This is a fine contemporary hotel, everything appears new and fresh due to its being only 3 years old. I recommend this hotel for business groups and professional's more so than for young families with children.

Positives: Location, bay views, restaurant assortment.

Negatives: They could have offered a bay view upgrade, rooms were available.

Negatives: Cost of extra services.

Happy with the whole experience, with the exception of the availability to have access to your car.

Positives: Convenient, pleasant staff, and comfortable.

Negatives: No self parking - a pain for getting your car, adds sufficiently to the price.

Positives: Location, fireplace, & balcony.

Negatives: Wife didn't think bed was comfortable.

Great location. Pricey, but I was able to get a pretty good deal through Priceline. Very friendly staff. Room was not ready by check-in, but they were able to switch me to another room that was ready. Did not have time to dine at the restaurant, but the outdoor patio area looked nice.

Positives: Location was perfect and the bed was very comfortable.

Negatives: Paid valet parking only.

Hotel was beautifully located, with spacious bathrooms and bedrooms. Everything was clean and well maintained. Would have like to have an ocean view but only the outer rooms have that view. Everyone treated us very well. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Positives: Spacious bathroom and

Negatives: Got ants in our car from Valet parking.

Friendly, professional staffing. Located right on the ocean on Cannery Row; just a short walk from the Monterey Bay Aquarium, shops and great dining restaurants. Rooms are well appointed and the beds very comfortable.

Positives: Absolutely great location in Monterey. Close to everything you want to do.

Negatives: Parking a bit pricey.

This hotel is beautiful, nicely decorated, and beautiful rooms. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Perfect location to all shopping and attractions located on the beach, right next door to the aquarium. All in walking distance. Would highly recommend this hotel. We had a great time, we took our daughter and 2 1/2<BR/>year old grandson for easter weekend and my grandsons first trip to the aquarium.

Positives: Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful hotel and location.

Negatives: Parking was an additional $21.00 even if you were a guest.

Wi-Fi should really be free in luxury hotels. Some staff members were not very friendly.

Positives: Convenient location.

Negatives: Smaller rooms than I expected, we don't get ocean view, no free Wi-Fi.

His was a wonderful hotel. So close to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which we planned on visiting. The wait staff were so wonderful. They were kind and very helpful. If you needed anything at all, they were on top of it. The desk clerk and manager however, were a different story. When we arrived at The Clement in December, (I had made reservations in early November and had called to confirm the morning of our trip) we were shown a room with a king sized bed, but there were four of us, 2 adults, 2 teens. So the bellboy took us back to the front desk and we were told, & quot;sorry, we cannot guarantee rooms if you make the reservation using priority club points & quot; I asked why I wasn't told that and they said we should have been. So I asked what one was supposed to do if they come from a long way (4 hrs) away expecting to get their room that they had booked. He said you just have to take a chance, but Priority Club members get last choice and this particular weekend there was nothing available. That certainly didn't ring true so I asked for the manager and he confirmed what the desk clerk said. So I asked what we were supposed to do. He said & quot;I don't know, we're booked, but let me see if I can find you something.& quot; After about 20 minutes, he &quot;found&quot; us a room at their hotel and our vacation started. Even though it was a very stressful beginning, because I wasn't sure if we were going to have a place to sleep, after we got our room, we had a wonderful time. Monterey is lovely and the hotel is very centrally located to the things that we wanted to do. I would recommend this hotel only if you don't use priority club points because they treat you like you are trying to stay for free. In order to receive enough club points, we paid for and stayed at many, many hotels. We just wanted to use one of the perks of being a member. Obviously, The Clement doesn't want member of the Priority Club staying at their hotel.

Positives: Wait staff was incredible. Very nice and helpful.

Negatives: Desk clerk very rude, and hotel doesn't like people who used Priority Club Points.

Probably nicest hotel on Cannery Row. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location is right on Monterey Bay and in the heart of the action, next to the Aquarium. Rooms including bedding and bathrooms were luxurious.

Positives: Staff was very attentive. Rooms are immaculate.

Negatives: No traditional swimming pool, only a small lap pool in odd location.

Positives: The hotel has a very nice location on the ocean and it is very nice to sit down and look at the water.

Negatives: Maybe a little noisy from time to time.

This hotel is new, beautiful and right on the ocean. It has wonderful areas to sit and watch the ocean and to get drinks. It has fire pits on the patio.

Positives: Location was excellent, next to Aquarium and right on ocean.

Negatives: Parking is $20/day.

Overall, the hotel is very nice. It is furnished with modern furniture throughout. The bed was very comfortable and featured a white down comforter with soft sheets and pillows. The view of the ocean from the hotel's main balcony area was wonderful. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the appetizer menu from there. The valet parking was very convenient and the staff worked hard to please.

Positives: I liked the location of the hotel. In the heart of Cannery Row.

Negatives: I did not like the room that faced the wall of the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

We were immediately impressed and continued to be so throughout our stay. Quite surprisingly, we didn't notice any disadvantage to booking the room on Priceline, specifically, our room was located in the main building, on the bay side of the street, and our room was well located, not on the street or above a service alley. On the first morning, the power was out throughout the city but they had emergency generators running so that we didn't know of the outage. When we went downstairs for breakfast, we learned of the power outage and they informed us that they couldn't prepare full breakfasts but they provided continental-style breakfast to all guests for free (not a normal practice). On our last day, we checked out at 11:00 only to find that the hotel restaurant was closed between 11:00 and 11:30 in order to transition to the lunch menu (somewhat odd and annoying) but they reopened the kitchen and fixed us breakfast. They also let me back into the business center after we had checked out so that I could print a contract from my attorney, and one of the desk clerks went downstairs and faxed the signed contract, even providing the fax confirmation. Normally we stay at 3-star hotels but we were very pleased with the 4-star treatment.

Positives: Fantastic location - right on Cannery Row. Excellent service - they had multiple opportunities to shine and did.

Negatives: The valet parking lot was remote so it took 10+ minutes to retrieve our vehicle. Front desk seemed understaffed on a couple of occasions.

This hotel was beautiful and in a great location. The staff was all very nice and accommodating. The room was extremely comfortable and the only negative was that the bed and pillows were a little too soft for our taste.

Positives: The staff was all extremely friendly.

Negatives: The bed was a little too soft for my liking.
