Breakfast offered was not sufficient. Not everyone wants sugared products.

From it outside appearance, the Americana Inn seemed like an okay hotel to stay for (especially for the money I paid. However, when we walked into our first hotel room my friend came out in her underwear screaming because there was a HUGE COCKROACH on the wall near the drapes. We asked for another room immediately and the staff obliged with no hesitation. Overall not a HORRIBLE experience but not a great one either.

I would recommend this hotel to everyone I meet, I felt like I was at home. Thanks Sheraton.

Arrived tired, staff pleasant. Two rooms reserved both rooms on the second floor side by side made visiting easier. Nice restaurant (coco's) within short walk. Conveniently located near the beach and the border. Overall very nice place to stay.

Positives: Comfortable beds, right near the interstate but quiet.

The room seemed fairly neat and clear when my family and I first got there. But as we were getting ready for bed, my husband kept smelling this odor coming from his side of the bed and it smelled like sweat and vomit. We could not figure it out where the smell was coming from. The next night, my husband found a cockroach behind the TV. I could not get a good night sleep after that. This hotel will not be good for family that has young children only because of the un-cleanliness. In conclusion, we will not go back to this hotel again.

I needed something that was near the San Diego port just to stay the night for our cruise the next day but not too pricey. This was by far the best value. All we were doing was staying a night to be near the port which, by the way, was about a 20 minute drive and its in downtown. Super convenient! The room, of course, needed to be decent as well and it was. It was literally your typical average hotel room (ugly bed spreads) nothing fancy but clean which is the most important to me. It's very good if you don't mind driving just a little bit to San Diego attractions like Sea World or Lego Land. The Spanish style was pretty cute. There's a Coco's that you can walk to which is very convenient for meals  especially, if you have children. There was also a refrigerator in our room, hair dryer and again, it was clean!

Positives: I liked that it was close to San Diego attractions for the price.

Negatives: The front desk staff.

It is a good spot for the traveler that likes to go to Mexico, shopping, doctor, etc. close and convenient. Overall, it was good. I could have stayed down the street for a lot less and got the same service; seemed a little pricey.

Positives: Close to Mexico. They provide transportation to and from Mexico for the guests.

Negatives: They did not provide shampoo.

They moved our room at check in at our request to be close to another family member that had checked in earlier. The rooms were nice and the staff was friendly. Cocoas are in the parking lot and the food there was just "Okay", nothing to write home about.

I was very impressed with the clean and updated room. The front desk staff was very helpful. I was expecting a so-so hotel, but was pleasantly surprised to find such nice accommodations at the 2-star level. Thank you.

Best Western Americana Hotel room did not have advertised features including high speed internet access; had musty, old worn carpet& funishings; broken refrig. Hotel staff did not respond to request for another room for the 2nd day. Staff did change the first day from a smoking room to a non-smoking room - and showed me the reservation request for a "smoking room.

Positives: Hotel staff changed the "smoking room" requested

Negatives: Quality of the room much below quality rating
