This room was good for a one night stay, but they need to assign this room as a last resort because of the trash pickup noise.

Positives: Bed and location.

Negatives: Next to trash dumpster and could not sleep from the truck noise.

This hotel was great! Close to everything, very friendly staff, restaurants were perfect, room was clean and spacious -- I loved it!

Positives: Very clean, very friendly - great hotel!

Negatives: On top of a hill, but the cable car drove right by so it was okay.

Great location, nice staff. The room we were assigned originally was so small, it was ridiculous and it overlooked the hard wear on the roof (we asked for another room). The second room was slightly better, but still small with weird room configuration, not convenient at all, this one overlooked the skylights of the courtyard. I got the impression we were put in the smallest worst room. The hotel staff was very professional and the concierge was great. I was just hoping for a better experience from this hotel.

Positives: Great location and

Negatives: Small cramped room with poor placement of bed, TV. Seemed somewhat dowdy for the rating of 4 star.

The room was clean and somewhat comfortable. The valet is $45. Overall, I love the city and Nob Hill is the best location since its so close to Chinatown for some nice Chinese food.

Positives: The location was awesome. Nob hill is the best place to be in San Francisco.

Negatives: The rooms are too small but then every hotel room in San Francisco is.

Friendly and helpful staff, very nicely appointed rooms and public areas, great location -- everything one would look for in a SF hotel! Located at the intersection of the city's cable car lines we saved on the cost of a rental car and parking fees by just stepping out the front door and jumping aboard!

Positives: Great location in a safe, clean, and convenient neighborhood right at the intersection of the two cable car lines.

Negatives: So minor - we had to ask for the bath robes - but they brought them immediately!

Excellent location and easy to get to all places in San Francisco. Great breakfast, especially the lemon pancakes. Rooms are good size and clean. Little strange to have clothes closet in bathroom. Overall excellent stay and would recommend highly.

Positives: Great location.

Negatives: Parking is expensive, but typical for San Francisco.

The Stanford Court remains the charming hotel I recall from decades ago, even after renovations. The staff is superb.

Positives: Staff graciously changed our room when I discovered we did not have a king bed.

Negatives: There was no swimming pool.

A great location and a beautiful facility made the Stanford court the perfect hotel for our vacation. We found it so easy to get around the city from the Stanford Court and would recommend it to friends.

Positives: Location, style, convenience and amenities.

Negatives: They charged $15/day for internet access.

I liked the hotel overall and the rooms were comfortable and nice. However, it is an ld building that new Air conditioning units and new plumbing. I felt it was a bit over priced considering it did not include breakfast, did not have a fridge and there were no robes or added touches like that. I was impressed with the gym though, and the location is great.

Positives: Great location and lovely room.

Negatives: The fixtures were old, so shower was poor and air con was loud. There was no fridge in room either.

The hotel was OK for the price. Not really bad for a 1 night stay alone. I would not bring a spouse for a romantic weekend. Everything seemed a little worn with another coat of paint on top and then cuffed with shoe marks.

Positives: The price was great and location was interesting, and there was an excellent view from room.

Negatives: Hallways and doors were scuffed, looked dated with a coat of paint.

This is a lovely hotel both in the room and the public areas. Away from the hustle-bustle of Union square which is good for the quiet, but wear your walking shoes if you are on foot, as it is nearly at the top of Nob hill, up very steep sidewalks. My only criticisms are that there are no towel ring/racks in the sink area of the bathroom, and there is no in-house convenience store. It was not possible to buy a newspaper, and there were no newspapers available at the concierge - they had run out. The newspaper boxes on the sidewalks require 4 quarters which I did not have, so I went to Illy's coffee across the street and bought a coffee I didn't need, in order to buy the newspaper. Aside from those small items, it is 4 star and very nice.

Positives: The bed and bedding was very nice. Room was good size, though bathroom was small.

Negatives: No towel ring/rack in the bathroom and was inconvenient. No convenience shop. No newspaper available.

Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, extremely clean. Would stay there again.

Positives: Concierge service was outstanding.

Negatives: No parking.
