I love that the hotel in in the middle of downtown where there are many great attractions, restaurants, and shopping with in walking distance.
Positives: The building was an old downtown building but very well maintained reflecting a younger feeling hotel.
Negatives: The side exits where not easily useable.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Our TV did not work staff responded quickly and moved us to another room. The hotel was very run down. Room was shabby, carpet dirty. The air conditioner sounded like a jet engine. No ice machine on first floor. Walls were thin. Coffee maker in room did not work. There was no good place to walk a dog. Pet fee $50!

The hotel was clean and romantic. I enjoyed my stay. Most of the staff was friendly and very helpful and it was in a very good location for my business travel and will come and stay there again and will refer people as well.

The Clarion has a great location in downtown Sacramento. It is not the cleanest, newest, or most quiet hotel but for the price it definitely gets the job done.
Positives: Decent hotel for a good price.

Other than the pond, the rooms are old but seems to be kept up. No issues.

Comfortable stay, other than the bathroom facilities, for the price at a great location. The beds were amazing!

Very basic room with a lot of outside noise made it hard to sleep well.

This hotel stinks, the showers are stained from some kind of growth in the grout, front desk is not friendly, especially night shift.

I was quite worried about staying at this hotel. I was a female traveling by myself and was worried about my safety. I was also concerned about the parking situation, as I was hauling a small trailer. Both concerns were unwarranted. It is not in a bad neighborhood and the parking was secure. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel staff was very helpful and pleasant. I would definitely stay here again if I was traveling to Sac.

My husband had to go to Target and midnight to buy an airbed for our other two children to sleep on as the hotel did not have roll away beds.

Extremely limited parking. Unfriendly staff could not find my reservation. Took about 15 minutes to check in. Locks on room door were broken. Room was 58 degrees - freezing! Bathroom door had a hole kicked in it. Brown splatters on the wall in the bathroom - you guess what it was. Cobwebs hanging off the lamps next to the bed. No internet service despite what they advertised. "It doesn't work too well when it rains" I was told. This Clarion was an absolute dump and I would never stay here again and caution others to avoid it. I have stayed here before and it was ok but it has certainly gone downhill!

The hotel staff was very friendly. The lobby and restaurant matched the star rating-prices were a little high in the restaurant though. I wouldn't want to stay there on a long vacation, but one night wasn't too bad.

I was traveling by myself and worried a little bit about my safety being down town Sacramento. It was no worries-it was safe, comfortable, with secure parking.
Positives: I was nervous about my safety being Downtown Sac. It was no worries here. Safe, clean, secure parking! Great Place!

No lounge, diet drinks up stairs were all sold out. No Jacuzzi! No continental breakfast. Nothing special about this hotel to considerate it a 2.5*.

Very clean! Fountain in the courtyard was nice & you could open the sliding glass door and sit on the balcony and view the courtyard and fountain or leave the door open during the night and listen to the fountain. The beds were quite comfortable. The staff was very friendly. If I had to say one thing I didn't like it would be a very minor complaint; but the parking spaces were incredibly small. If you have or rented a big vehicle or SUV it would be very tight to get into the space and then get out of the car if the parking lot was full.

This hotel was very clean, pleasant, but way too noisy. We had a downstairs room and it we could hear every step taken upstairs. Also, the hotel is old so the AC heat is a two pipe system and you can't have a/c at night in the fall.
