We had a great stay here. The staff/manager did a great job in making us feel welcome and meeting the needs that we had. Room was very clean and the shower was great.
Positives: Staff/manager was great to deal with and very friendly.
Negatives: The added resort fee.

Lovely setting, overlooking gold course, rest. bar workout. rooms have been refurbished but are definitely not four star. asked for towels at pool, non available, asked for shampoo and this was not provided, kitchen was over whelmed on a holiday.
Positives: The staff were outstanding, especially front desk lady who checked us in and the supervisor of the rest.
Negatives: No towels available at swimming pool, rest. was good. But slow when you have children, young child needed bottle had to pay $5 for each bottle as no Mic.

We had a short 1 night stay. Everything we saw and/or used in the room and around the hotel was up to or beyond our expectation.
Positives: Most everything we used or saw was very good.
Negatives: Although we didn't dine there, menu prices were too much.

Very nice hotel with a welcoming lobby and good sized rooms. They have a refrigerator, which is always a plus - but no microwave. Right on the Del Monte golf course, which was very interesting to see how they groom the course and watch the golfers from our balcony.
Positives: On checkin, I requested and was given a view room right on the golf course!! It was beautiful.
Negatives: Luckily we were on the golf course side, but the other side was really near the highway and was very noisy.

I have stayed at this location before and enjoyed it. There are too many other restaurants in the area to eat in the hotels restaurant. My husband did enjoy the bar "Knuckles".
Positives: The grounds are very serene, the location is pretty on a hillside.
Negatives: It is too far from the Aquarium, downtown and Cannery row. But easy access to hwy to Carmel.

Overall, we enjoyed the hotel. Its close to both but you have to drive and park fir parking. We were in Monterey to visit the aquarium and Wharf. The hotel gave us a cool smores kit for the kids, but the fire pot experience was a nightmare. One cut off as soon as we got there at 9 and security sent us to another pit a half mile away. That fire turned off as soon as we got there too one hour early, we called the front desk and they sent someone. 30 minutes later, the facility guy showed up and said the proponent must have run out. No smores for us. We were disappointed.
Positives: We loved the bathroom decor, design as well as the entire room amenities.
Negatives: We didn't like the temperature if the pool. Cold!

This was a very nice hotel. The price I got through priceline was a fantastic bargain!
Positives: Comfortable bed, spacious room, and updated bathroom.
Negatives: Carpets in hallway looked dirty and room carpet looked a little shabby.

Very nice loved the lobby, housekeeping was very nice!
Positives: Very roomy.
Negatives: Not enough water pressure could barely take a shower.

This is a beautiful older resort-type hotel. They did a good job renovating the rooms for a more modern feel and the bed is very comfortable. The fact that it is not brand new doesn't matter at all to me so I was very satisfied. One word of warning though, the west side of the hotel faces both Highway 1 and the parking lot. It is extremely loud. We had to shut our sliding glass door and put on the equally loud, but with a more constant white noise portable air-conditioner. I mentioned how loud it was to one of the housekeepers and she said, those who know about that always ask for the pool side. So now you know, ask for the pool side, (which closes at 9:00 so you won't be bothered by noise until all hours of the night) and you won't be disappointed.
Positives: Great location, and
Negatives: The freeway noise is extremely loud.

The grounds were very nice and they did offer some activities, however there was a $15 fee for this even if you were not planning on using any of the things that were offered. While I did not mind paying, I wish it was mentioned ahead of time. I did feel the room while clean and very nice it did have a refrigerator that did not work and the room was very hot. If staying for more than one night I would have complained. However we were given 2 complimentary drinks in the lounge and that was very nice.
Positives: Lobby was very nice and the staff was very helpful.
Negatives: While room was nice I felt we got a lower quality room that we wouldn't have been in if paying full $. Fridge did not work, room was very hot no AC.

Everything was great. I just didn't like the door in the restroom. It did not lock.
Positives: Room service.
Negatives: I liked everything.

I was expecting this hotel to be more glamorous as a resort Hyatt hotel. Even though our room and bathroom looked updated and more modern, the overall feel of the hotel was dated. The bathroom door was a sliding door panel that left a big gap between the doorway and the door. The bathroom itself was gorgeous and very spacious.
Positives: Nicely remodeled rooms and bathrooms.
Negatives: Noise in hallway was very audible.

Good location, friendly employees and very informative.
Positives: Location.

Hotel is older has a musty smell. Decorated very nicely beds were very comfortable.
Positives: Great location and close to everything.
Negatives: $9.95 to use the Internet and $14.95 to use the facilities.

This hotel is ideal for couples without kids. The sound insulation is very poor. You can hear your neighbors all the time. Luckily, there was no screaming kids during our stay.
Positives: Room is OK. Plenty of space in the compound.
Negatives: The front desk staff could be friendlier and better staffed. There was only one staff serving 5 guests when were there.
Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 17 Nov 2010 rated 8 out of 10.
I generally liked the hotel. There was a lot of older couples staying there. We are in our late twenties/early thirties, and the other couples seemed to be in fifties. Also, there was not any drawer space in the room.
Positives: Neat and
Negatives: Room was smaller than expected. Spa closed too early.

The next best thing to the Ritz.
Positives: EVERYTHING! Sports bar, food, and hospitality.
Negatives: Size of bath tub and parking.

This place has 26 separate buildings, I didn't consider how loud a place like this could be. The rooms were modern and very stylish. However, there was no air conditioning and the room was a little stuffy. When I opened the window there was a lot of noise from other guests who decided to have a little party outside their rooms. It was a little disappointing but for the money I felt like it was justified. What wasn't justified was the $15 per night resort fee. How on earth can you get away with hidden charges like that? Very unsatisfied with the shadiness and won't be coming back.
Positives: Great modern decor.
Negatives: Hidden resort fee.

We had booked for three nights . The first night they said they were completly sold out and gave us a room with two double beds as opposed to the king we had requested and right next to the freeway. We were able to move the next day to a better room . Would not stay here again .
Positives: Would not stay here again.
Negatives: Too close to freeway, very noisey !.

First impressions of the hotel and it's property were very positive. Large, nicely maintained grounds and recreation areas. The rooms facing Route 1 were very noisy and hot (we had two rooms). It felt more like a two-star hotel.
Positives: Beautiful grounds, restaurant, & swimming pool.
Negatives: Hotel rooms were very hot (cooling system not working) and hallways were dirty.

Great hotel. They charge $16 for parking. Very friendly staff. On the golf course. They charge $9.99 per day for Internet. Pool and spa were clean and very comfortable.
Positives: All the hotel maids were friendly and looked you in the eyes.
Negatives: Carpets need to be cleaned, at least in the rooms.

Our room was located away from the freeway and the weather was in the low 60's. If we had to open the windows it would have been noisy. No a/c in the rooms so we lucked out with our location.
Positives: Beautiful views of the golf course and a great gym.
Negatives: Hairs in the bathroom area, and laundry room had a major flood and no sign on the door.
Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 10 Aug 2010 rated 9 out of 10.
Great secluded location and away from the crowds. Large rooms with all the amenities included. Would definitely stay there again.
Positives: Secluded
Negatives: No air conditioning.

Very nice hotel, they seemed to put the families in one area in the very back of the hotel. It was near the pool. Very nice accommodations, however, the walls seemed to be a little thin you could hear your next door neighbor some.
Positives: Great bathrooms!
Negatives: Lack of parking in the evening.

Room was clean but electrical wires to ceiling fan hanging out of the wall and ceiling fan didn't work. Door did not seal and room was next to busy street so very noisy. The live jazz music in the lounge was wonderful and made the stay nice.
Positives: The live jazz music in the lounge.
Negatives: Comfort.

Off beaten track from tourist locales, line for coffee in AM, buffet unappealing, smoking rooms too far out, patio littered with cigarette butts and landscaping unkempt. Room was also next to highway - noisy. front desk upgraded to better room. no AC, they suggest opening slider door and using fan. Not realistic since on ground floor. was not able to UP volume control on TV beyond moderate level. Nothing complimentary except coffee maker in room. Daily spa/resort fee on top of room rate should be optional for those who wish to use those facilities. So called renovation was hard to locate other than bathroom fixtures, bedding, carpet, TV. Dirty clock radio, and no free Wi-Fi. $10.00 24 hour fee. Nice beds. Not enough parking. Had to park far from room. Would have been very disappointed to pay full price at this Hyatt but since we got a good rate on Priceline, it was just OK. There were only 2 choices for 3-1/2 star hotels which were the "best buy". In hindsight, would have changed star request to have had more options for rooms/hotels with better location.
Positives: Friendly & helpful front desk upgraded to better room.
Negatives: Dated exterior and interior, no AC, volume on TV pre-set.

Night staff was rude. Nice room decor but too noisy since it was right next to freeway.
Positives: Food was delicious.
Negatives: Too noisy. It felt like a motel. Too close to freeway.

We enjoyed our visit to Monterey but the hotel elevators were not well placed therefore people were constantly bumping and dragging there luggage up and down the stairs. Unfortunately our suite was right near the stairs and the house keeping storage room was next to that. Our room was nice but we got a room right above the pool which is open 7 am to 10 pm so if you are away with no kids on a romantic trip don't ask to be near the pool.
Positives: Bathroom & bedroom were amazing.
Negatives: Lots of noise night and day.

Our first visit, alone to get away from the stress of real life, we spent most of our time in the room. The slamming of other peoples doors kept us awake at night and there were tons of families so the pool was overcrowded, but the location was beautiful and the restaurant fantastic. Despite the noise, it was very relaxing, and I've already recommended it to a friend and planned to return.
Positives: Beautiful views of a golf course, great restaurant onsite and everything you needed.
Negatives: Loud doors slamming heard easily, my view was of the parking lot, spa overpriced.

Very nice hotel with a busy sports bar and restaurant. The ping pong tables, giant outdoor chess, heated pools and fire pit make it great for kids. The tennis courts are also great. The rooms are clean and recently remodeled.
Positives: Ping pong tables, tennis courts, heated pool, giant outdoor chess.
Negatives: No lock on the bathroom door, no fan in the bathroom.
Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 10 Jun 2010 rated 6 out of 10.
Having our window open barely allowed any cool air in, destroyed privacy and forced us to listen to neighbors.
Positives: The bathrooms and decor.
Negatives: Breakfast was pricey.

Hotel was very kid friendly. Nice updated rooms. Room service was great. Close to city attractions.
Positives: Nice rooms.
Negatives: Room smelled like vomit from previous person who stayed in room. No A/C. Hot and stuffy. Spa way to hot for anyone.

We stayed on a graduation weekend, so the hotel was full of giggling girls. Rooms are nice, shower and linens top of the line, staff is very friendly and the gym has state of the art cardio equipment. Our room faced the parking lot and because the hotel is right off the freeway, we were kept up by the sounds of motorcycles and big rigs all night. The rooms are not air conditioned, so closing the window was not an option. I would suggest requesting a room facing the golf course.
Positives: The backside is peaceful overlooking a golf course.
Negatives: Rooms on the front side listen to freeway sounds all night.

The Hyatt Regency is gorgeous. We were so relaxed and the staff are great. We needed technical assistance with the television at around 11PM and they came in and helped us! They were so kind and knowledgeable about exactly what we were looking for. This place has the friendliest staff..
Positives: It was just lovely.
Negatives: I wish it had a microwave.

The hotel was nice except the fact that they allowed animals there. A dog was barking for about 3 hours straight. I called the front desk but no one cared to tell the owner to silence their dog. There were no do not disturb signs to put outside our door so the cleaning lady kept opening our door (3-times) while we were sleeping.
Positives: The lobby was nice.
Negatives: I did not like the internet fee!

It was a great hotel, we loved the weekend. It was hard to find at first but once we knew where it was it was easy enough to get to and felt very secluded. Within walking distance of good restaurants and biking distance of the aquarium. The rooms were really comfortable and well decorated. Watch out for the 15 dollar a day room charge. They say it's for the use of the spa so just make sure you use the spa, because they'll charge you either way.
Positives: Beautiful location, great rooms, very comfortable romantic weekend.
Negatives: We couldn't find it at first so better directions would've been helpful, the concierge said he'd send up a coffee cup and never showed.

Overall - very pleased, loved how spacious & clean it was. The staff/manager was very helpful as well.
Positives: Contemporary and clean.
Negatives: No separate parking for ball rooms & such.

Great staff, easy check in with polite desk and door people. May I recommend a upper floor room with a view; facing the golf course. It's quite beautiful. 10 minute drive to Cannery Row and 5 minutes to the wharf. The Cannery Row area is spectacular in the off-season, smaller crowds, open sidewalks, great service and such.
Positives: The extra large shower and shower head were pretty impressive.
Negatives: Parking in the evening was scarce, but typical for a hotel.
Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 18 Feb 2010 rated 4 out of 10.
The hotel was 3.5 upscale, but the room was a 2 star at best.
Positives: The facilities are nice.
Negatives: This time the room was small with a view to the street.

Great property, great location with a very friendly and helpful staff!
Positives: The hotel has many buildings, all nestled in among large trees and beautiful grounds.
Negatives: The fitness room was adequate, but could have been more extensive.
