called to request 2 double beds instead of a king, they said it would be $25 per night. Plus when I looked at my bill, they had charged me to park 2 cars there when I only parked one. I had asked at the front desk for 2 parking passes, but they said I could only have one and then I ended up getting charged for the 2!

Positives: Decor and friendly staff.

Negatives: Upgrade fees, and overcharged my room.

Very Disappointed from the minute we set foot. Upon check-in told no way to get a room with two beds. No roll aways, small room the size of a walk-in closet.

Positives: Nothing... Other than it was on the beach.

Negatives: Terrible Customer Service, room the size of a closet... No option for two beds. Four people had to sleep in one bed...

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location, right across the street from the ocean.

Positives: Great location. Beautiful rooms, but in older condition. Cuse updating for safety.

Negatives: Someone had kicked the door of my room open previously, and it was never properly fixed. The door did not close in a secure way.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful. The rooms were nicely decorated and clean. The area where the hotel is located is also convenient; it's close to the main highway and the heart of the city. The only reservation we had with this hotel was the noise level. Our room was adjacent to an alley with loud traffic noise in the mornings, and right next to housekeepings' central cleaning location. Although we really liked the concept for the rugs in the rooms, we did not enjoy being woken up by constant vacuuming of the individual carpet squares immediately downstairs from our room.

Positives: It was in a central location, and the front desk staff was very helpful and friendly.

Negatives: Our hotel room was adjacent to an alley with loud traffic noise, and right next to housekeepings' central cleaning area which made it very noisy.

Hotel lobby is nice and bedroom area of the room is nice as well but the morning we were leaving there were roaches in the shower tub. Also the walls are thin you can hear the showers from the other near-by rooms and also toilets flushing. The European continental breakfast was good and free every morning. Also the free wi-fi was great

Positives: Good free breakfast, free wi-fi, and across the street from the beach.

Negatives: Round-down bathrooms and roaches in the tub.

Parking was horrible. Paid $10.00 for parking and when I came home after 9, I wound up parking on the street. The rooms were not very insulated and I could hear every word and move from my neighbors. Room did not overlook ocean as advertised, but a pool.

Positives: The view, though not from my room was awesome.

Negatives: Construction of rooms was shabby. You could hear everything from the other hotel rooms.

No

Positives: Beautiful landscaping & outdoor seating, good location, nice breakfast was included.

Negatives: Confusing where to park.

Hotel was clean, across the street from the ocean and the grounds were lovely. Great to have free access to bikes for a ride along the beach. We all really enjoyed our stay.

Positives: Loved the ocean view from our room.

Negatives: Not much space for incidentals in/by the bathroom.

Cute boutique hotel conveniently located by the Santa Barbara pier, with beautiful ocean views. It is an old hotel that has clean and spacious rooms with tasteful decor. We enjoyed using the hotel bikes to tour the coastline. The continental breakfast was surprisingly nice ~ good quality and presentation. The perfect spot for a quick weekend get-away.

Positives: Loved using the complimentary bikes!

Negatives: Despite requesting two Queen beds with hotel management, they did not have record of this when we arrived.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel despite a garbage truck picking up garbage containers at 7:20 am (perhaps at Sambos). If the hotel staff had warned us of the potential early wake up, we would have been happier. Our room was on the 2nd floor, set back from the busy road between the hotel and the beach. It had a partial view of the ocean and marina, which was nice. The bathroom was large and clean and featured Aveda toiletries. Enjoyed the pool, which was a comfortable temperature and clean. There were lots of comfortable lounge chairs around the pool. The continental breakfast was OK, but could be better. The availability of bicycles free for two hours was a great feature. The hotel charges $10 for overnight parking.

Positives: The grounds and public areas are very attractive.

Negatives: Our room was lacking a place to put open suitcases and any place to sit other than on the two queen beds.

No way should this be a three-star. The waterfront location notwithstanding, it is like a basic, old, unrenovated one-star motel with almost no amenities. The room was horribly hot, and there was no air-conditioning (!). There was no desk to work at. The Wifi signal was so weak that it was almost like having no internet access. I changed room locations to supposedly be closer to the transmitter, but that didn't help. Their tech support # didn't help, either.

Positives: Location on the water.

Negatives: No air-conditioning. Lousy Internet connection. No desk to work at.

From the moment we walked to the lobby and were greeted so warmly and answered all of our questions, and the way they met our wants and needs. It was GREAT ! Oh, and the bikes! The bikes were so much fun and easy to ride and comfortable.

Positives: Right across from the beach and the sunset!

Negatives: Nothing!

Great location. Price was worth the location. Need two beds and they charged an additional $25. I did not like that!

Positives: Great location.

Negatives: Rooms were old and needed updating in bathroom.

The staff was very attentive to our wants and needs. When we first got there we requested two beds, but when we went to the room there was only one. The waived the upgrade fee and put us in a different room. The next morning I woke with little bits all over that itched like crazy. They sent housekeeping in and they didn't find any bed bugs, but moved us to a new room anyway. When we went to check out they told us there was a $10 a day parking charge. When we told them we weren't notified about the charge they again waived it.

Positives: The overall ambience of the hotel was delightful.

Negatives: I believe the bed had bedbugs.

The hotel was very nice but was old.

Positives: The room they gave us was large with a fire place.

Negatives: We like to get our own ice, but they would bring the ice to us.

Loved our experience at Hotel Oceana. It was such a treat to stay at this fine hotel!! The tile, flowers and the landscaping all around hotel was so beautiful and well maintained. It was so quaint, but yet had bright and lively colors. It was our 4th anniversary and the staff was extra nice. We were located right by the Jacuzzi and the pool! Very clean and very comfy! Really enjoyed having bikes furnished by the hotel to ride!

Positives: It was so Santa Barbara!! Great access to the beach and very clean!

Negatives: Breakfast was pretty generic but okay.

No Air conditioning! Didn't think that was possible when you bid on a 3 star. King bed room tiny. Double bed room smelled musty. Upstairs noise was worst I have ever heard. Pros: Nice, friendly staff. Free bikes for guest use.

Positives: Location

Negatives: Horrible rooms, smelly, loud, old.

The hotel has an excellent location and a Mediterranean ocean feel to it. The rooms vary enormously. I would suggest you ask to see the room assigned and feel free to ask about other available rooms as the variance could be large. The first room I was assigned was very small and dark, later the fridge leaked and I was given another room which as much lighter and larger. The hot tub and pool were both well-maintained.

Positives: Location is excellent on beach.

Negatives: Room first assigned was very small and dark.

The hotel was great and the breakfast was more than I expected. My overall experience at this hotel was wonderful and I would recommend it to others.

Positives: I really enjoyed the location of this hotel and the fact that it provided bicycles.

Negatives: The walls were a little too thin and I could hear more than I wanted. Also the pool wasn't that warm.

The location is fabulous. The grounds are well maintained and they happen to have the best general manager of any hotel we have ever stayed.

Positives: The general manager was quick to resolve our problem and even compt us with an additional night stay.

Negatives: Bathroom was small, noisy ceiling fan, and dripping shower heads. They could also offer less sweets in their breakfast and offer simple eggs instead.

I was concerned about my stay because of the mixed reviews. We stayed in Room with a partial ocean view. Our room was clean and very comfortable. Yes we heard people walking up to their room but it was not a big deal as we had a quiet location.

Positives: The location and European breakfast were great.

Negatives: How spread out everything was.

We were very disappointed with the quality of the hotel. It was clean, but that was about it. We had a room with a King bed that was right in front of the large window with a very large amount of high people traffic walking by. You were not really even able to change in the room hardly because the curtains did not even close all the way. We needed to put something up against the curtains to keep them closed all the way. My wife was very uncomfortable about that. The bathroom was not very good. Toilet was right behind door and if you were using it you better hope that no one opened that door or you would have very sore knees. Even though there had been a recent update the room looked like it was out of 1960. It was more motel like in the 60's than updated. We still enjoyed our time in Santa Barbara and the hot tub and pool were good. Cont breakfast ok. $2.00 for a coffee in your room though.

Positives: Breakfast continental included.

Negatives: Bed right in front of window in high traffic area.

As a woman traveling alone,
I did not feel safe or pampered - the heater didn't even work.
I was so disappointed, and the service was lackluster.

Positives: Beautiful location, but there were homeless people sleeping on the lawn.

Negatives: I
