The hotel was nice and had a great feel to it. Nice warm decor and aged well. Great staff. Very comfortable over all.
Positives: It had a classic feel. Warm decor. Small and comfortable. The staff was nice. I also liked the stair well.
Negatives: Wasn't too fond of the area. Had to park in a parking structure 2 blocks away.

Good hotel in terms of price-quality.

Positives: Hotel was OK clean and they gave as a quiet room.
Negatives: Wanted to charge a deposit of $50 but finally didn't.

The room in general fit our needs, but there could have been more breakfast choices. And I agree with one of those who reviewed the hotel. It's a good idea to get up early if you want something in particular from the breakfast menu. Our first TV (which was later exchanged) had a colour problem. The second TV had a noise interference issue. The water in the shower could have been warmer.
Positives: The beds were comfortable and the maid service was excellent.
Negatives: Continental breakfast didn't have many choices; TVs need upgrading.

Close drive to a lot of places, didn't feel comfortable walking around the outside of the hotel at night since it was in the tenderloin district. Front desk staff is not willing to check you in early at all. Rooms are very small and cramped, but they are clean. Free breakfast consist of bagel/bread, coffee and juice. Lady working the breakfast area is very sweet and nice.

I really liked the hotel and the staff. The only issues I had were the size of the room and how a little out of date it was and well the parking fee. Although I did get a discount because of A!
Positives: It was right in the center of everything! If we couldn't walk we would take a short trip on the Muni! It was awesome!
Negatives: The room was really small.

For the price I paid through Priceline, it was worth the stay. Amenities were there,<BR/>continental breakfast served was substantial, attentiveness of staff and cleanliness good. Security at front door very assuring. Centrally located to all tourist attraction and easy freeway access to going south of the city.
Positives: Location was close to restaurants, and public transportation. The security at the front door was great as you need your room key to open lobby door.
Negatives: Room with the queen bed was small though very clean.

This hotel was not patron friendly. When complaining about a room where the smell coming out of, the management asked me to give a room number. I think they should have responded immediately. Also the carpet in our room was filthy. Parking was too expensive.
Positives: The location to Japan town and the Cathedral was excellent.
Negatives: Carpet was filthy and other patrons were smoking weed.

Solid hotel with character, good value, good central location.
Positives: Hotel has a lot of character as it is an older property (but properly maintained).
Negatives: The continental breakfast was weak, only plain bagels and bread, plus cereal. There is no waffle maker, pastries, etc.
