I loved staying at this hotel. The people working at the front desk were very friendly and tried to give us the best possible room. The hotel is very clean and modern.

Positives: Great customer service.

Negatives: The rooms are a bit small, but this is fine.

We love the hotel Nikko. Our room was on the 18th floor with a great City view. We walked to Fish and Farm as well as Urban Tavern. A great time in a fabulous spot.

Positives: The lobby was clean and streamlined, room was lovely. We would return.

Negatives: The carpet in the hallways smells funny.

Other than parking fee, this hotel met many of my expectations. It is centralized so that it is short distance walk to many city attractions.

Positives: Excellent customer service.

Negatives: Parking

We felt the location was safe, walking distance to China Town and Cable cars. The rooms were very small furnished with dated furniture and warn out carpet. From reading a review that taked about what wonderful bathtubs they had with bath minerals, I was looking forward to that but it wasn't true! In fact, the bathtub was a regular old tub with a tinge of stain and no bath salts.

Positives: The view of the city was nice and so was the location if you want to be in the city and not the Fisherman's Wharf area.

Negatives: Extra charge for parking, gym, Wi-Fi, cable movies, most 4 star hotels give complimentary.

The TV was fuzzy so none of the channels came in clearly. The bathroom had very little amenities. Internet should be free for this level of hotel. Water should also be free. No mini-bar either.

Positives: The location is great.

Negatives: The layout was strange both in the room and entrance when dropped from a cab. Room did not have 4 star amenities.

Hotel Nikko is perfect for couples or business travelers. The location is about perfect for San Francisco. Lots of restaurants & shopping within walking distance. Easy public transport to many local sights and tours. The only downside is the cost of public parking. While less expensive than the $50+ for valet at the hotel, the public lots charge $29/day! It's like adding that amount to your discounted hotel room rate. King room on the 15th floor had a fabulous view. Room & bath were clean and daily maid service was timely & comprehensive. Work out facility & pool were great, but why they nickel & dime guests with a $10 used fee is a bit odd. Not a major issue, but not fond of the concept of a temporary charge of $100/day that is credited back upon check-out.

Positives: Optimum location, cleanliness, design & comfort.

Negatives: Expensive public parking nearby.

Went for my daughter's 17th b'day, enjoyed our stay thoroughly!

Positives: Very classy and clean.

Negatives: Didn't use the spa, pool as it was an extra fee.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel as a whole was very attractive. The room was extremely small, had I of been paying full price I would not have been happy. The parking garage was $50 a day, seems quite overpriced.

Positives: The location was great.

Negatives: The room was very small, parking prices.

Nice hotel overall. Felt that I still spent to much for a night after the upgrade to have a king size bed and all fees.

Positives: Classy.

Negatives: Room was very small, had to upgrade for king size bed.

Superior ambiance, tranquility, and serenity abounds at this beautifully contracted, very well maintained hotel. It is like an oasis amidst the hustle bustle of big city life. Everything was pleasing to the eye, nothing old or outdated in appearance. Very highly maintained property.

Positives: The cutting edge decor, the sanctuary-like environment. Peace and tranquility abounds.

Negatives: There was nothing I did not like about this hotel.

I think in general this is a genuine 4-star hotel. But they have some very small rooms with very thin walls. So while the overall quality of the hotel seemed high, what they made available to me was not comparable to the overall quality of the hotel.

Positives: It was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Negatives: The walls were very thin. The room was very small and some of the fixtures were exposed/deteriorated.

I felt the hotel nickel and dimmed us for everything. You had to pay $10 to use the pool, $20 for a king bed, $30 for 2 queens...I have never stayed in a four star hotel that has done that...usually a king is standard. My husband is 6'5 so a king is a must for us, and the couple we were traveling with brought their 10 year, so they had to upgrade as well. Also parking is ridiculous, $51 a night, but you can park in a parking garage across the street for $29. The hotel room was clean, but the carpet was stained and looked dirty. It was also very small.

Positives: Modern decor and nice location.

Negatives: Nickel and dimmed you $10 for pool, $20 for king bed.

Hotel Nikko was just OK.

Positives: No problem with early check-in.

Negatives: Dirty carpet and strange brown stains on the wall.

This hotel had a perfect location to the public transit system, both BART and MUNI were within a couple of blocks. The staff and room were very nice and I would stay here again.

Positives: Perfect location.

Negatives: Small rooms.

Negatives: Everything.

I didn't like the bait and switch tactic. The room was basically a closet, and we had to pay more to get a normal room.

Positives: Location

Negatives: TV - needs an HDMI cable.

Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 11 Jan 2010 rated 8 out of 10.

Great rooms, comfortable beds. Very nice. Lobby was very attractive.

Positives: The overall hotel was very nice.

Negatives: The hotel clerk advised wrong info regarding parking at Fisherman's wharf we found parking not to be a problem. Slight attitude.
