Exactly as advertised. Clean room, fast wi-fi and friendly staff. Good for a stay for the night.
Positives: Very clean. Attentive and friendly staff.
Negatives: Industrial neiborhood

This hotel is perfectly located right off the 5 freeway. The rooms are definitely upscale and the beds are comfortable.
Positives: The quality and cleanliness of the room makes this an outstanding value for your dollar.
Negatives: The gardeners do not respect the vehicles in the parking lot. Damaged my new vehicle.

Get your walks in before dark, the neighborhood does not appear safe. No restaurant on site, so arrange delivery or drive somewhere. Coffee shop across the street, seafood restaurant down the street, but go before dark.
Positives: Free wifi.
Negatives: Seedy neighborhood, no restaurant, old TV.

We had to take the shuttle 2 to 3 times a day and they were always kind and on time! The pool was small but very child friendly. The housekeepers cleaned our room for 4 days only moved items that had to be moved to do their job. The interior of the lobby and rooms were very calming and comfortable. Breakfast was good and very clean room. I liked that fact their were at least 3 small areas for gathering and not having to worry about making to much noise. And the Maple room was always open for gathering with friends in a larger space than your room. I
enjoyed my stay with 2 other adults and 4 teenagers!
Positives: The lobby was pleasant, pretty, and comfortable. Everyone from front desk to housekeeping were friendly!
Negatives: The breakfast could have a more fruit choices.

I enjoyed the hotel very much. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was great.
Positives: Very clean and nice!
Negatives: The area of the hotel is not very nice.

Gross - I have never before been disappointed by a hotel. This one was dirty. Smelled bad. Room smelled even worse. Pool water was cloudy - turned my daughters hair green. Desk clerk was rude. Bed had no blankets - just one bedspread that was kind a greasy. Homeless people and hookers walking the street out front. I didn't dare eat the free food because it looked gross. Fortunately there was a McDonald's next door but the bright light made it difficult to sleep. I hope we don't have bedbugs now. This place was nasty.
Positives: Nothing location was good except for the homeless people.
Negatives: Uncomfortable bed lumpy pillow dirty, pool smelly room and rude desk clerk.

Have stayed here a few times now while visiting family in the area. We love that its so clean, comfy and has the pool in summer and the benefit of having the breakfast area in the morning helps the start of a good day. Will stay here again, many times I am sure.
Positives: Very Clean, well kept and close to freeway access and restaurants.
Negatives: There was not one thing negative in this lovely hotel, for me.

The staff and the hotel were nice for the value that I was able to get the room at.
Positives: Very clean and comfortable.
Negatives: Noise factor of freeway.

It was clean and convenient, said the price was for 2 people, but there was an additional charge for 2 beds.
Positives: Close to I-5.
Negatives: Supposed to deal with 2 people, but when I asked for 2 beds got an additional $10.00 charge.

This is a really nice place, and for the price I think most travelers will be surprised at how deluxe, yet low key and well run it is.
Positives: The room was really nice, great bed and has a very nice lobby, and complimentary services were above average.
Negatives: It is right next to a very noisy freeway.

Good for business travel. Rooms were neat but had old style TV, no flat screen or good choice of programs.
Positives: The staff was friendly and helpfully attentive.
Negatives: Cleaning fluids used made hotel smell institutional.

The accommodations in relation to the price were outstanding. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Room was large and clean. Bed was comfy.
Positives: Large rooms, clean, and small price.
Negatives: No bath tub.

1 star price with 1 star feel
Positives: The price was right but did not fit a 3 star level of quality.
Negatives: Sub-par rooms location was not the best area.

The hotel is quiet, clean and well maintained. It was located one block from the freeway making it an easy on/off. The only negative was the first hotel employee I met was the front desk clerk. They seemed less than willing to help me get settled
Positives: Location to nearby restaurants, my event, and shopping centers.
Negatives: There is only one elevator and it was located at the other end of the building

The hotel is aging a bit, but the rooms are of a good size and comfortable.
Positives: The hotel was quiet and offered a free continental breakfast with a good selection of items.
Negatives: The room had a strong smell of cleaning solution.

Although the bed was comfortable and rooms were large, you could hear noise in the hallways because the doors are not sealed. The light shows completely around it. I had to list 4 adults and 1 child (age 9), but when I arrived, we only had 2 rooms with king beds. In order to get a room with 2 queens, it was $10.00 more. What a surprise!
Positives: The bed was comfortable, however the finishing work in the bathroom is cheap.
Negatives: The location is questionable. I felt like I could touch the McDonald's drive through screen outside the window.

Very nice recently renovated hotel. Clean and comfortable. Staff was courteous.
Positives: Close to down town city activities.
Negatives: Safety was a mild concern. Transients in the parking lot at night.

Downtown location. Friendly staff. Older, tired facility, marginally clean, despite claims of "recent remodel". Next to noisy freeway with poorly insulated windows. The advertised afternoon "sherry & cookies" never appeared, and the minimal breakfast was almost an hour late.
Positives: Friendly staff.
Negatives: "non-smoking" room had been smoked in.
Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 17 Sep 2010 rated 9 out of 10.
It met our needs for a clean place to sleep.
Positives: Updated decor and easy access to Interstate 80.
Negatives: The neighborhood was a little too industrial, but not too noisy.

Lovely spacious lobby. Not good area if you are on foot. Hot tub and pool were basic, but clean and temperatures good. Night staff was not helpful about finding food when we arrived at midnight, although the lobby did have information about late night places to eat/drink which we discovered the next day.
Positives: Hot tub and cool pool.
Negatives: Breakfast was skimpy and unimaginative, for 3-star hotel

The Hotel is in the process of being remodeled so everything is very new and tastefully done. The room layout was great for accommodating more than one person in the room. The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful with directions. Didn't make the deadline to get the breakfast before 9:00 so can't comment on that, but the breakfast room was very nice, very large.
Positives: Recently remodeled so very nice and clean.
Negatives: Breakfast closed exactly at 9:00.

This is not a hotel, it is more of a motel.
Positives: Nothing.
Negatives: Under construction, smells like paint everywhere, parking lot was blocked, pool stunk.

Excellent service, cleanliness and amenities. You will have to drive a distance to find a good restaurant. We tried the one across the street . The food was blah and service was poor. That is the only drawback to this very nice "Inn".
Positives: It had everything one would want; clean attractive rooms, exercise room , swimming pool and continental breakfast. It also had WiFi and HBO.
Negatives: Although it was very close to the freeway it wasn't close to good restaurants.

Impressed with friendly staff. Enjoyed having a waffle machine for breakfast!
Positives: Friendly staff and great breakfast.
Negatives: I could not stay longer.

I am speaking from perspective of someone that travels quite a bit and uses Priceline quite often. I was very dissappointed. The hotel star rating was wrong, I paid more than posted rate, not in neighborhood disclosed. i was scared to leave my car in the parking lot.
Positives: Nothing.
Negatives: Location, paint smell, incorrect star rating..

It was not in "downtown" Sacramento and was a major impediment to my being in downtown Sacramento for business.
Positives: Leaving.
Negatives: No sparkle whatsoever.

Governors Inn exceeded our expectations. The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated and the front desk staff was superb. The pool and hot tub were encased in beautiful green vines that shield guests from the outside world.
Positives: Governors Inn was quiet, updated, and comfortable.
Negatives: There were some homeless folks and police cars around a lot.
Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 30 May 2010 rated 8 out of 10.
After reading the other reviews here, I expected much less than what I found. I would not call the location of this hotel "industrial" as much as commercial. The area to the south of the hotel property itself may be more industrial, but in truth, the area around the hotel is simply "business".
Positives: Super easy access to I-10.
Negatives: Could not get the in-room Wifi system to function.

The gentleman on staff from Germany was very hospitable. The driver of the airport shuttle was also very kind. I was happy with the price I paid, as well as all expectations of this hotel. I do not recommend them keeping the phone food service they supply guests with. It is very unorganized, confusing, and I never received the food I ordered, thus forcing me to go out, alone late at night.
Positives: Good location, free shuttle from bus terminal and back to airport in morning.
Negatives: The order in room service never showed up after waiting 2.5 hours. Also the morning buffet was not fully stocked.

It was easy to get off the freeway, very clean and recently remodeled. Very NICE hotel. Would stay there again.
Positives: Excellent room and decor.
Negatives: We liked the experience at this hotel.

3+ star. Friendly, clean, quiet. TV are small and old. Entertainment center looks like it from the 80's.
Positives: Comfortable beds, clean, quiet, friendly.
Negatives: Location. Not a very safe area. TV is old and small.

This hotel is in a horrible location. I would not go for a walk outside after dark. However, they are renovating and our room was newly completed, it was very modern and nice. It has a decent, if not spectacular, continental breakfast (with waffles only on weekdays). It was loud though, both outside and in the hallways, my suggestion would be new windows and doors to keep the noise out better. The best part of our stay was the gentleman working the swing shift at the front desk was very helpful and friendly.
Positives: Night front desk staff was awesome.
Negatives: Horrible location.

I use priceline to book all my hotels this was the first time i was truly disappointed. I know now to be very careful when reviewing all hotels in my scope of choice.
Positives: Location and clean.
Negatives: Old bedspreads no bathtub not very friendly.

The Governors Inn hotel was a good choice for a quick overnight stay. I didn't have a rental car, and was pleased that the shuttle service was complimentary. I did notice that the same individual who picked me up from the airport was the same person who checked me out of the hotel the next morning. Overall, the staff was friendly and I'd stay again if I needed an inexpensive overnight location.
Positives: Free airport shuttle and continental breakfast.
Negatives: Not within easy walking distance to many restaurants and no on-site restaurant.
Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 11 Feb 2010 rated 7 out of 10.
Not bad for a highway travel stop, but not a downtown location. Their shuttle doesn't take you anywhere except to the train or plane. It will cost you an extra $20 rt for a business trip inside the city.
Positives: Nice sheets and towels.
Negatives: Location.
Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 07 Feb 2010 rated 9 out of 10.
Best, soft cotton American-made towels. Good value/convenient to Highway access/nicely recently renovated.
Positives: Good price value/newly renovated/good WiFi.
Negatives: No restaurant.

Positives: Very comfortable beds, very clean. Quality continental breakfast.
Negatives: Internet did not work
Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 31 Jan 2010 rated 9 out of 10.
Friendly staff, good shower pressure, clean rooms.
Positives: Priced right, clean, and above average overall.
