Cleaning staff was very friendly and only issue was that television was somehow programmed to an HBO station every day at 12:35 pm and could not be disabled. Complained to front desk and was told a maintenance person would look at. Not fixed and no follow up. The free morning breakfast, though simple was free and always well stocked and prepared. Definitely better than a plain continental breakfast.

Positives: Courteous, free breakfast every morning at least more than continental.

Negatives: Bathroom is small and with door opening inward was tight in and out. Had issue with television that was programmed to HBO station each day for 90 minutes.

Room clean, beds comfortable. Environment relaxed and secure. Great place for folks traveling to and for Camp Pendleton.

Positives: Greeting staff was excellent. Room comfy & clean. Very satisfied with price and will stay again if in San Clemente.

Negatives: It was a little off the beaten path.

A very nice hotel for the $.

Positives: It was newly remolded!

Negatives: The private road leading-up to the hotel/a dog was barking!

We were very happy with this hotel. It was very clean and the staff was great. Free breakfast is always a plus. Negatives: Hotel is hard to find. Pool does not have sun on it for very long so sun bathing is difficult and no jacuzzi.

Positives: Front desk was awesome. Very nice hotel for money.

Negatives: No jacuzzi and exercise room smelled. Hard to find.

Friendly, efficient staff. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast wasn't fancy, but definitely sufficient.

Positives: Enjoyed the fresh-baked cookies and fruit in the lobby, early evening.

Negatives: Only stayed 1 night. Didn't notice anything negative.

Recently renovated with a very efficient staff! Included breakfast was excellent! Also liked the free Wi-Fi in the rooms! Freeway noise was only negative! Would definitely stay here again!

Positives: Excellent value for the $$$!

Negatives: Freeway noise!

Hotel has been updated, but the rooms had a musty smell and the views were not very good. The pool is adjacent to the lobby, very small with only 6 lounge chairs.

Positives: Close to highway entrance.

Negatives: Terrible views, especially from inside rooms.

The hotel was under construction when I visited but it was tolerable. They did not start until after 9 am. Remodeling to include a nice restaurant and updated rooms. Quaint atmosphere and nice staff. The rooms were nicely decorated and the beds comfortable. Aged hotel, but all in all was great.

Positives: Quaint atmosphere.

Negatives: Location. Hard to find and you actually have to drive through several parking lots to get to. It is obscured by a bridge.

This was overall a nice place to stay and I would return to stay there the next time I visit San Clemente CA.

Positives: It's colonial Spanish look.

We stayed for 8 nights. For the positive, we enjoyed the continental breakfast, outdoor pool, and private patio. We also like the free Internet access. It was nice to have a mini-fridge and microwave. The things we did not like were: when we got there, we could not get a King bed room as we had selected. They were not available. Our room was on the bottom floor which smelled like mildew. The carpet in our room turned our feet black. There were large cockroaches in our room and the downstairs foyer, which was never cleaned while we were there. The bed was very firm. Our room was right next to the freeway so very noisy.

Positives: I liked the private patio and the outdoor pool.

Negatives: I did not like the dirty carpets and hard bed.

At first glance I was a bit concerned. Location is very odd. Inside was clean and the rooms themselves were much nicer than the hall ways. The rooms were upgraded and nice.

Positives: Rooms were updated and nice.

Negatives: Halls ways on 3rd floor need to be cleaned and the location is a bit odd and way in the back behind a group of stores.

It is a very average hotel, nothing special, but clean.

Positives: It was clean with good maid service.

This was the nicest hotel room I have ever had. All new clean. There was a bed and a couch, so seemed homier than the typical hotel room. However, it overlooked the freeway, so opening the window meant the room was quite noisy.

Positives: The nicest hotel room I have ever had. Clean, new, had a couch.

Negatives: Awkward location overlooks freeway.

Good for the money but it seemed to be in need of some TLC. Some paint is needed in the lobby and hallways. The room was ok but the mattress needs to be replaced.

Positives: The warm pool water.

Negatives: People smoking and drinking around the pool and talking loudly.

My wife, daughter, and I recently drove from Texas to California so that we could score some surf. 1. The pool was wonderful. It's heated and was very clean. 2. Although you have to drive through a shopping center parking lot to get to the hotel, the location was great. A short distance away are the beaches and some world class surf breaks. Also, the hotel was approx 55 miles north of San Diego, and 60 miles south of LA. 3. The staff was super friendly. 4. Ask for a room on the 2nd floor. We were on the second floor and I could only feel sorry for the people downstairs when my daughter would run up and down the hallway.

Positives: Location! A short drive to some great surf.

Negatives: Ironing board wouldn't go down (that's it!).

This was a great surprise. Seems they upgraded the units, and combined 2 adjacent rooms into a kind of suite. Having 2 full baths, and sleeping for 6, 2 on queen bed, and 2 on each of 2 sofa beds. 2 TVs, 2 balconies. It was more than I expected for the price. A little odd that you have to drive through a shopping mall parking lot to get to it.

Positives: Marble tiles, and counters was a surprise for an older hotel.

Negatives: Shows its age, no fruit in breakfast area.

The staff was nice and the room was clean but the location was strange. It was really easy to find and right off of the freeway. You knew you were close to the beach even though you could not see it.

Positives: It was pretty once you got up the hill.

Negatives: It was in the back of a shopping mall.
