Stately Grand Victorian, a Devine contrast to a big hotel, a little rough on the edges. Character & charm abound and the food is superb.
Positives: I love older houses.
Negatives: Needs some TLC.

This hotel has a lot of potential. It was badly in need of repair, updating, and those easy touch-ups such as updated bedding, new carpeting, furniture that wasn't purchased second hand, hair dryer and alarm clock that worked, etc.
Positives: Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Great breakfast!
Negatives: The hotel had a strong mold smell, badly needed painting and updating.

Friendly and helpful staff. Super clean room, tons of space, and romantic nostalgic building.
Positives: Clean and romantic.
Negatives: Did not experience restaurant.

This was a very nice stay. The hotel is beautiful and the staff nice and helpful. The only negative is that because it is an old building it has old building water issues. The water temperature does not stay consistent Be ready for spurts of cold and hot water while taking a shower. The good news is this will not effect you if you make use of the quite spacious whirlpool tub.
Positives: The staff was very kind and more than willing to help with any of our requests. The building was beautiful.
Negatives: The water in the shower would change temp. frequently and drastically.

The re-modeled Victorian was charming and authentic. The elegant marble bathroom was spacious and the shower and spa tub were large enough for two. I enjoyed the soft cotton sheets and comforter. The room was large and simply decorated. I felt like I was a wealthy Victorian lady. The hotel being downtown near the fire station made it noisy and it took away from the over all ambiance of this fine old home.
Positives: Sheets were soft, good breakfast, good design and bathrooms.
Negatives: Lock on door didn't work, needs softer pillows, noisy.

It is a nice hotel to stay during a short visit to downtown Sacramento, friendly staff and fabulous look and presentation.
Positives: I really liked the look of the hotel and the shower/spa was very comfortable.
Negatives: Parking was extremely difficult and I ended up parking in an alley behind the hotel, not very safe for me!

Gracious, clean and large room. Beautiful bath. Decent breakfast included. Rock-hard pillows. Difficult temperature control. Worst feature was distant, expensive parking lot.
Positives: Attractive, spacious room.
Negatives: Only very expensive public parking and two blocks away.

Friendly staff. Lovely front porch veranda. Big spacious rooms. It's a house, so it's not the cookie cutter solidity of a big hotel. Comfortable bed.
Positives: Wireless spot and the spacious rooms; location to the conference center.
Negatives: A little sketchy after 9:00 pm; bright lights in the parking lot next door.

Hotel has been allowed to be turned into a frat party rental, shabby decor, dirty sheets, loud music allowed, drunks in the halls. We left at midnight and came home. Terrible experience.
Positives: Good restaurant
Negatives: dirty, noisy, shabby
