This hotel is probably OK but in a horrible location.<BR/> No business traveler would want to stay in this hotel. I lost $120 per night plus my fees for 2 night. What a bad deal!

Positives: I could not believe you recommended this hotel.

Negatives: It was in a dangerous area with many indigent people on the streets day and night. No safe places within walking distance.

Negatives: Stains on chairs and carpet, room service did not replace my used coffee with new when they cleaned the room.

Easy place to stay with adequate provisions. Friendly staff -- comfortable room. Somewhat lean on amenities -- but no complaints. Would have like more healthy choices in the vending machines. Restaurant was great!

Positives: Personal service in the restaurant by Shannon.

Negatives: Every place I needed to go was out of range for the shuttle. Front doors open with smokers outside and smoke coming into the lobby.

Not a friendly, inviting hotel. The actual room inside was clean and adequate.

It served the purpose of being close to the airport. We probably wouldn't choose to stay in that part of town and it really didn't seem like the downtown area at all. The bed was comfortable and the room was large. The carpet and drapes looked fairly new and clean. Overall it was a comfortable room.

Positives: Close to Long Beach Airport.

Negatives: Bathroom sink area was very small.

The hotel was OK, but having a fitness room on the ground floor right in the front window that did not have workable equipment was stupid. I do like that area around the Queen Mary. It is fun to walk around here. There was no fridge or microwave, so I could not save my leftovers.

Positives: It was a nice area. We walked around and enjoyed it.

Negatives: The fitness center had a bike and 2 treadmills that did not work. No fridge or microwave. Small counter in the bathroom.

Everyone was wonderful. There was a barefoot man who wandered into the lobby. As we were getting out of the elevator, the man fell on the floor. The Staff was very kindly helping him to get up and sit on the couch. He told them he had to use the restroom. They showed him the restroom. He was disoriented and wet himself. They were still kind to him and called 911. Later we asked about the man and they told us he was a missing person. He lived down the street and had been lost all night. Their kindness and patience with him was wonderful. If I am in the area again I will definitely stay there! The people at the front desk were helpful in telling us where restaurants and shopping were. The shuttle drivers were also helpful with things to do and they were fun!

Negatives: There were no door signs to put out when you were ready for the room to be made up.

I've stayed here many times and continue to go back. It's in a good location and easy to come and go from the underground parking. During my last stay, the staff was very helpful when my plans changed. Good food in the restaurant at the hotel for dining or room service. Overall a good value.

Positives: I like the parking garage. The jacuzzi was refreshing.

Negatives: The pool was cloudy. One ice machine working the other 3 not.

When we complained about smoke smell outside room and requested to change room on our first night, we were asked to pay $10 extra by the front desk.

Overall, this hotel is a good place to stay for anybody who is looking for a nice clean room, just to sleep and not needing to spend much time at the hotel. It's location is not in the best part of town, so it's best suited for those who have a car that they can use to get around town for their business.

Positives: Up to date furnishings in rooms.

Negatives: Cracked light switch, appearance is everything, even the small stuff.

Was pleasantly surprised at this hotel. Judging from the area surrounding it we thought we were in trouble. However, it was very nice, and front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. There were a few issues in the room like TV channels were not working, but they willingly took that information and went off to fix it. Restaurant staff could use some training - as they saw people come in, one server would yell across the room to someone else to go and greet guests. Instead of giving us coffee, while the server went to deliver room service, he said he'd be back, so we had to wait. It would have taken all of about 3 seconds to pour a cup and then go on to his errand. Things like that make a big difference.

Positives: Front desk people were extraordinarily friendly and helpful.

Negatives: Restaurant service was average.

Do not stay here. Pay the extra money and stay at the hotel Maya. Very bad neighborhood, you do not want to walk or take public transport around here.

The hotel was very clean. The rooms were nice, the beds were comfortable and the weight room was well equipped. The hotel had plenty of underground parking.

Positives: I like that the toiletries were all from Bath &amp; Body!

Negatives: There was no water in the water dispenser in the weight room.

I cannot recommend this hotel. It is in a seedy part of Long Beach, rooms are very dated, AC was terrible, and the room had a musty smell.

Positives: Nothing.

Negatives: Air conditioner sounded like a missile launch, room smell musty, bathroom was very dated.

Everything was great. Location is not awful, but just beyond the edge of downtown and tourist stuff, beginning to be a little more run down, but not ghetto at all. Next to a hospital, so you may or may not hear sirens and a bit too far to walk to tourist-y areas about 8 big blocks away. Free parking, pool and hot tub on second floor for privacy, beautiful bay windows. Request 4th floor, street side. If you have a car, you'll be just fine.

It really is not a safe area to walk around, and there are not restaurants nearby. The courtesy shuttle does take you within 3 miles which is good, since there is Shoreline Village just 3 miles away with 4 star hotels, shops and first rate eateries. For the past 5 visits, the fridge in the room either didn't work or failed during the stay, causing spoiling of the food, and putting at risk the baby's medicine. At least we were compensated with a breakfast coupon. The last two stays we have encountered ants in the room and in the restaurant. We were offered to move room which we did. Service requests to change light bulbs, fix a clogged sink etc. were made, but never completed.

Negatives: Ants in the room & restaurant, service requests not done.

Hotel was clean. Staff was polite and helpful. Hotel had microwave and fridge which helped a lot. Overall it was good experience to stay at Holiday Inn Long back. Negative Part: 1)Not safe to walk around at night time with family. 2) Elevator has direct access from car park. Anybody can go around the hotel rooms without the notice of security.

Although there were heat ants, we were moved and given complimentary dinner coupons since we were told that we could move until after we had unpacked everything-we have a year old baby !I did overhear a man in the lobby reporting that his license plates had been stolen off of his rental car. It is rather a "dodgy" area.

We checked in late and all the rooms were sold out and they could only give us a smoking room and we do not smoke. It was not as bad as some smoking rooms are, so we could stand it, but it was unpleasant. The staff (all youngsters) said we could change rooms the next day, but when we went to do that they said it was impossible. This hotel is close to a main hospital and there is a lot of noise and no view to speak of.

Positives: The lobby and entrance were appealing.

Negatives: My smoking room, as I do not smoke.
