The front desk manager was extremely rude and unfriendly. They kept asking for our car information and that is something I'm not comfortable giving because I don't understand why they needed it. They said they wanted the info if your alarm goes off in the middle of the night, but we didn't have a car alarm....they were just way too pushy. And then to top it off they wanted to make us wait 3 hours to check in because we arrived early, even though they allowed another guest to check-in at the same time
Positives: Somewhat close to the beach and a cute downtown area.
Negatives: The front desk manager was rude. Kept asking for our car information and they were very pushy and they wanted to make us wait 3 hours to check in.

Good outside looking and garden. Apart from that, the rest is just close to 3 stars rating.
Positives: Hotel staff was very helpful.
Negatives: The corridor is very complicated, easy to get lost.

Generally a nice property. We didn't use any of the amenities (pool, restaurant) as we were visiting friends. The bed was kind of saggy on one corner and the carpet felt damp for some reason, but not wet. It was clean and suited our needs for this trip - would stay again.
Positives: Good location for our plans. Relatively clean facility. Nice little semi-private balcony.
Negatives: Shower spray was needly, very unpleasant. Carpet felt damp, housekeeping just okay, not thorough.

Hotel is nice and the view of courtyard is very nice, but we got parking lot and freeway view and noise. I called to request courtyard view and was told that I couldn't get it only if there were other rooms available at the time I checked in.
Positives: Easy to find and easy exit it off the freeway.
Negatives: You always get parking lot view and freeway noise.

Other than the noise, very acceptable.
Positives: Convenient location.
Negatives: Could hear people walking above us all night.

Convenient location just off the 101. Room was clean, but small and dark (the small window faced the covered porch behind the check-in desk.) Heard every step from the guest above us- I don't think that he/she was being particularly loud, it was just the construction of the hotel. Fortunately we were on similar schedules and he/she went to bed before we did and got up after we were already awake. Chose a top floor room facing away from the 101 if you can.
Positives: Convenient location. Clean.
Negatives: Room was small and dark, but I'm sure there are better room.

For the road traveler, spending a few days at the beach with kids, ir in town for a night or two, this is a well located, for car access, and serves Santa Barbara without being in town. The overall aesthetic for an overnight roadside location is very nice.... lots of palm trees and a very clean Mediterranean vibe.
Positives: Clean quick and easy... and very attractive landscape and environment for a strip/freeway location.... Quiet.
Negatives: New nothing.... went on Priceline recommendation.

Very clean. It is a very nice building. the mattress was comfortable if a little springy. The room was nice, the air conditioner worked very well and I slept very well.
Positives: It was beautiful and easy to find.
Negatives: At check in the lady at the front desk made me wait on her personal phone conversation to end before checking me in.

I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. The highlights strongly outweighed the negatives. Beautiful city and wonderful friendly hotel.
Positives: I loved the location and feel of the hotel. It had a great courtyard. Highly recommended.
Negatives: It was on a busy street and difficult to turn into. Our room was on the side by the freeway and it was noisy.

Pricey for what it is. Very loud just from people walking upstairs. No bar in the restaurant!

Negatives: Noisy, no bar, small pool/spa.

The location was great, right off the 101 exit. The curtain kept the room dark, which is pretty nice. I remember waking up to people talking and laughing in the hallway outside the room thinking it was 3 or 4 am, but then realized it was 8 am. So yea, pretty good curtains. I would definitely stay here again.
Positives: The shower head was awsome.
Negatives: The fountain in the courtyard was empty and off.

Thr rooms were very clean and quiet. The building is of a mission style and the landscaping was beautiful, especialy in the courtyard. My wife still thinks it was a four star hotel.
Positives: Very clean, very pretty and looked like many 4 star places I've stayed at.
Negatives: Didn't have a place to buy a candy bar, pop, gum, etc.

Hotel was nice. Did not have alot of accomodations, except for the on-site resturaunt. The courtyard was nice and to sit outside your room and watch the fountains was nice. However, it did not have things like swimming pool or fitness room.
Positives: The fountains in the courtyard and your own door to the courtyard.
Negatives: Rooms were a little small and there was no workout area.

We rented two rooms. The room our parents stayed in had nice architectural ceiling details and a vaulted ceiling. Our room was rather plain, with a flat stucco ceiling. Everything was adequate. Not a big dining selection, but there are plenty of places to eat in town.
Positives: Nice garden courtyard and Spanish-style motif in the lobby.
Negatives: Windows and outer walls facing the expressway could be better insulated. It was a little noisy.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was great and the price was reasonable. Enjoyed the hot Jacuzzi along with comfortable beds.

This hotel was very nice - it has a beautiful courtyard and our room had a balcony facing the courtyard. It also had a very nice restaurant. We would stay again - we also enjoyed the little city of Carpentaria.
Positives: Loved the room with balcony overlooking a beautiful courtyard.
Negatives: There wasn't anything we did not like.

The hotel was ok, but the sheets not fitting the bed caused a night of interrupted sleep. When we informed the staff in the morning they seemed uninterested and we did not receive an apology.
Positives: Close to freeway.
Negatives: Sheets did not fit bed.

My family and I (wife and two kids) were comfortable at this hotel. We used it as sort of a base of operations as we visited areas and attractions around central and southern California. The hotel was easy to find and easy to get to coming from any direction. It was also located in a very nice town.
Positives: Conveniently located and easy to get to from the freeway, plus close to restaurants, shops and the beach.
Negatives: The standard size room was relatively small compared to other similar hotels.
Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 09 Jul 2007 rated 9 out of 10.
We had a one night stay at this hotel. The building and grounds were great. Staff was friendly. The pool is on the small side, but the beach is only about 6 blocks away. Location is right on exit ramp next to freeway, but noise is not a problem when the balcony door is closed. Nice extra feature is a small balcony.
Positives: Very nice building and grounds, friendly staff.
Negatives: Small pool, a little pricey.
Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 18 Jun 2007 rated 9 out of 10.
Overall, the location, staff and appearance were very good. A good deal for the area.
Positives: Great location to freeway and nice garden area.
Negatives: Refrigerator in room did not work.
