The public spaces restored to 20s/30s looks nice. The room was adequate but lighting was low or minimal. The bathroom was very small. The hotel requires valet parking - overnight($30)- if do not want valet must park on street or public parking garage across street from hotel. I was very concerned about items in car. The hotel did finally agree to park my car in a valet space that allowed me to keep the car key. Parking situation not good if you share same concerns.

Positives: Public spaces appear restored to original 20s / 30s.

Negatives: Room lighting minimal/bath very small/parking policy.

This hotel is located on Hollywood building. There are so many things to do if you're a tourist, which we were but, we were only there for one night and for a event so really didn't get to see too much of the hotel or really hang out on Hollywood building. I would definitely stay here again, assuming I can get the same great price on Priceline.

Positives: I love the style of the hotel, it was very clean and in a great location.

Negatives: The hotel room was tiny.

I stayed in the tower section of the hotel. Nice pool are with a nightlife scene. Room was small and could be updated - carpet had wrinkles in it. Had nice view of Chinese theater. Service in general was good.

Positives: Nice pool area and old lobby area.

Negatives: Room needs updating. Food quality at Bridge restaurant could be improved.

Beautiful hotel, great location, and great staff. Highly recommend.

Positives: Everything.

Negatives: Lobby & pool often closed off for private functions.

Hotel was OK - not exactly four star but I didn't expect much more for the price I paid in LA. Room was right behind the elevator which I had the pleasure of hearing all night. Would probably have returned to the hotel if they had given me a better room for my first visit. As it is, not in a hurry to go back.

Positives: Hotel bar was nice.

Negatives: My room - backed onto elevator very noisy.

funky, arty type hotel. While I found the staff friendly, it seemed everything besides the room was very high priced. Expensive overnight parking at $30. The public area rugs (elevators, etc) were stained and should be changed. Otherwise, it was a fairly good value.

Positives: style of the hotel

Negatives: rugs in public areas all needed cleaning

Accommodations were great, the room was a little small, but very clean and up to date with all amenities. Staff went out of their way to help, the Dakota dining experience was fabulous!

Positives: Great atmosphere, great location, excellent service!

Negatives: Pay for parking was excessive.

I've stayed at this hotel before so I decided to put a bid on Priceline and got a great deal. However during check-in the front desk clerk made a point of saying that I booked through a third party and that if I wanted to extend my stay they would not be able to match the rate. I knew this anyway but she was real snotty about letting me know. She gave me a very small room, I mean small as in comparable to rooms in NYC. The door to the bathroom could barely close without hitting the toilet! Their rooms and bathrooms could use some updating. I did extend my stay through Priceline and I had to inconveniently go down to the front desk to check-out then recheck-in. I let them know I was in a very small room so this time they moved me to a bigger room. The room was much better but the AC was not working. It wasn't getting cold but just made this loud buzzing sound. Maintenance came up and fussed with it for about 30 minutes while I worked on my laptop.I was extremely disappointed with my stay this time around. I've stayed at the cabana rooms overlooking the pool many many times. This time I felt I was treated very differently because I booked through a third party.

Positives: Historical hotel, nice pool and lobby area, very conveniently located.

Negatives: Rooms were dated and small, front desk staff was not friendly.

Crappy hotel staff are just trying to be stars they could care less about the patrons!

Positives: I payed less than I expected.

Negatives: Put me near the elevator that made noise constantly even though they were aware of the problem.

Very convenient place to stay if you don't have a car and want to do the Hollywood tourist sites. Can walk to the Chinese and Kodak theaters and all the Walk of Fame sites. Parking is very expensive. Very noisy. Pool is cold and no hot tub but nice ambience. Loved the gas fireplaces outside at night.

Positives: Very convenient location.

Negatives: Parking is $30 per day! Noisy at night.

Good location and fine room, with modern decor. However there was a fee of $10 for WiFi access and $3.50 for coffee.

Positives: Nice huge bed.

Negatives: No free wireless or coffee in the room.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Room service menu was excellent. Customer service was prompt and excellent. Pool not the place to hang out with kids, more of a bar scene. Great place for singles but not for Families.

Positives: Location is close to LA Children's Hospital.

Negatives: Not family inviting. It is a singles party hot spot.

Positives: Valet parking was convenient, well appointed, big, comfy, clean rooms.

Negatives: Valet parking was expensive!

It was a very nice hotel and convenient to everything. Just a walk across the street to a mall, lots of tourist stores and was very clean.

Positives: Right across the street from the Kodak Theatre.

Negatives: Valet parking for $30 per day.

We had an great stay. I would recommend this hotel to others for its upscale decor, location and courteous, helpful staff. I would come equipped with ear plugs next time as I am a light sleeper. The noise level from the street was minimal but noise from the hallway and showers etc was noticeable. The rooms have great contemporary decor but the bathrooms are a bit small. Also I noted that the usual bathroom toiletries given in a 4 star hotel were minimal here.

Positives: Excellent staff and very helpful and friendly.

Negatives: Small bathroom size. Noise in rooms from hallways.

The Roosevelt hotel reception desk had lots of attitude. They made a long line of people wait during check-in while a clerk who was doing nothing would not even make eye contact and call the next person in line. Our room was supposed to be non-smoking, but there was a very strong smell of smoke. The hotel did nothing to accommodate us.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Rooms: smoke smell; very loud ac/heat; loud street noise.

The Roosevelt is worth the 3 1/2 star rating. They've done an excellent job in modernizing the place and it's worth a stay. Even though there were quite a lot of street tramps right around the front door, the Hotel inisde would not show that. It's historic and they do a great job of creating a pool party atmosphere. Great value for the first time Hollywood visitor!

Positives: The hotel staff bend over backwards to make sure you have a great time.

Negatives: There are quite a lot of street tramps right around the hotel front door.

This was a great hotel to stay at. Superb location. The hotel has such history, playing host to the first academy awards. It is an incredible oasis in an otherwise busy area. Very exclusive, very personalized. wonderful, helpful staff getting you in top restaurants without hesitation. A fabulous visit.

Positives: Great nostalgia. A wonderful get-away with super location.

Negatives: I loved it.

Great location if you're visiting Hollywood Blvd, great decor in public areas. However in the rooms, the decor is very minimal. The disco is a pool party that goes on until all hours and is very loud. There were exactly two hand towels, wash cloths and bath towels. The fewest of any hotel I've been in. No tub. Valet parking is $28/day before you add a tip. Don't let them upgrade your room to poolside. That means that you will be trying to sleep in the middle of more noise than you would hear on the on ramp to Wilshire Blvd.

Positives: Location on Hollywood Blvd.

Negatives: Minimalist decor in rooms, no tub, exactly 2 towels, loud party all night at pool.

The Hollywood Roosevelt is simply the best hotel in the Hollywood area. It is next door to great shopping and dining and at night the hotel turns into a destination for a young/hip crowd.

Positives: Amazing decor, fun atmosphere, lovely pool, helpful and considerate staff.

Negatives: Was difficult to get to my room at night, had to go back and forth with bouncer at pool.
