I would definitely stay here again. SF parking is always tricky, there is a public parking area just across the street that is cheaper than hotel parking, but there are no in and out privileges, which one may not need since there is so much shopping, restaurants and other touristy stuff to do so close. I spent the day at the hotel for a business conference, the food was great, the conference rooms were comfortable and adequate. I would love to stay here again with my spouse on a weekend getaway!

Positives: Room was comfortable and clean, bed very comfy. Great location, and centrally located.

Negatives: Room was small, only one bed, but suited me fine as

Booked on Priceline - very clear we were lower in priority to full price reservations. Room was dated. Had requested 2 beds in reservation, received a room with a Murphy and cot! Was told was sold out and couldn't change rooms. Had booked 2 rooms; had asked at time of check in to be beside or on the same floor. Was confirmed by front desk. Upon check in - we were in two different towers! Not exactly near each other.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Zero customer service.

Great location. Classic hotel. However, this is the first time I have ever been charged an upgrade fee for asking for 2 double beds! The front desk was not accommodating. Also, when we arrived at our room, there were no towels, soap or shampoo. Additionally, there were dirty dishes in the hall, called several times before they were picked up, it took over 24 hours!

Positives: Location.

Negatives: First time ever charged additional fee for 2 double beds, staff not accommodating, dirty dishes in hall.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. But for a 4 star hotel I expect more. The furniture and the room in general looked a bit old fashioned. Then some thing like the knobs to open the water in the sink was loose, the know on the bath door was loose and at some point we couldn't open the door anymore. But then, they helped us immediately and the staff was really friendly. Also the concierge was awesome! Super friendly and knew what he was talking about.

Positives: Great stuff and concierge, super friendly! Great location.

Negatives: Family room, but super small bath. The door handle fall of and couldn't open bath any more. Room not cleaned completely, stuff lying on the floor.

I would stay here again.

Positives: The room was nice, but a bit beat up! The view was beautiful, and the door man was very helpful.

Negatives: Silly, but I had to call down to get coffee for the in room coffee maker. The maid did not replenish, and the lighting in the foyer was bad.

The Westin St. Francis hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Union Square near shopping and restaurants.

Positives: Great location across from the ice skating rink and the Christmas Tree in Union Square!

Negatives: This hotel charges a daily fee of $12 per day to use the exercise room facilities and charges for internet access.

Will not return at any cost.

Positives: Restaurant was very good.

Negatives: Exorbitant cost for parking on an already higher cost room. Room small and paint peeling off ceiling. Hotel old.

I'm so unhappy with the service of this hotel. Bug bites both nights on myself and my husband. We asked to be moved and they could not. We paid 57 dollars a night to park at this hotel, we asked the front desk before parking if there was a local garage and she said no, we got in a cab and they did a drive around the building and low and behold a 18 dollar parking garage connected to the very same building. Lots of great things about the hotel, history, location, and great dining.

Positives: Loved the lobby, and Michael Mina dining experience. Loved that it was across the street from Union Square.

Negatives: The service, the dirty bed and bug bites we received, the unwillingness to move us to a different room, parking situation, front desk lied to us.

The Westin St. Francis Hotel was a commanding historical edifice at Union Square. Stepping from the hotel to the sidewalk felt as though this was the center of the city. The older section of the hotel was interesting and well maintained for its age. The lack of space in the old but well maintained room detracted from the overall hotel experience. Would I go there again? Yes, if I could get another good deal.

Positives: The history of the hotel improved the stay.

Negatives: The size and location of the room was not satisfactory.

The hotel location is great. The room that we were assigned was very small and the halls were noisy everytime someone closed the door you could hear it. They must have had a very large convention because the lobby had to be partitioned off and one of the entrances could not be used -- somewhat inconvenient, but it was only for one morning. We had just come from San Diego Westin Gaslamp and felt that this hotel did not compare as well. The concierge was helpful in recommending a close by Italian restaurant, but all staff seemed very busy.

Positives: Nice bathroom.

Negatives: Room to small and

It is a classic hotel in the middle of the one of the greates cities on earth. Rooms are nice, but a little small.

Positives: It was much cheaper than I would have normally been able obtain.

Negatives: The room was about the size of a closet.

The hotel was a wonderful historic landmark in a perfect location. Our room was tiny with a view of a brick wall, 4 feet from our window. We paid to upgrade to a nicer room. It was worth every penny!! It made a huge difference in our overall trip.

Positives: Let me pay to upgrade to a much better room!

Negatives: The room was horrible!

The best part of the hotel is the location. Otherwise, the facility itself needs some renovation. Our room had a bad odor that didn't go away with the daily house cleaning. The beds were a little uncomfortable, but OK. My kids did use the heated pool, so that was a plus. Internet was free, but parking was $40/night.

Positives: Extremely close to Fisherman's Wharf.

Negatives: Bad odor in room.

History and location make the Westin St Francis one of the best hotels in San Francisco. The cable cars run right in front of the hotel. Shopping abounds on every corner. It is safe to walk around the area. It is like you are in the center of all the activity. A very exciting place to stay.

Positives: The history of the San Francis westin was amazing. We had a great room in the historic part of the hotel. It was the best location in all of San Francisco.

Negatives: There was a boycott of working conditions for the 650 employees at the hotel.

In the heart of San Francisco's Union Square, its a convenient and vibrant location. The common areas of the hotel are exquisite and the staff is accomodating but a little snobbish.

Positives: Location

Negatives: Room was small &amp; needs updating.

The overall service was poor from check in through trying to get a newspaper delivered to the room. For a 5 star hotel service was extremely disappointing.

Positives: The one time when service was good was when we left our bags for a few hours after we check out.

Negatives: The hotel try to give you the least attractive room. The lowest floor with the room in some dark corner.

The hotel had an older feeling to it but was very classy. The service help (bellhops, housekeeping, valet parking, front door men) were very friendly and while the front desk was a little &quot;snooty&quot;, they were still helpful when asked and quickly removed charges from our bill that were mistakenly added.

<BR/>

Positives: The staff was helpful. The bellhop had our room changed because he saw that we had two small children and needed needed a crib .

Negatives: The mini bar works on sensors so when we touched something we were charged even though we didn't eat/drink anything!

Very good.

Positives: Perfect location and very nice upscale hotel.

Negatives: None.

Great hotel for the price I got on priceline. The rooms are extremely small, and I would not pay full price for the room.

Positives: Location

Negatives: Very small rooms

While the hotel is located in an ideal location, right at Union Square with all the shopping and tourist attractions, the rooms are very old and small. Windows were small and faced the alley, so no natural light was let in and the room felt very enclosed. The bathroom was in serious need of a deep cleaning, if not a complete overhaul.

Positives: Location was right at Union Square and close to all the shopping.

Negatives: The room was small, tiny windows, extremely dark and smelled like mildew.

Magnificent old grand hotel, very well maintained, with wonderful, accommodating staff.

Positives: Spaciousness and quality of room &amp; furnishings.

Negatives: Hotel parking cost $50 - totally unexpected.

The front desk staff was friendly, the rest were rude. The prices were outrageous, but the location and the looks of the hotel were great. Overall, it was a great deal can't have everything!

Positives: It was right in the middle of union square, which was extremely convenient.

Negatives: The prices were. They charged 18 dollars for hot chocolate and 15 dollars for 15 minutes of internet time. Outrageous!
