Conveniently located 2 blocks above Union Square. Clean, basic accommodations with minimal lobby service. Front desk in the process of renovations. Wireless internet service provided by Matrix Networks was terrible!! - would not stay connected for more than 5-10 minutes @ time.
Positives: Convenient to Union Square area location.
Negatives: Lousy wireless internet service.

This hotel is clean, friendly, and affordable.
Positives: The location was great, and staff was very friendly!
Negatives: The room was a bit noisy as we were wakened by lobby music and garbage truck.

Nicely refurbished old hotel, comfy lobby with free wine tasting, comfy beds, nice rooms with windows that open; spacious bath, good exercise room, very clean and friendly helpful staff. Perfect location-walk to everywhere and quiet.
Positives: Location, appearance, cleanliness, comfy beds, windows that open, spacious bath, wine tasting and exercise room.
Negatives: Refrigerator was too warm, bath a bit shabby and some areas smelled like urine.

This place is fine if you're a business traveler hoping for a place near downtown. However, the big minus is no free internet in room or in lobby. Everything requires an extra fee. Also, hotel is a little old and room had a weird smell. However, overall tolerable. Stayed there for 4 nights and was fine, but think it's more of a 2 or 2.5 star hotel than 3 star.
Positives: Great location.
Negatives: No free internet in room or in lobby.

Very friendly and helpful staff but somewhat dependent on which person it was. Rooms are nice size, but bathroom was very small. Wine tasting in evening was nice - a snack would be a nice touch - cheese/crackers or something. Restaurant was closed for 2 weeks - same as every year. No workout facility or pool. No in room microwave or coffee.
Positives: Staff friendliness.
Negatives: Small bathrooms/location (noise).

We liked the television, bed, and reception, however, the bathroom was tiny and the room was small. A personnel was excellent and helpful. He helped us find pizza on a day where most restaurants were closed.
Positives: The atmosphere and location.
Negatives: Small room and bathroom.

The staff is rude beyond belief. We stayed here for a week, and after repeated requests, they did not give us a room with two beds.
Positives: Nothing.
Negatives: Unfriendly staff, did not give us a room with two beds over a week-long stay!

Good price and location. Moderate, but clean. Friendly staff. Coffee in the morning, and wine reception in the evening.
Positives: Location and price.
Negatives: Not enough on demand movies.

Overall nice hotel. The rooms are perfect for a leisure in and out one night stay in San Francisco. I would not recommend the hotel for business travel as there was no iron and I didn't see a business center for online and printing.
Positives: Clean, availability, free wine was nice.
Negatives: No iron, suitcase stand in room, and restrooms smelled bad.

This hotel is perfectly placed for seeing the city. Every evening the hotel had a wine tasting which was very pleasant. The staff was incredibly helpful. The shower was very small and there was a slight mildew smell that eventually disappeared with the windows open.
Positives: Location was great and it was quiet. The wine service was good.
Negatives: The breakfast was less below average.

Check-in/front desk staff were very helpful and super nice. Unfortunately our room and the room of our friends who also stayed here had lots of hair from various last guests, especially on the bed which had sheets that were obviously not washed prior to our use of the room (hair, make-up traces, toenail clippings etc. were glaring giveaways). I can handle the dust, odd odor, tiny rooms and even the slightly mildew showers and bathrooms- but please- just wash the bedding after one set of guests leave! We could hear all the sounds of the street even from our interior room plus many sounds from other guests rooms. Parking was an additional $30 a day at the nearby garage which is normal for the area, continental breakfast had good coffee if nothing else.
Positives: The staff was pleasant, other than that nothing.
Negatives: Noisy, run-down, very dirty, past guests hair was everywhere, expensive parking.

I did not appreciate the fact the hotel required us to pay an extra amount. The bed in the room was not even a queen size bed, so I am not sure how they thought two adults were going to sleep comfortably in a tiny little bed. I was angry that I had to pay an additional $.
Positives: The wine hour, but they never actually served it!
Negatives: It was small and overpriced, old and was poorly redone.

This hotel was great for a more interesting experience of San Francisco. The bathroom in my room did not have a sink, but there was a sink in a shuttered closet in the bedroom. The lobby area was lovely.
Positives: Quirky - more interesting than a standard hotel chain.
Negatives: Some of the staff was friendly, some were not.

This hotel was horrible. I was hugely disappointed.
Positives: Complimentary wine reception, the only good thing.
Negatives: The bathroom was disgusting, which made me question all the cleanliness.

The hotel was on a steep hill. Which I found inconvenient. As I said earlier it only had one elevator which was also inconvenient. The air conditioner, even at full blast barely kept the room cool.
Positives: There was a refrigerator in the room.
Negatives: The hotel only had one elevator.

We almost didn't stay at the hotel because the rooms were so loud, even on the 7th floor. The hotel looks nice at first glance, but upon closer inspection you'll see that it's a bit run down. Bath fixtures are cheap. Paint was peeling all around the cabinets. The room furnishings were very attractive, however.
Positives: Friendly staff. Fresh baked continental breakfast. Attractive lobby.
Negatives: Biggest complaint is that it is way too loud. It sits on a really busy street.

Located near Nob Hill, this hotel has a convenient location only blocks from BART and Union Square. Cozy little breakfast/lobby area to get your day started right as well as a wine tasting each night.
Positives: Great location and cute boutique hotel!
Negatives: Room was on 2nd floor above the garbage for the restaurant.
