Absolute worst hotel I have ever booked. Dirty, loud, hot water was on an off. Parking is outrages $30 per day! Whatever you do, do not stay in this hotel. A Motel 6 is luxurious when compared to the Renoir, plus you'll save the parking fee.

Positives: Absolutely nothing!

Negatives: Loud, dirty, outrages parking fees and other fees.

It was old, dirty and it was in a neighborhood full of homeless and drug addicts people. One of the only 2 elevators were not working and I was told by the personnel that it's been broken for over 2 months! The other elevator that was working was about to break, it made weird noises and took 15 minutes to arrive at our floor. The lobby area had 4 couches which were all dirty and old, I actually found garbage underneath the cushion. There were pieces of garbage all around the floor which was covered by a dirty carpet and we even saw cockroaches on the front office desk. The rooms were as simple as it gets, the TV was not working and there was a shortage of hot water in the shower. We didn't even have the courage to see what was under our sheets, but it's safe to say that it's old and dusty. The sheets and blankets were dirty and stained, probably from 10 years ago, as were the stairwell that makes cracking noises and you feel like you're going to fall. Overall this was the worst hotel experience I ever had in my life and with some many decent hotels in San Francisco, there's absolutely no point in staying in that ugly, old piece of garbage shelter. It's not only bad, it's also dangerous! Any hostel was much better than that. Do yourself and your family a big favor and stay away from this.

Positives: Nothing, it's the worst hotel I've ever stayed at.

Negatives: Everything.

This hotel is dingy and the neighborhood is a combination of homelessness and massive smut shops. My girlfriend was afraid to walk outside.

Positives: Only one guy told us the truth and helped us find things to do.

Negatives: Dirty.

Old, nice lobby. Great staff. Rooms were nothing out of the ordinary. Not a very good part of town - coming home late at night was worrisome.

Positives: Great service, close to Union Square and Mission.

Negatives: Seedy area, lots of homeless and drug addicts right outside the door.

First, it is in an unsafe part of town (Tenderloin) with homeless people roaming the streets below. Second, the walls are so thin even with the windows closed the street noise and noisy neighbors were unbearable. The hotel provides earplugs in the nightstand.

Positives: Historical building close to Union Square and transportation.

Negatives: Very loud.

This hotel is terrible. This is dirty, noisy and terrible hotel. Room is not vacuumed well, think there were some bugs that bitted me. There people were drinking and yelling in other rooms, but no actions taken by the staff. Just terrible.

Positives: Nothing.

Negatives: Worst stay in my 35 years of life.

One thin piece of glass is what is used to separate the loud world and your room. The towels in the room about the size of a bathmat, I would recommend bringing your own towel. The front desk staff seemed to be overworked and very busy and did not provide eye contact.

Positives: The location was great.

Negatives: There was no A/C in the rooms and no iron!

Good for travelers that are out of their room most of the time. Can get a little noisy due to homeless at the mission across the street; but they never approached us. Can easily walk to restaurants, stores, etc. No coffee machine in room. Would not suggest a single woman or family stay at this hotel unless they plan to be gone most of the day and use it as a place to sleep only; lacks amenities.

Positives: Central location, clean room, valet service, and the hotel staff and guests were nice and friendly.

Negatives: Located across a mission for the homeless and triplex bar= scary at night.

We knew we weren't getting the best location, but the hotel appeared to be fairly clean and safe online. Within minutes of arriving, we'd been solicited for drugs right outside the hotel lobby, witnessed a fight, and our car got broken into. None of which the hotel did to us, but this just to prove the area it's in is unsafe. The hotel itself is old, does not offer a restaurant like it advertises, and needs to be renovated. The rooms are pretty small, not very many amenities are offered (not even coffee--you have to pay for it at a machine in the lobby), and though we were on the 3rd floor we heard constant noise from the street. Our room was clean, and the staff is always visible, but the area is high crime and the loitering and class of business around the hotel itself is threatening.

Positives: Staff was always visible.

Negatives: Very poor location, unsafe, old, and rundown.
