Steps away from the harbor, literally. But the grounds afforded wonderful views. Staff was always friendly and even though it was all valet parking, our car was promptly brought up each time we called for it.

Positives: Great staff, great views, and wonderful room

Negatives: It is all valet parking and the price is a little steep.

This is a beautiful property with a California casual flare. It sits perched on a hillside overlooking the Doheny State Beach and Dana Point Harbor. Between the hotel and beach/harbor is a lovely park with green grass, play structure, walking trail, and an abundance of wild bunny rabbits, so cute at Easter time! The staff exceeded our expectations. Our young children were treated to ice pops by the pool side each day, my husband, (generally hard to please)was thrilled by the pool side attendant that offered to clean his sun glasses, I enjoyed a wonderful pedicure and spa treatment. The valets and bellmen were very helpful and anticipated our every need. The lovely lady at the Starbucks counter was so friendly and helpful every morning and ensured that there was plenty of cream cheese and an assortment of jams for our bagels. Most importantly, Nigel at the front desk was the BEST! He was so helpful to us and our late arriving friends. This is a beautiful resort with a fantastic staff.

Positives: Outstanding service from everyone, the pool, coffee bar, restaurant, and front desk staff was exceptional.

Negatives: The parking is $30/day.

This hotel was in a great location and very nicely kept. The interior was a nice surprise too.

Positives: Very clean and updated.

Negatives: Restaurants were expensive for what you got.

Exclusive and not too expensive; located on a cliff with view of harbor, well manicured lawn, excellent spa facility, well designed and decorated rooms giving a resort flavor. Only complaint would be the $29 valet parking fee and lack of self parking option. The hotel parking and bell captain seemed over eager to help and collect tips; this took away from what should have been a fully laid back resort experience.

Positives: Nice spa, nice view, nice room, and very nice.

Negatives: $29 valet parking fee; only valet parking available.

There was no self parking, they fixed the toilet seat immediately. Went to get coffee last day and discovered coffee maker was broken - too late to do anything about it.

Positives: The bed and linens were divine.

Negatives: The toilet seat and coffee maker were broken, there weren't enough towels the day we checked in.

Overall, a very good hotel.

Positives: View and location.

Negatives: Room a little small.

I was truly impressed with Laguna Resort and Spa. It was easy to find. The location is great. It overlooks the ocean which truly make you feel you are in a resort. The room decor is great. It was clean, smelled fresh and looks very new. The parking fee is steep but I think its worth it. The swimming pool is awesome. I felt like I was in Hawaii with the view. My family will definitely stay here again.

Positives: Location, ambience, decor, friendly staff, awesome view, swimming pool.

Negatives: Parking fee is too expensive.

We would definately stay here again. The hotel is beautiful. Great pools. One has a water playground for the kids.

Positives: Beautiful location. Remodled rooms are beautiful.

Negatives: $26 per night parking. Way excessive.

The location of and views from the hotel are beautiful. Sunrise from the balcony of the room was breathtaking. The room, however, was ordinary. Without the common areas, I could have been at a nicer Best Western. The food was like eating at Jack in the Box, greasy, over salted, unimaginative, and overpriced for the quality --$11 for pancakes?

Positives: Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely facilities.

Negatives: The rooms were average. The on site restaurant food was greasy and salty. Not vegetarian-friendly.

The hotel room was very clean, bed comfortable and very quiet. We enjoyed our stay, the location was ideal for travel.

Positives: The hotel grounds were beautiful and room was immaculate.

Negatives: Had to pay $12.00 per 24 hour period for internet service and parking – bad.

Everything about this hotel is beautiful, from the location, to the views, to the rooms. The lobby, bar, pool area - everything was just awesome. 2 negatives for me! My last day, I went out to the pool area, and they were doing construction in it! This ruined a morning of sun for me. Also, they are not cheap, and having to pay $27/day for parking is ludicrous!

Positives: Hotel was beautiful-rooms, views, bar area-all of it!

Negatives: Paying for parking is ridiculous. They charged $27.00/day!

They are finishing up the remodel so per the Hotel Director there is Valet parking only right now. As I waited for my car day after day everyone was complaining since no one knew about the hidden cost of $27 a day.

Positives: Great location, clean and comfy.

Negatives: Valet parking only $27 a day that was never disclosed.

Positives: Loved the location & atmosphere of this hotel.

Fabulous views and excellent rooms. Main pool jacuzzi was broken for the entire stay. Parking was too expensive. Speaking of expensive, the price of dinner in the main dining room as well as the prices on wine were way beyond what is acceptable and were a complete turn off.

Positives: Beautiful views and nice rooms.

Negatives: Parking, food and beverage much too expensive.

I think the hotel is excellent and we had a great time. The location couldn't be better, we walked everywhere, I didn't use my car the whole time. Very nice staff and the pool was wonderful. I would stay again.

Positives: Great location and beautiful!

Negatives: Under construction so no tennis.

The room was dated, the tennis courts were under renovation and unavailable. Aside from that, the concierge hooked us up for a great meal at the nearby Chart House & the restaurant comped us an outstanding dessert!

Positives: Nice location.

Negatives: Hotel was dated.

This is a property that has been here a while. But it has been kept up very well. The rooms are clean and the beds are heavenly. The bathrooms are a little small. The bath tub could not accommodate anyone but a very small individual. You couldn't bath in it, but it was adequate as a shower. They have their own parking garage, but they charge you $24/day to park there.

Positives: The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Negatives: If you want an environment that's quiet (no kids), this isn't it.

The staff was very friendly. Our room was very clean. The spa was absolutely amazing. Poolside was the best time enjoying drinks and a beautiful ocean view. Great relaxation, exactly what we went for.

Positives: The bed was very comfortable and the room very clean. The pool was the highlight with ocean view.

Negatives: $24 a night for parking is over doing it since you are a paying guest.

This hotel is not at all what I expected. The rooms were very small and not at all luxurious. The closest vending machine was too far. The restaurants were not accommodating, so we had to go elsewhere.

I was able to walk to the Doheny Blues Festival which was held right down the street. I should've called about getting the air conditioner fixed, as the staff assured me it would've been fixed. My 2 meals in-room were hot and right on time and delicious. I'm thinking of making this an annual event!

Positives: Very friendly staff.

Negatives: My air conditioner didn't work well.

Great location - not too far from L.A. but totally different in feeling; very relaxing. Breakfast was more than we anticipated, in both quantity and price (especially for Sunday brunch). Loved the spa experience of getting a pedicure. The concierge made reservations for afternoon tea nearby, as well as whale and dolphin watching - fabulous!

Positives: Comfy furniture. Coffee/tea bar. Spa - pedicure.

Negatives: Signage to spa. No curtain by head of bed to block light from sitting area.

Positives: The location was great as well as the view from our room great gym!
